The problem we have with race in this country,

THE DEMOCRATS AND THE MEDIA TELLING US THERE IS A RACE PROBLEM IN THIS COUNTRY.

  2. Afghan Evacuee Flights Halted After 4 Measles Cases Found, source CBS news.

FOUR CASES and we stop entry.

The case fatality rate for Measles is between .1% - .2%

The current case fatality rate for Covid is 1.61%

That translates to Covid 1610% more deadly than the measles, yet we have an open southern border.

Stats from our world in data and the CDC.

a study of 600,000 cases found unvaccinated people were 4.5 times more likely to catch COVID, 10 times more likely to be hospitalized and 11 times more likely to die.

So the question is 4.5 times of what base number? 10 times more than what base number?

And no that would not be the 600k number, there has to be a base line to arrive at this figure to make it understandable. The devil is in the details...

Wait, you mean to tell me that some people who are vaccinated still get the virus?  I don’t think I’d know this without you posting at least one article a day about some random politician or college athlete.   Considering that when they rolled the vaccine out it was touted as 95% effective, they had already reported that around 1/20 vaccinated people would get sick again.  Factoring in a couple of hundred million people have had the shot now, well, you can do the math.  You could start your own thread and post those types of articles all day long. It’s also now being reported that the efficacy of fully preventing a breakthrough case wanes significantly after 6 months, so more breakthrough cases are occurring.  The great news, which for some reason you never ever post articles about, is that the shot is still overwhelmingly effective at preventing serious illness and death.   Nearly 70% of adults in the US are fully vaccinated.  Over 90% of hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated, and an even higher percentage of the deaths.  Those are incredibly convincing numbers.

Sounds like MSM talking points to me...

I would think if one had a flag store in Texas that the Texas flag would sell more than any other state or even all the states combined.

I would like to see what the statistics are for flag shop owners in other states. Does the Texas flag out sell other states in those stores?

according to Ted Kaye, one of the world’s leading vexillologists – a fancy word for one who studies flags – the Texas flag is the best-selling of all the state flags.

Since your interpretation of my original post is completely different from everyone else’s, it would appear you have reading comprehension problems.  Here, maybe you can find help in this link showing the ten best reading comprehension books.

    Original post,

"If anyone needs proof, a couple of years ago they had a lady who owned a Flag Store on the local news.  She said there were more Texas flags sold than the other 49 States combined.  God Bless Texas."

You showed no proof, you did not site your source and you made a grandiose statement that you can not back up.

In your reply to my post, you once again pointed to this unknown "knowledgeable person" stated that "in America" which was not in your original post, more flags were sold.

So lets see what good ole google says, source Texas Standard,

I’m proud to tell you that according to Ted Kaye, one of the world’s leading vexillologists – a fancy word for one who studies flags – the Texas flag is the best-selling of all the state flags.

Good job there, you could have not got your panties in a bunch if you would have brought some hard info to the table instead of "saw it on the local news couple of years ago.

So it appears I don't have a comprehension problem, you just feel everyone should take your word as gold, kinda like Dr. Faux Chi...

Obtuse, from Shawshank Redemption.  As for my original post, I think she was a local, but she still stated that there were more Texas Flags sold than the other 49 States combined.  The lady was referring to all sales in the country.  What’s interesting is that others seemed to grasp the concept of my post but you didn’t.  For some reason you felt it necessary to belittle the post and/or me.  Fascinating.  Says a lot about you.

Snowflake, says a lot about you.

Others are probably native Texans and if the others "grasped the concept" more power to them.

So belittle goodnight sweet snowflake, sorry I hurt your butt.....

Are you intentionally being obtuse, or is this the real DN?  Point is, a knowledgeable person stated that in America there are more Texas Flags sold than all other 49 States combined.  Who would’ve thought that….

"lady who owned a Flag Store on the local news", that is your quote. You did not state she wasn't in Texas, you implied that a lady who owned a flag store was from Texas.

"obtuse", did you get that from the NYT crossword puzzle?

It said more than other states combined!!!  Guess you missed that part.

Didn't miss that part but you miss the point. If you talk to a flag lady in Florida they would sell more Florida state flags than Texas and the other states combined.

Come on man you're better than that...

Last night, we finished our Regular Session and our second 30 day special session.

    Here is what was accomplished:
    - $1.8 B Funding for a Texas border wall.
    - Texas CDC created.
    - Fetal heartbeat bill.
    - Balanced budget $250 B.
    - Strengthened the Texas Power Grid
    - Property tax reductions.
    - Best election integrity reform in US.
    - Toughest ban on critical race theory in the nation.
    - Churches and gun stores can never be closed by the government in a pandemic or emergency ever.
    - 10th amendment Texas sovereignty reaffirmed.

Arguably the most conservative session in Texas history.

Boldest pro life bill. No State has ever set out to build it’s own wall. A giant ‘we got this’ to the national CDC. Showing 49 other states and the feds you can still balance a budget even with 4 million unemployed and a Covid year clean up.

