Hasker has gotten the attention of the Aggies already. He's #30 on their list of the 2028 Top Recruits in Texas, the 3rd cornerback on their list. Top Football Recruits in Texas - 2028 | TexAgs Apparently, they don't know he has transferred to Angleton. His dad is an Oklahoma alumnus. Sean Simon from La Porte is also on the list.

They could have injuries since they seemed good in the 1st few games. But like I said, motivation makes you better.

Friendswood (2-3,0-2) will be visiting Angleton (5-0,2-0) Friday at 7PM. Friendswood is the closest district member to Angleton by far, being about 28 miles away. They should have plenty to motivate them with their backs against the wall after losing their first 2 district games to a couple of the better teams in the district. Also, Angleton has a 6-game winning streak going against them dating back to 2018, so revenge is also motivating them. Angleton is fairly healthy other than the 2nd string QB has been injured and hasn't appeared in the last couple of games. The 3rd guy has been getting reps in his place and the HC called up his son, big for a freshman at 6', 180 so that there would be 3 players available at QB. I did notice that they took out the starter, Duron in the 1st half against Pasadena, no need to risk getting him hurt. Duron is having a phenomenal year, both passing and rushing. He has completed over 78% of his passes for 936 yds and has run 17 times for 180 yds, a 10.6 average. Angleton has used 12 ball carriers, 5 of which are running backs with 1248 yds on the ground on 137 carries, an average of 9.1 yds/carry. The 2 most used backs, Neyland and Moore are a thunder and lightning combo, with Neyland being over 200 lbs. and Moore having 4.4 speed. This could be the first game this year that the starters have to finish the game.

I'm wondering whether they will show up. Their JV didn't in Angleton and the Cats JV played somebody wearing red. Surely they won't cancel a home varsity game. That's where they make their money.

Texan Live broadcast looks awful. No color most of the time and looks fuzzy. -

Angleton will go up to Pasadena this week for an exciting game against the Eagles. jk I didn't think there would be a streaming option, but they added one kind of late:

How is District 12 shaping up? To me the picture is a total blur. You can't at this point even pick a favorite. Anderson beating A&MC was eye popping. -
This is what I suspected would happen with Ball since Bennight and Jonah Williams left. They appear to have sunk back into the mediocrity we know them so well by. They haven't been the same since Hurricane Ike ravaged the island in 2008. They're lucky they were in a district in 2023 where all the other members were Houston ISD schools so they were able to win a district championship.

Pasadena may be worse than last year. They beat Austin 56-0 last year, so not as bad this year. Austin is listed in Texpreps rankings as the worst 5AD1 team in the state.

New Caney Porter (10) @ Angleton (56) - FINAL

Whew! Those Porter boys came to play, but in the end, Angleton woke up from their stupor an took care of business. I think the 1st 3 games were so easy that the Cats may have thought no one could challenge them. Porter had the ball for almost the entire 1st quarter. Porter's QB and RB were everything I had seen on video. They do have some talent. Angleton though only ahead 7-3 at the half, set the tone for the second half by returning the kickoff for a touchdown and everything went their way from then on. I would have liked to have heard Coach Brittain's half time speech. It worked. -
it seems to me that the losing coach would already know beforehand that it would get out of hand and just forfeit. I'm not aware of anybody in college or pros that have the option of a running clock.

Porter is 2-1 with only loss coming at Dayton 35-14. Angleton is 3-0. This will be a battle between 2 dual threat QBs, Angleton's Bryce Duron and Porter's Stone Singletary. Both pass well and can get good chunks on the ground using their speed. Porter is getting good use out of a large RB who transferred from Spring Legacy, Landon Binford, Angleton has a large RB of their own in Wyatt Neyland, who also started last year but they use a lot of other backs. I'm glad to see they are using the TE more in passing, Jackson DeAtley. He's the son of long time Brazoswood head football coach, Dean DeAtley. He's also a good blocker. Angleton's best WR Kaleb Jammer who missed the entire district season last year is back with the team and is averaging 115 yards/game. The Massey matchup tool picks Angleton 42-7.

Don't underestimate Friendswood. They have been impressive so far. In their only loss to FB Marshall, they outgained Marshall and the only reason they lost was they had a fumble and a blocked punt returned for TDs. They beat Ball by more points than Manvel did. Their game against Willowridge they were leading 48-7 at the half. Their forte seems to be run defense. They held Marshall to 21 carries for 50 yds (2.4 y/c) and Ball to 49 yds on 22 carries (2.2 y/c). La Porte should win, but it won't be easy.
