Nobody believes this BS.  Those are all bmt kids.  They all play for SBG.  Coach was with SBG.  Recruit all you want, but you'll still get third behind HJ and Huffman.

LOL! SBG practices at HJ facilities! The organization head is a coach at HJ! lol The coach of SBG is from Houston and is the head coach at a 6a school out there. What the heck are you talking about? SBG is HJ kids bro. they may have a few from other schools, but they are HJ kids mostly. Clay Davis Jr. plays for SBG LMBO!

My question about Fannett and Lumberton was about State Rankings. I transitioned to the Lumberton LCM district. Just wondering about the area in general as far as new players vs returners.

H-F returns basically their entire team plus two scorers. One was on JV and probably the best player in the school because of transfer rules and the other is transfering into the school. They will be really good, but not being early ranked is fair. They will be by mid season

  3. So are we really suggesting that all of HJ players are from sour lake? 😂 HF has one player from Beaumont that transferred and he had to play JV. Their two main players last year are from cheeks which is a Beaumont address but zoned for HF. The kid they are getting this year is also from Cheeks and was going to a charter school where his dad worked. The problem is it looks as if some folks are crying foul because they know that's what their school does. HF simply hired a coach that caused the a few of the school's basketball talent to come home. If they're zoned for HF how the heck is that recruiting?

I never got why that makes people mad.  If a player wants to go to a new school he should.  That's noone elses business.  Who cares if Hampshire Fannett gets a couple transfers?!!

Because some coaches enjoy only having to coach against scrubs in district with 1 or 2 good teams.

Wouldn't he have to attend a Port Arthur school? I know many had a problem with some of the new players HF brought in last year, this seems like another one of those cases.

He's not from PA,Tekoa is a charter school that his dad works at. From I've been told they live in cheeks, him and his brother and sister where going to Tekoa because of their dad.

From reading past post sounds like this could be Mr. Ardoin...if so let your sons game speak for itself

😂 no just some one who knows hoops both during high school season and summer. You can't deny a kid's talent when 4 ranking systems has him on it. My list was based on the players that were on those list from our area. The top 9 were on all 4 ranking systems, then you break it down by skill and stats. I don't know every player in SETX because a lot of them just play for their school and not AAU or high profile camps. Arceneaux, Yates, Porchie, Ardoin, Sears, Dorsey, Dews, Brock, and Jackson  (Abrams as well he just moved to summer Creek from memorial and is now considered Houston area) all are ranked in multiple rankings, all are selected for high profile camps such as the Pangos, SW Exposure, Next Wave, OTR Exposure camp, etc... If there are other kids in SETX with those credentials then post them so everyone can see. The objective is to know all the players in our area, not criticize kids because of personal opinions.

All depends on what you consider SETX.

If it is what this site goes by (every team in all the districts that we cover) then your list will be leaving out several deserving players.

    Players like the following:

    Kaleb Stewart       Atascocita

    Javon Jackson      Summer Creek

    LaVar Johnson       CE King

    Reyce Allen             Summer Creek

    Tom Hart               Atascocita

    Christian Ashby     Atascocita

    Cameron Morris     Atascocita

    Jacob Harvey         Huffman

    Justin Collins         Atascocita

    Jakori Marshall      North Shore

    PJ Haggerty            Crosby

    Amaree Abram       Summer Creek

    Sam Bradford          Goose Creek Memorial

    Sean Elkington        Crosby

    Karter Dutton           Summer Creek

    Jaylen Johnson        Summer Creek

    Conner Miller            Summer Creek

    Joey Hubbard          New Caney

    Demi Areola             Kingwood

    Angel Johnson       Atascocita

    Avant Coleman       Goose Creek Memorial

    Clovis McCain         Texas City

    Marquis Neal           Channelview

    Just to name a few.

    That's Houston area

I know everyone has a different opinion but are you saying the 3rd best player in the area was on a losing team last year that got beat by 30 by Lumberton and lost to West Hardin? Your #10 guy was a JV player on a team that didn’t win their district? Surely Memorial has some players who belong on this list.

