Whatcha got against huffman?
Huffman a 1 trick pony. No wonder they fought to get Ardoin off HF varsity this year. It will keep them from losing by 40. When one kid scores over 50% of your team's points, your not that good. HF and HJ can score from several positions. HF having about 5-6 guys that can go for 10 or more points a game.

I agree.  But wouldn’t be surprised if they split with HF again.  Hope they both beat the brakes off Huffman.Â
HF will beat HJ. Both teams are equally matched athletically (HF actually may have a slit edge)Â and will come down to coaching. Rideaux is a far better coach then Davis. HJ sits in the same defense and press the whole game.

Based on talent, no one should be able to give them a close game.  They have multiple high major kids on that team.  But when dealing with 15-18 yo kids, anything is possible.Â
They still have to find the leader of that squad. Talent doesn't equate to leadership always, just production. Kasen was the alpha and leader of that squad. Who will take his place?

Hightower HS is still receiving basketball transfers into the program, those transfers are making Yates transfer kids from last year look small and slow.   I can't wait to see BU vs Hightower Match Up.
BU will not beat Hightower. Will be a good game, but Hightower has a general surrounded by solders who will follow him. Who's the leader at BU? You might say Arceneaux, but that's not a given at all. The undisputed leader of Hightower is Griggs and this team is better then last yearsÂ

Humble Summer Creek has the backcourt to give them fits.
My preseason rankings will be out soon and it will reflect this.
Summer creek will be fast and up tempo. BU will have some growing pains at the guard position, but will be solid from the SG, SF, and wing positionÂ

He was there leading scorer?
Yes the kid that was their leading scorer and made 1st team all district had never played school ball before lol. He was a straight up park baller who only organized basketball experience was from summer league ball. That's actually scary. This kid is just learning how to play basketball and was first team all districtÂ
-
Im not going to lie. I'm not a fan of a couple fo the schools involved if that's not evident already lol. I think it was either Huffman or HJ that did this as HF is the only other team in that district that cam challenge them for the title and seeing that Huffman's superintendent may have a son or relative on the team makes it even more telling to the bias. They run that districtÂ

Cardinal1 is on top of this thing!! You should get with the boys family and represent them as they try to make this right. Maybe Tx hoops could be part of your team too! Heard he's a heck of a attorney!
If you notice I'm just repeating the same facts, but getting different answers from the same folks. That means they know this sounds fishy and just don't want to admit it lol

I wouldn’t think the UIL would have any control over an athlete leaving a UIL school going to a private academy.Â
I don't think the UIL will have a problem with a kid going from a private school to the school they pay taxes at, but apparently so of the admins on the DEC of that district is hoping they do Lmbo! I hope they appeal and win. If so those district games are going to be very heated with some bad casualties lol

What’s worse, the DEC is saying that if your kid wants to play varsity athletics, he has to go to private school.  There is not even a public school option for him.  This can’t be right.  And if so, may be the dumbest DEC decision I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen some pretty idiotic ones. Â
That's all I'm saying in this instance. They may have an argument for the others as one played JV due to UIL rules, but denying a kid coming from a private school to the school he's zoned to is a head scratcher to me and all I'm getting is "the trend" which is understandable if he was coming from another ISD school or just moving into the district but that's not the case at all

So is the athletic purpose rule for UIL to UIL transfers or all transfers? Â
Good question. I guess not as far as this decision is concerned.Â

His daddy been telling people for over a year that he was goin to Fannett to play for Tigee. Thats why it's seen as an athletic move. Â
Also his dad a coach right? Wouldn't he talk to the new head coach prior to his son moving the following year to get to know him?Â

So if his dad has said for over a year that he was going HF and Tigee only been there since last school year, then that means the decision was already made before last season right?Â

I don’t think anyone is insinuating that. This rule doesn’t apply to only certain schools. Every team in every district has the same options . The rule is pretty well cut and dry. Students can’t transfer for athletic purposes. If there’s an issue with that do away with the rule.Â
But how do you prove that a kid that has lived in your district but went to private school is returning to the district is for athletic purposes? How is that possible unless the ISD school is now academic performance school which I don't think HF is. Correct me if I'm wrong. I mean all I've read from folks is the rule that shouldn't apply here to this particular player. Maybe to the others, but not here.

Fannett had success last year because of 2 move ins showed up after the coach got hired.
Not my arguement at all as I don't know their situation or reasons why they came. I know one was a park baller from what I was told and never played for any school. I'm on why a kid who is from the district was denied. He has nothing to do with kids moving into the district from Beaumont. He's from there and should have the right to play for his zoned school. So again what I'm seeing is he's being punished for the actions of others

Nah I’m saying they are seeing a trend guys coming to Fannett from getting recruited that’s athletic reasons.Â
That's an assumption, but programs begin to have success always when a good coach shows up. Let's not act like other programs don't have transfers. HJ and East Chambers do it frequently, but no one says anything. It seems like some folks are targeting the HF coach and a kid got caught in the middle. I'm waiting to see if anyone knows the answer to my question about the Huffman player and the superintendent. If that's his son or relative, it would show some bias on his part as Huffman has been basketball kings if this district. Now you drop HJ and HF in it and that title is at stake now. Just seems fishy to me

Hey it’s real simple there is a trend, 4 players in a year and if they never got those players Fannett doesn’t win 10 games.Â
Yeah I hear you, so they voted against this kid based on what happened last year? That's what you're saying?
-
Question: Is Grey Soileau the son or of relation to Dr. Benny Soileau Huffman superintendent? He's on the DEC.Â
-
So let me get this right. Folks are actually insinuating that no other basketball program in that district has players that transferred in? Or any good basketball program for that matter?
Â

Everyone sees the trend, why else did he transfer to Fannett?? His dad  was coaching him by the way talk talk , why wouldn’t you want to be coach by ur dad?? Also  Fannett wouldn’t have been good if they didn’t have the 2 moves in last year, the have 4 in less than a year just doesn’t add up go me.Â
Yeah but if you're his dad and have been to back to back state title games, why would you give up your best player? Also your question of why wouldn't you want to be coached by your dad raise another tell that he didn't leave for athletic reasons because why wouldn't a kid want to be coached by his dad who he'shad success under. Good question my friend. You keep bringing up other players and what HF might be doing. That has nothing to do with this kid as he is from HF and a former student. The others weren't. Seems as if he's being judge unfairly based on the actions of others.Â
-
I thought HF was a good academic school? Am I being fooled or something about that? It just seems like folks are really shocked that a kid would leave a charter school to go there as if it's a trash school academically.

If the opportunities and programs haven’t changed it sure leads one to believe that the move was made for athletic purposes which is the reason for the rule. I hope for the young mans sake this is resolved quickly where he can concentrate on his game. I’m sure he just wants play ball.Â
The opportunities could exactly be the reason he changed lol. It's a STEM school as in Science, technology, engineering, and math. Smh Who are we to say that he decided to leave because he didn't want to go into those fields? Seems like there's some real homers in here lmbo!

How did you come to that assessment? Please elaborate

Lol the kid at Huffman is a solid player, he's no Braylon Bush by far 🤣. Remember this Huffman team lost to a young inexperienced HF team in the playoffs last year. He only scored 5pts in that game. The kid who locked him down is still at HF folks