Telling the world if you're going to cheat in elections in Texas… We're coming for you.

Telling 6 million Texas children… You will never be shamed or told to feel guilty for your skin color.

Telling every mayor and County Judge that you will never shut a church down again while you allow Home Depot's and protesters to gather at will with as many people as they want.

And telling the world that Texans will never stand for ammunition to be restricted or gun stores to be closed during any crisis.

And any city in Texas that ever reduces a police budget from now forward will lose all sales tax revenue collections until they reinstate that budget.

I guarantee you every police force in every city across America will know what we just did and the pressure will be on for all of these blue cities to get their act together and respect the blue.

Basically, the exact opposite of the White House.  The Biden Administration and the rest of the nation should take notice… Texans will not compromise our values, we’ll never apologize for who we are and the freedoms we love.

Texas will run Texas.  God bless Texas.      #txlege #lettexasruntexas

Ok BD and for the counter point,

    - $1.8 B Funding for a Texas border wall.                                         That will never be built.
    - Texas CDC created.                                                                       Just another level of big government
    - Fetal heartbeat bill.                                                                        A matter of moral convictions
    - Balanced budget $250 B.                                                             AS REQUIRED BY TEXAS CONSTITUTION...
    - Strengthened the Texas Power Grid.                                          Sure they did.
    - Property tax reductions.                                                              We will believe it when the checks in the mail.
    - Best election integrity reform in US.                                           A matter of opinion
    - Toughest ban on critical race theory in the nation.                  They will find a way around the ban by renaming it..
    - Churches and gun stores can never be closed by the government in a pandemic or emergency ever.                            Not sure the whole gun store thing is important but ok.
    - 10th amendment Texas sovereignty reaffirmed.                                                                                                                     That and 3 bucks will get you a coffee from Starbucks.

Happy Laborious Weekend to all you dads, you know you will have to do everything.

Was that directed at just sports officiating? The tax law only mandates reporting income of $600 or more. I wonder if these organizations just decided to send a 1099 to everyone to make it easier (see regs below).

    From the IRS website:

“If you pay independent contractors, you may have to file Form 1099-NEC, Nonemployee Compensation, to report payments for services performed for your trade or business. If the following four conditions are met, you must generally report a payment as nonemployee compensation.

    1. You made the payment to someone who is not your employee;
    2. You made the payment for services in the course of your trade or business (including government agencies and nonprofit organizations);
    3. You made the payment to an individual, partnership, estate, or in some cases, a corporation; and
    4. You made payments to the payee of at least $600 during the year.

Note: Beginning with Tax Year 2020, you must use Form 1099-NEC, Nonemployee Compensation, to report payments of nonemployee compensation (NEC) previously reported in box 7 on Form 1099-MISC. The separate instructions for filers/issuers for Form 1099-NEC are available in the 2020 Instructions for Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC.”

I am not really sure if it was directed just at officiating. I found from past experience not to mess with the IRS back in the 80's.

The problem I saw with some of the officials was the lack of knowledge in deductions and how using those deductions would actually increase the profit made. It could also have been that the scheduler was doing some crazy under the table business as he was pulling a pension for MLB. It may have been his accountant that recommend he do that to cover his arse.

I will take the stupid statement. What I was saying by that was laws like abortion, voter regulation and DWI shouldn’t be left to the states. They should be Federal regulations. In 1973 the Supreme Court made abortion legal, so how can they tell Texas that it can make it illegal without making it illegal? Our Country is spiraling out of control because we have given states the right to defund police, legalize drugs etc.. etc. We need certain Federal laws to be re-established and upheld. I am against abortion, but not like this. It should be legal or illegal not in 1 state. If Texas decides everything is bigger in Texas let’s raise the DWI from 0.8 to 1.3 are we good with that? We have to get our government back under control. IF we survive these 4 years we can’t afford to have another Far left President or a President that 75% of America hates. This nation must meet back in the middle somewhere to survive. Agree or disagree that is my opinion

"shouldn’t be left to the states" SERIOUSLY? What else would you like to "Federalize"?

How about you do some learning about our government.

You might want to start with Article 1 section 10, then move on to the Tenth Amendment, we'll wait...

  15. What have they done, how about this. source Breitbart 9/3/21

The black-white unemployment rate jumped higher in August, highlighting how the Biden administration’s policies have failed to arrest the unequal burden of inflation and the coronavirus resurgence.

Black unemployment jumped to 8.8 percent, up from 8.2 percent in August. The white unemployment rate went the other way: falling to 4.5 percent from 4.8 percent. As a result, black unemployment is almost twice the white rate.

Do we need to remind everyone where unemployment in the black and brown communities were under Trump.

You could actually make it a tax deduction if you made capital improvements to your free range, organic poultry "business". Heck just show a loss for a couple years and like magic your tax burden is reduced. You would be amazed how treating a hobby as a business and following a few minor tax codes can make you a hundredaire.
