  1. this shows that there may be enough schools to claim all 4 districts in Region 3 with opt ups. But what does the UIL do with those teams from the Austin area and College Station that are in Region 3 now?
  2. I don't know why they couldn't move MST and Milby up to 6A and have majority control of that district with the 4 6A schools they already have in 6A and let their 4A and 5AD2 schools reside in 5AD2 but they didn't do that last time.
  3. The article doesn't mention opt ups. He seems to be only looking at the numbers. He may not be aware there is any such thing as opt ups!
  4. HISD isn't going to leave Sam Houston MST and Milby by themselves. I'm sure they have opted up a bunch of 5AD2 and 4A like last time.
  5. Kingwood Park may have thought they had escaped D1, but no such luck. Crosby, what can I say? Say hello to North Shore, Summer Creek, Atascocita, and C,E. King! Some teams will have to face both Randle and Iowa Colony in district.
  6. Lufkin is like Laredo. They don't belong anywhere.
  7. I don't have access to this mock, but it seems premature since cutoffs haven't been announced. Some of those teams may change depending on being classified differently. However, La Porte's travel burden will be lighter in this 10-5AD1 (45 miles avg.) than if they put them in the 8-5AD1(average of 59 miles) and for bidistrict might be paired with some Dallas area team in R2. What happened to the Pasadena schools in this mock?
  8. Brazosport is open (4A). Richard Sincere finished with a 2-28 record in 3 years.
  9. I disagree. Johnson is special. He's a lot of of the reason they have got where they are.
  10. They don't always go in the same direction. In 2022 the 5A-6a cutoff was 2225 and D1/D2 cutoff was1925. In 2024 the 5A/6A cutoff had risen to 2275, while the D1/D2 cutoff dropped to 1903. We'll know sometimes around Dec. 8.
  11. Massey ratings picks: PAM 35, A&M 28 Barbers Hill 34, A. Anderson 27 College Station 48, United 14 Weiss 40, Lufkin 22
  12. Massey Ratings predict College Station 48, United 14
  13. MY prediction is that by the end of the game United will be tired of hearing the name Keaton Johnson!
  14. Yes, Friendswood scored with less than a minute remaining and went for 2 and it failed.
  15. Another example of why you don't want your opponent to have an extra week to prepare and rest. I've seen this happen too many times to know it's a factor. Congrats to College Station.
  16. College Station 14, Angleton 7, half
  17. 3 hours? They better start earlier than that. It sometimes takes hours to get across Houston during rush hours. consult Transtar to find the best route: [Hidden Content]
  18. Glad to hear from a Weiss Wolves fan. I see you posted on the 5A board too.
  19. They corrected Manvel's number. There's probably others that are in error too. If it's like the last two realignments the official numbers will be released on the UIL site to the public on about Dec. 8 and with it will be the classification for each school. Of course the actual grouping into districts won't happen until the first week of February.
  20. I just subscribe to NFHS for 4 months and all Angleton's home games including subvarsity games are on it, so it works for me.
  21. If you subscribe to NFHS, you get Texan Live too. They have a partnership.
  22. The game will be streamed on NFHS. Massey Ratings predict: Angleton 41, College Station 35
  23. Good luck, Dogs. Having the home field should certainly help when the teams are that far apart.
  24. Coach Brittain has refused to give a progress report saying it is a violation of law to do so with a minor but I assume he's out for the season. He was having such a good season as a senior that I don't know what this will do for his college recruiting. It's a shame that the 2nd string guy, Trey Gardner, is also out for the season as he could use the experience as he will probably be the starter next year.
  25. Like you said, it will take some major reshuffling with many more schools in the GHA coming in to 5AD1 than leaving, I think maybe 3 teams will be dropping down, NC Porter (1831) Kempner (1813) and Kingwood Park which I haven't seen a number for yet. I don't think Iowa Colony has enough yet for D1. These are the schools in the GHA new to 5AD1 that seem to have 5AD1 numbers: Spring Westfiield (2145) FB Dulles (2132) FB Hightower (2220) LC Randle (2021) LC Foster (2227) LC George Ranch (2217) GC Memorial (2202) New Caney (2051) Katy Freeman (2066) South Houston (2063) Possibly Manvel (2243) So if the DCTF numbers are accurate, there will be a net gain of 7 or more schools in the GHA in D1. Of course the majority of District 10 (mostly HISD) have below 5AD1 numbers, but the UIL, I feel pretty sure will continue to let them opt up.
