I'm hearing $15 which would be an increase of $3 from last year. I don't know for sure because I haven't found one yet. Last year I didn't find one until the middle of August at a Walgreens where I had never seen them before. I long for the "good old days" not so long ago when you could find it at multiple outlets in early July. I don't want the subscription because it is too expensive for what you get. -
What a shame for them and the others who lost their lives. Now if somebody can figure out how to prevent this from happening again. This is not the 1st time people have died from Guadalupe River flooding.

Having experienced returning starters does sometimes make a difference, but it's not the only factor. Huw good your returning backups and how good your subvarsity was is also important. Smithson Valley won state with the the same number of returning starters as Friendswood has this year (3 on offense and 5 defense). Angleton would love to get another crack at them.

I think the Crosby folks have already had their say in a thread "Crosby 2025". I think the key for them is better QB play, an area they were lacking last year to make up for the fact that they're not likely to have another RB as good as Yarbrough. They also lost Windfont on defense who will be hard to replace.

That would be Kaleb Jammer, WR who was the leading receiver last year in predistrict, but broke his ankle before district. HIs brother Kasen , a CB, was named defensive newcomer of the year for the district as a soph last year. They have quite an NFL connection; their father Quentin Jammer was a CB in the NFL for 12 years and their uncle, Quandre Diggs was a safety in the NFL 10 years. With the Titans last yeat, he had a lisfrank injury and at 32 may not get another chance to play. While with the Titans, he put in a good word for his cousin, Cam Ward, who they drafted with the 1st pick. Kasen's DC Gilbert Gardner Jr., an Angleton grad, was a LB in the NFL for several years. I hope to see Kasen in the NFL too. The WR I'm waiting to see is Juel Peterson who was 2nd team all-district as a freshman at a Houston 6A, transferred and spent last year on Angleton's JV. He's also a kick returner. As for the defense, they should be ok. Three of the starters received post season honors, DL Brynden Mack was named honorable mention all-state by TSWA, TraeVonne Latimer was 2nd team all district and Kasen Jammer, the defensive newcomer. The new starters have been running this defense since 7th grade so I expect by district play they will be in fine form.

Pfugerville Weiss who you may remember from reg. 3 5AD1 playoffs, is open. HC went to Mesquite Horn.

For anybody who wants to be one of the first to know who Galveston's head coach will be and has lots of patience, there will be a live stream of the board meeting stating at 6 pm Wednesday where they would likely announce it: Board Meeting Live Stream - Galveston Independent School District There is an agenda on that site #DocumentType# of #MeetingType# Meeting

I said "may". They reported 1905 to TEA for this year, last realignment the cutoff for D1 was 1903. Upon further investigation, I think probably not. The TEA numbers usually are the same as or about the same as the UIL numbers taken at the same time. But in some cases for whatever reason I know they're not. In 2023 the TEA number for Ball was 1951, but the UIL number was 2030. Hopefully somebody can explain why the UIL numbers are sometimes higher.

What district gets Randle and Dulles next realignment
purple reign replied to purple reign's topic in High School Football
I would say there is a decent chance of this happening and New Caney Porter might go to 9 also, since 9 will probably lose Barbers Hill to 6A and may lose Galveston Ball to 5A-D2. 11-5A-D2 could also pick up Souith Houston from 6A with Kempner and K-Park going to D2. -
I don't think it's Oliphant. He hasn't had much success at La Marque. One thing that La Marque and Ball have in common is they're building a new high school at the same site as the old school. In La Marque's case they are also building a new stadium there so that they won't need to play at Stingeree any more. They must not be expecting much growth because it will only hold 5000 and the artist's drawing doesn't show hardly any parking. Also, Oliphant's salary at La Marque was $105,077 in '24, Bennight's in '24 was $102, 342.

I hear they are taking a long look at Ball alumnus Kevin Berneathy. Just kidding. I wonder if Ball DC Troy Addudell is in the mix. He's had a lot of experience as a head coach at Clear Lake and though he didn't have a lot of success they kept him there forever almost. I think he was at Baytown Sterling after that.

Go to: Texas Education Agency - Student Enrollment Reports On report line click the last one on the drop down "Selected totals using campus name",where it says "type here", type over that phrase with the name of the school. Where it says grade, ethnicty or gender, I usually select gender so that i only need to add 2 numbers together unless I have some interest in the other two, then click on "next" below that. -

Under this change GCM would become a 5AD2 school, Lee would probably become 5AD1, and Sterling a 6A using the numbers you supplied. -

Changes don't look too radical to me, if you're talking about area. [Hidden Content] -

Another thing to consider is FB Kempner reported 1850 and Kingwood Park 1884, that's below the current cutoff for D1 of 1903 -

Or La Porte and Pasadena. That way you would have the 3 ship channel area schools together. Barbers Hill may go to 6A this time if they have another year of growth like this year and that would leave 2 openings in 9-5Ad1. -
With ADM's having been released on TEA site taken last fall between UIL accounting years, it looks like both Richmond Randle from 5A-D2, the state champion, and Dulles dropping down from 6A will have to find a new home in 5A-D1. What district gets them? Dulles this year had 2165 and Randle 1966 and growing fast. Other Adm's for 5AD1 in region 3 follow: 9-5AD1: Baytown Sterling 2150 B. United 2035 B. West Brook 2213 Galveston Ball 1905 Lufkin 2026 Barbers Hill 2222 P.A. Memorial 2140 10-5AD1 Galena Park 1815 H. Austin 1181 H. Madison 1588 H. Milby 2126 H. Sharpstown 1689 H. Waldrip 1615 H.Westbury 2263 H. Spring Woods 2020 11-5AD1: Angleton 2025 Crosby 2148 FB Kempner 1850 Friendswood 2014 Kwood Park 1884 La Porte 2090 NC Porter 2094 Pasadena 2217 12-5AD1: A. Angleton(14) vs. Smithson Valley(21)/Final
purple reign replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
The only good thing about losing is you don't have to face the fedora (HP). I get the feeling that they're going to be state champs. That man tried to retire in '18, but just couldn't in the end. I think he's about 73 now. Angleton will have about 8 starters back on offense next year but only 3 on defense, a DL and 2 DB's.. -
Cats 6'3" receiver Nicolas Jackson hurt in the 1st half against La Porte and didn't return. I don't know his status but in the 2nd half he was replaced by sophomore Wesley Jackson who is about the same size and I assume is his brother and he did an amazing job. The Cats seem to be determined to get to the championship game.

Angleton will face Smithson Valley, a perennial fixture in the playoffs at 2:30 PM in Waco. SV has a potent offense featuring dual threat QB Cade Spradling who likes to run and throw. Seems to have good speed. Angleton will be in the semi finals for the 1st time since as a Region 4 champion they played Manvel in NRG in 2017 but lost. The game will be carried on NFHS.
