WOW, I usually hold the Newton faithful in very high regard.  This type of talk is exactly how you change the perception of a team and entire community.  Most of the Newton folks that I know are respectful and let the team speak for them on Friday nights.  I was at this ballgame and ONE of HH scores was after SOME subs were put into the game for Newton.  The JV score was very close and if not for a couple of miscues could have easily gone the other way.  

I do however agree with your comments regarding how to change a program.  This is coach Starks first year as AD in Hemphill and if that can be done he is the guy that will do it.  

Lastly, I would like to remind you that sometimes good things don't last.  The days of Newton suiting up 100+ kids on day one of season is over.   It may very well be you guys that are struggling in the not so distant future.

Stay humble it will make life easier!

HH gave this game away many times last night.  Many times!  It was the 5th possession of the second half before Hemphill ran an offensive play.

Rejoice knowing that Todd Is in the presence of our maker.  He no longer struggles to have good days, as now, all are great!  We will miss and remember him here on earth.  Rest in peace, my friend, as I know you will.  I will pray that your family finds peace and comfort in these trying times!  I will see you on the other side! 

Congrats to Tod Stark.  He will fill Vanya's shoes very nicely.  Good move on part of the board and admin at Hemphill.

Congrats on your retirement GV.  Very well earned and deserved!  Great coaching career!  Thanks for stopping back in Hemphill and breathing life back into that program!

I think this is something that Retiredfan1 would back me on.  It's a great way to honor loyal members and once active contributors!  For those that bring substance, entertainment, and knowledge to the boards.  Sometimes even those that keep things stirred up, peaking interest in the website!

I'm hearing that the West Sabine Lady Tigers softball program is doing some unreal things this year.  How about an update Pinelandflash and maybe some stats??????

I beg to differ.  This is a great organization for the kids, but this maybe where the problem lives.  Many parents/boat captains, and fishing team leaders forget that it is for and about the kids.  It has been my experience over the past 5 years (this is how long my son has been involved) that the creators and organizers of this organization place the student anglers first.  To them it is all about the kids.  Heck, in my son's 5 years of participating he has banked about $2,000 that will go toward college expenses and has only placed in the top 10 twice in 5 years.  He has the rest of this year and next to add to that. We tried another organization a couple years ago and got back to SETX as soon as possible.  

Lastly, for kids fishing (and hunting) is not about what you can win or how much money you can make.  You and your kid "wins" everytime they go out on the lake or into the hunting woods.  This gives them time away from social media and video games and exposes them to nature which should bring them closer to our creator which is something that we could all use.

Well, of course it's going to be both!!  Geez, how many 3AD2 teams can get on the field and play with WOS and Jasper!  Of course, the competition is weaker when you go from playing 2 teams that are ranked and 2 divisions bigger than you down to schools your own size.  Come on man!! 

However, they do seem to be getting better every week.
