So, Colmesneil vs Vidor?

I don’t post often but want to throw in my two cents. Livingston has performed exceptionally well this year, and has gotten progressively better each game. We’ve won 5 straight and rather handedly over Splendora last week. I’m not going to lie and say I know much about how good or bad Vidor is this year, but on my biased paper Livingston is looking like the better pick in the jungle.

Our QB has lived in Livingston his entire life. I’ve known him and his family since he was young. 
Y’all can dog Livingston all you want, because we haven’t been good in a decade- I think we’ve only had one season of .500 ball in the last 10 years, but give this group the credit they’re due. Moving down divisions and playing in a weak district helps, but to take the steps to overturn a tradition of lack luster football that this group has is difficult and rewarding for them to be a part of and enjoy.

There was talk about him before he got to high school he was going to be the man.
We're the biggest school in the Lake Livingston area. Not all the schools in our county offer football. If you want to play football it's either Livingston or Corrigan in Polk County. Leggett, Big Sandy, Goodrich and Onalaska don't offer the sport. So it's not unusual to see a kid come from one of those places either in Jr high or high school.
So stop with the sour grapes.

The problem is you need to score a lot and win by a lot, if you want to avoid tie breaker scenerios.  Livingston maxed out against Splendora. You lost to them. So you're behind before you step off the bus.
Just like you say the loss to Splendora is a fluke, the Huffman game at LCM was a fluke, except they won theirs. You're not beating Huffman. If you want at least second place, you have to win in blowout fashion and that's not happening.

We're talking about this year. And if the game was in Vidor, I might feel different about the outcome. But the game is in Livingston and the Pirates have the long bus ride. Hence why I'm picking Livingston.

Today I come to you with a heavy heart, my wife is in the hospital in the Woodlands and it's not going well, her body is shutting down and its really nothing more that can be done but prayers so if you plz the Alphonse family appreciates it. My apologies....I misunderstood, but you are exactly right. There are different expectations and there should be. This Forum isn't a D1 scouting tool or only for legacy powerhouses. We all love it when our local schools go deep in the playoffs or bring back a ring!  The majority of these kids aren't going D1, or D2 for that matter but it doesnt mean we dont get excited for a solid season, perhaps a District Championship with some kids that will never get another snap once they grab their diploma. Small school high school football is still high school football. The big school "D1" enthusiasts on here chuckle and are extremely quick to blow out others candles. When you have 18-20 kids TOTAL, your starters never step off the field...one injury potentially changes the outcome of the entire season. It's a much different animal once you drop below 3A ball. Oh well, Go Pirates!

What a way to kick off the season with a Diboll and Corrigan scrimmage. Several on both teams are either related or friends so I’m not surprised there was a little a emotional altercation at the end. Personally my dad is from Corrigan and my mom is from Diboll so I love both.
