  1. Crawford has a Rosharon address, but it's not located there but at the entrance of Sienna. It is the largest school in terms of area in Fort Bend ISD so you can see they are expecting a lot of growth. It was built to relieve crowding at Ridge Point and Hightower high schools.
  2. With the teams all being off this week and about to start district play next week, I took a look at how Maxpreps ranked them in comparison to other 5AD1 teams and here is the result with state rank in parenthesis: Angleton 3-0 (23) La Porte 0-3 (31) Friendswood 1-2 (38) Kingwood Park 1-2 (52) Crosby 0-3 (56) NC Porter 1-2 (72) FB Kempner 3-0 (76) Pasadena 1-2 (112) You may or may not agree, but it sounds reasonable to me.
  3. Foster hasn't been the same since HC Shaun McDowell left for Conroe Grand Oaks to be their coach. They were always one of the top teams in their district. They decided to go with long time assistant of his when he left, DC Hanks and so far it hasn't worked out. Funny thing is McDowell's son, Shaun Jr still plays for Foster as a DL. Does McDowell , Sr. commute every day the 60 miles to Grand Oaks HS?
  4. 3rd week scores: Angleton 38, Foster 0 Bellaire 35, Pasadena 7 Kempner 40, Wisdom 0 Dayton 42, NC Porter 20 Port Neches-Groves 49, La Porte 35 Galveston Ball 33, Friendswood 7 FB Marshall 27, Crosby 14 Clear Lake 48, Kingwood Park 28
  5. Fulshear's emergence didn't affect Lamar Consolidated.
  6. 2nd week scores: KIngwood 28 La Porte 21 Angleton 52, Brazoswood 14 Kingwood Park 30, Dayton 10 Pasadena Rayburn 28, Pasadena 0 Iowa Colony 24, Crosby 0 Friendswood 36, FB Willowridge 13 Pasadena Memorial 29, Porter 28 FB Kempner 41, Lamar Consolidated 16
  7. 1st week scores: FB Marshall 27, Friendswood 23 FB Kempner 19, Aldine 3 Porter 37, galena Park 13 Angleton 24, Clear Lake 10 Dayton 19, Crosby 14 Deer Park 25, La Porte 22 Pasadena 56, Houston Austin 0 Montgomery 28, Kingwood Park 26
  8. Angleton 7, Bay City 0 in the timed portion. BC ranked #9 in state in 4A-D1 on Maxpreps. After watching them, I have no reason to doubt that. Angleton's inexperienced OL looks like they will be OK.
  9. I don't think anybody is surprised when Crosby has a good year. It's expected. It's when they have an off year, you're surprised.
  10. Probably not much. Lufkin will take over Angleton's district schedule.
  11. 7A is not the cure all some people seem to think. I saw a mock realignment on some board for 7A and it was a joke, although I'm sure the author did the best he could. What I saw was some districts would have 9-10 members, others might just have 4 and awful travel. It's the same reason, 6A won't agree to pre split. The UIL opened a can of worms when they bought this up without doing an analysis including a mock realignment. You could say it's unfair to some scjools to play bigger schools, but you could also say it;s unfair for a 4 team district to send everybody to the playoffs while you are in a 10 team district that less than half qualify. The UIL said last summer that they would consider 7A when another 100 schools were added to the approximately 500 schools now in 5A and 6A without changing the bottom of 5A much. This could take decades.
  12. This won't affect District 9, but UIL approved Spring Wood's appeal also to D10.
  13. Angleton's and Lufkin's appeals are probably a package deal. They won't put them in the same district. Spring Woods also appealed to move to D10 with HISD schools mostly. As bad as they always are, they don't want to play a team with a pulse. Galveston Ball didn't appeal, so will stay in D9.
  14. Angleton runs a spread and an agressive 4-2-5 defense. Schedule: wk1 Clear Lake wk2 Brazoswood wk3 Richmond Foster wk4 Houston Westside wk5 Beaumont United (home) Wk6 Beaumont Westbrook (away) wk7 bye wk8 Baytown Sterling (home) wk9 P.A. Memorial (away) wk10 Barbers Hill (home) wk11 Galveston Ball (away)
  15. Friendswood after Angleton went up 21-0 seemed to change their defensive scheme to stopping the pass no matter what and it seemed to work to a degree, but just not good enough. Pretty good game with few penalties and only one turnover.
  16. final angleton 34-18. johnson now leading Cedar park 22-21.
  17. Angleton 28, Friendswood 10, end 3rd
  18. Cedar park 14, Johnson 7, halftme.
  19. Angleton 21, Friendswood 3 , halftime
  20. This game is supposed to be on NFHS. All i see is a darkened empty stadium when i go there. Angleton leads 14-0 in first quarter according to DCTF.
  21. i remember the last time these teams faced each other in the final game of the regular season in 2019. What a game. it went back and forth all game. Angleton finally won by one point on a 2-point conversion at the end of the game.
  22. Carl Padilla @padillapoll ยท 45m The Bottom of 6A just dropped from 2230 to 2215! More later! #txhsfb @padilla_poll @glere53 @RevengOfThe4th @PigskinPrep
  23. Somebody needs to check the Manvel number. The TEA website shows them as having 2561 kids for the 2020-2021 school year.
  24. Angleton's coach said they have not been able to find another opponent to replace Houston Wisdom who forfeited and they will start preparing for next week. I'm surprised he would even want to as the city was hit hard by NIcholas. The center of the storm passed less than 15 miles to the west. They have not had school this week but hope to reopen on Friday. Nearly the whole city lost power. In an earlier game, another HISD school forfeited, Kashmere and he found another team to play, Alief Taylor. Ironically, the team that Kashmere played that week instead of Angleton was Wisdom. Last week Wisdom forfeited to Manvel. According to Maxpreps ratings, Manvel would have been a 99 point favorite. I'm hoping Wisdom will be a D2 problem next year. Wisdom used to be R.E. Lee high school before they changed it a few years ago. From 2003 to 2012 they did not have varsity football because of lack of interest. They have homecoming at a soccer match, I'm told.