Teams lose to better teams, how a player plays against those teams tells who they are. Scoring 39 against West Hardin and 26 against Lumberton in a losing effort isn't a reflection on the player at all. He's there because of his state ranking in his class and previous two years. He's joining a team that has talent this year. Dorsey was the starting PG for HF and if anyone saw him play, they would know he's legit. Anyway that was my list and opinion, which I figure would have others post theirs so that folks could see every player in the area.

In the rankings!!! Harvey kid is a stud, figured he would be higher.

This is the hidden content, please

He'll get tested in district this year for sure with HJ and HF joining in their district. I saw him this summer, elite shooter. The question will be can he create and defend, or just shoot. He was locked down in the playoffs last year by HF guards

  10. BU, HF, HJ, and maybe Lumberton will be the teams to watch. Nederland and Silsbee will also be tough this year as always, just not contenders I don't believe. As far as players go, Abrams at Memorial (if he stays), BU big 3 in Yates, Arcenueax, and Porchie, Brock at Lumberton, Jackson (i believe?) at Nederland, HF in Dorsey, Coleman, their big man( don't know his name), and I believe Ardoin from Tekoa Academy will be there next year, HJ has Sears and Porter. Pretty much 4A will be the division to watch next year.

Those are good teams but neither are top 25 in state except maybe Crosby to my knowledge. United is top 10 in 6A this year. The biggest challenge to United in 5A region 3 would probably be PA Memorial depending on what they got coming back. If they make it to state they may have to deal with Lancaster.

Hightower is state ranked and in the regional Tournament after beating PA Memorial and Crosby.

What was informative about the article that it happened in an urban area at an urban school, very unfortunate situation where a young man lost his life. But cmon you dont schools in the suburbs like Argyle, highland park or Bridgeport cheat it’ll never get brought to light i wonder wht, because they have money . It’s a game of have and have nots !!!

If schools are doing it, it's not to the extent of this. They left two teenagers by themselves to live in an apartment for athletic purposes. Now one can say that it would be the same as if they were in college, but a kid lost his life over a dumb video game. I dont think we will ever have anything like that in our area as all our schools are within close proximity of each other and most have legitimate family all over this area.

  13. I just hope that folks don't try and hinder what's going on at HF. Man let them folks have something to cheer for. It's been a while since they had anything to pack the gym for and that crowd at EC when they played Huffman was amazing. The majority of that program is sophomores and freshmen, just a hand full of juniors. Those juniors and the one senior I'm sure were tired of getting their tails kicked by everyone. Folks just need to leave well enough alone and enjoy the games. Next season in that district will now have at least 6 highly competitive games with HJ, Huffman, and HF. Liberty isn't an easy win either

I'm only hating on a poster who repeatedly is posting statements about kids that I know for a fact are false.

He stated that Adams NEVER played for Silsbee Middle school and stated that Bush NEVER lived in Silsbee. Those are lies and I will defend the truth on those two every time.

Yeah he played there for sure, I remember that.

VERBATIM QUOTE FROM NICK SABAN AT ALABAMA:

If you’re going to transfer to different schools during your high school years, I already do NOT want to recruit you…..because I know you do not have perseverance and grit

Yeah that's already been proven to be false on his account 😂. Also that's football and a kid transfering to another school isn't a big deal at all. Multiple schools, yes, as he said "schools" not school. Basketball players transfer all the time especially with Academies and private schools.

Doesn’t prove he’s following rules at all lol.  Probably more so proves he’s willing to break the rules if he’s able. I do believe he intended on that kid playing varsity this year. UIL was just able to enforce the rule in that instance. Knowing that he’s probably willing to break the rules how would anyone know he didn’t find loop holes to get the other 2 kids approved.

Knowing he's willing to break the rules? HF is an open enrollment campus and that kid is a very good student as well as an upstanding young man. HF apparently was more then happy to have him enroll there, but he doesn't live in the district and he played last year at BU, so he had to sit per UIL rules. He and the other two from BU are friends and teammates in the summer as I said before. He was the only one that didn't live in the district. The other two live in the district and that's a fact. I know both of them and their families as well as the kid who will be possibly attending HF next year from a charter school and was going there for academics and NCAA eligibility purposes regardless of who was the coach. He's a ranked player who doesn't need a highly touted high school program, just one that is NCAA approved. Anyways they all live in the HF district!!!
