Oh no. Our PA guy wants to do Astro updates. Why on earth would they do this? Everybody and his brother has a Cell phone and there are numerous apps to track it play by play, or even watch the game live. Some of us RECORD the game to watch it later. The PA “update” thing is not needed as of 10-15 years ago. Everyone needs to clue in. -
Possible sweep from 12 5A D2??
Separation Scientist replied to #COUGAR08's topic in High School Football
Betting on a undefeated, #3 state ranked team vs. a 4 seed. Really going out on a limb there. -

I think those two are correct. Not sure about the rest. I also think those are the finalists. LBJ might be doing a lot of chest thumping after running up 88 points on someone, but it won't be that easy the deeper they get. -
22-5a Volleyball Standings - 2021
Separation Scientist replied to SetHaGoEagles!'s topic in High School Volleyball
If Sterling is going to beat BH, and Sterling's district is stronger than BH's district, you must be predicting a clean sweep for 22 over 21. -
If so, then that does not bode well for TC when they face the BH O-line. BH will lean on ya hard.

Welcome to BH's world! LOL

22-5a Volleyball Standings - 2021
Separation Scientist replied to SetHaGoEagles!'s topic in High School Volleyball
Sterling is 8-5 and 4th place seed. BH is #1 seed and undefeated in district. Anything can happen on any given night but BH should be able to beat a 8-5 4th place team, whoever they are. If they can't, they were not likely going anywhere anyway. JMO. Any word on when and where the BH playoff game is? -
Dayton is the one and only thing BH needs to focus on this week. Nothing else.
-
Thanks, I will take you word for all that. Q: Why do you think 3rd is better than 2nd? I do know 4th place is terrible --FBM awaits.
-
No, I am glad you did. Yours is better. Mine was just more a view of how I think it ends up. You listed all the possibilities.
-
I am thinking BH controls its destiny for 2nd seed. Not sure though.

Not only that, but Jeff Mathews was interviewed on the statewide 2hr Bally Sports SW highlight show! Statewide recognition! Congrats Vidor! If anyone is really interested in seeing it, but does not have access to the BS-SW show, PM me and provide your cell number, I can send you a clip. -
Thanks for breaking that down, 281. Much better job than I did.

Crosby 69 Port Neches-Groves 28/Final
Separation Scientist replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
I have a relative in upper management at a MAJOR refinery whose name every one knows. He tells me the inside scoop what his company, and industry in general thinks about red-blue politics, and specifically the Beaumont Port Arthur area. B-PA has a well deserved bad reputation. When asked about the workforce in one city in Jefferson Co., one industry leader said "Half of the people there don't want to work, and the other half who do will steal from you". Trial lawyers have offices on every block it seems. Pretty harsh but very telling of the reputation. If not for this, then why IS Beaumont Port Arthur declining? Meanwhile red Chambers Co. has an abundance of great jobs and lots of growth as you are well aware. If you still don't think red-blue politics matter to industry, why is there a massive exodus of productive people and companies from super blue California and New York into red Texas and Florida? Its so obvious no one can deny it. Well maybe almost no one. Blue California loses population for the first time: [Hidden Content] Blue California loses businesses to Red Texas [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] -

Thats it. Too many Labor issues in the Beaumont - PA area. Too many strikes, too much litigation, too much hostility to the industrial plants and refineries. Texas Monthly once named Beaumont / Jefferson Co. a "Judicial Hellhole". It amazes me how solid blue Beaumont always votes against the hand that literally feeds them (industry), when Beaumont has little else to drive its economy and fund its tax base. Kill the Golden Triangles version of a Golden Goose and the decline inevitably happens. Schools suffer. -
OK, I was reluctant to post this, but after some thought this is how I think it plays out: First, the disclaimer. I do NOT know the official tie breaking protocol. What I am posting is just my view of the next two weeks, Zero guarantees, just my thoughts. Here is my take: Crosby locked at #1. TC is currently #2, but has to play PNG and BH, both teams have winning records. BH should beat Dayton, and then plays TC. PNG plays TC, then beats Santa Fe Ned beats K-Park, loses to Crosby. Honestly I don't think TC is as good as their record at this point but I could be very wrong. They struggled with Ned, lost badly to Crosby, and had a weak pre-district. I think BH beats Dayton, then gets excited and narrowly beats TC in the last game. BH is gelling. BH ends 5-2 in 2nd place. TC probably splits PNG and BH, giving them a 5-2 record, but TC is 3rd because BH won head to head. I think PNG and Ned ties for 4th. I don't know how tie is broken. Points I guess. So, I think Crosby 1, BH 2, TC 3, Ned or PNG 4th. I am not trying to change anyone's mind or anything, nor am I speaking as a BH "homer" at all. Thats just how I see it ending up. Just an opinion! If you see obvious flaws, please let me know. Tell me what you think.

How do the tiebreaking scenarios work for 2nd thru 4th? Point differentials? -

I can see that too. I am just thinking ahead to a potential 2-3-4 round game, where a distant opponent is thinking "Vidor who?" before they step out on the field. 🙂 -

Unsolicited advice: If I was Vidor, I would want to remain in stealth mode. I would not want to be ranked at all. JMO! -

Only ONE single thing matters for BH right now. Beat Dayton. Nothing else. Accomplish that, then we are back in the discussion. Great game Eagles! -
