That actually brings me to another thought. With coaching/teaching being a govt job, should all hires be open to the public?

Not at all…when Kay took over for Aymond the job wasn’t posted. Also it’s several assistant coaching jobs come open at NS that never gets posted.

Let's make sure we staying on topic. Thanks for the info @Coach_Izzy. I look forward to seeing how the new coach... whoever it is. Should have no problem taking the team back again. Some programs do great with a new coach.

Not my fault y’all let somebody who’s clueless & never played sports run a sports forum…he stated his “source” told him I coached at the middle school when a simple Google search would’ve showed otherwise. But hey Mikey guess what? @AggiesAreWe I’ma good guy so I’m going to help you out and do the research you should’ve done before speaking on me.

This is the hidden content, please

Thanks for proving how clueless you really are and how you have no real “sources”.

Gaston is a good choice wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at the college level too after a few years but I hope Coach Cross stays put

Him getting the OC title is one of the biggest reasons we had the run we had! Gaston single handily changed the dynamic of NS’s offense. Kay gets all of the credit, but those that know know the coordinators run the show.

I've heard coaches say that before all it takes is the right opportunity

Trust me on this one we’ve had plenty of convos about it…Cross enjoys coaching the X’s & O’s more than dealing with all the things that comes with being a head coach! Gaston is next in line without a doubt

I guess he figured it was time to move up a level.  Any idea how old he is?  I am asking because I'm wondering if he is planning on moving to one of the bigger schools later on as a HC.

Yeah there’s always been talks of him leaving once his daughter graduates (she’s graduating from Crosby this year) & I can def see him leveling up in the college ranks the guy is literally a genuis

I expect the middle school assistant to throw his name in the hunt. I mean, if it weren't for him, they would have never won any of those championships.

You’ve made a living speaking about sh*t you don’t know about so I expect no less lol I would suggest you find better sources on me, also I never said I was the reason we won those titles…but I definitely was a piece of the puzzle just like the rest of coaching staff. Nice try though idiot

PA Lincoln still may lay claim to that.

Who's really in BU's way to offer up serious resistance? Austin Westlake went down to San Marcos. Lake Highlands had a good scare against Plano East but are still alive. Seven Lakes might put up fight.

I think a bad game is the only thing keeping BU from 3 peating.

Let me pose another question to you, if DV was able to compete in the playoffs who do you think wins that game?

I watched that game Lake Highlands was up by 15-20 in the 3rd not sure what happened when I stopped watching, but they are a legitimate threat to dethrone BU don’t let that score from tonight fool you.

Beaumont has the talent.  So, what's the problem there?

Admin & coaching…BISD is 20 years behind when it comes to knowing how to run a successful athletic program…I seen BU’s weight room yesterday and it’s literally the exact same as when I attended over 10 years ago! That lets you know everything you need to know…also it’s coaches that’s been in BISD forever and have never coached anywhere else so they have no clue how to run a successful program. So the offensive/defensive schemes are rudimentary and they don’t know any better because at the end of the day “you don’t know what you don’t know”

Dome in 86 and kyle field in 87 in the rain was just as good as NRG in 15 and AT&T in 16. Just another fan opinion, but we tend to forget this is about the kids. Wonder what they'd rather? Also I feel the novelty of AT&T is wearing off. So many people went just to go. Now not so much. I've been 3x and won't go back until WOS does... 🤐

Kids would prefer AT&T and it’s not even close…

Here's some unofficial numbers I found NOT counting 2020 for the COVID year its easy to see why the UIL never returned to NRG...while the numbers have been up and down they've still been above 200,000 consistently that's also why UIL state won't be going anywhere

    2012: 205,238

    2013: 221,339

    2014: 250,652

    2015: 156,143

    2016: 235,311

    2017: 203,423

    2018: 221,167

    2019: 217,679

    2021:220,585

    2022:213,665

Bingo…not sure why this is even a topic of discussion or maybe some just don’t understand business
