    LCM 1-9 maybe 2-8

No way they only win one or two games with BC and HJ on the schedule.  Not to mention the district is Charmin soft besides Lumberton and Vidor.

But your prediction leads me to this.  Would a 2-8 or 3-7 record cause the Peevey fan boys/brother in laws to question their devotion?  What is the expectation and what is "not good enough?"

  2. I heard that in the past no one would go to the Rusk football games.  To solve the problem, they started doing Friday night field trips from the local mental institution to the football games and now the atmosphere is wild.  Like Mr. Barrier said...buckle up!

    *heard that from a coworker.

To be fair… It’s a summer league and I imagine HJ and even EC don’t have most of their varsity guys playing. Or they might but the big factor is Todd Sutherland and Clay Davis aren’t on the sidelines coaching. Not saying Evadale won’t be improved but going from what they were last year to all of a sudden state tournament contenders this year might be a big reach

None of what you've said is wrong, but would you be surprised if I said Jason Wilkins has gone farther in the playoffs than Clay Davis ever has?

  4. They definitely all try to pull in kids from other schools.  I think maybe others are smoother and quieter about it, though.  This kid leaving mid season and showing up at the cross town school the next day is just a bad look.  Bad on the kid as well.  Doesn't seem like a very loyal kid.  If I were the WOS coach I wouldn't allow him to play.

  5. So take your best freshmen players and put them on your cross town rivals sidelines unsupervised?  Seems like a way to get your best kids snagged.  My coworker said the LCM head coach used to pick up the WOS kid and bring him to LCM workouts while the kid was enrolled in WOS still.

  6. My west orange guy says that kid lives in LCM district.  He also said lcm coaches have been trying to get him over there for years.  Whole thing was strange with him transferring to lcm mid season and then the running back doing the same.

It's funny how that works when LCM gets quality players.... other not so good ones don't get held up in the process.. yeah I get times have changed and maybe rules too but ask me how I know. I lived it and seen it every year my 4 years of playing. Besides we all know he went to lcm for academic purposes only 🙃 lol

Are you saying that good players transferring to LCM get denied, but at other local schools they'd be cleared to play?

I heard the WOS QB has moved back to WOS. How does this impact the bears? I know he was one of the key transfers they were counting on.

No way thats true.  Why would that kid just move back to West Orange after sitting all of last year?

McMahon, Remi/Alex Connell (sorry GMan, just don’t have the team accomplishments)

Tyler Edwards, Kreston Richardson. If not for an off shooting night in Kirbyville and some questionable they were on a fast track to go to state.

Bryan Whitmire and there’s a couple of guys from those late 90s early 2000s teams to be mentioned.

Those 6 are probably where you start. Although i’m sure some guys from those regional teams in early 2000s will argue.

Let me add to this so someone doesn’t come and rebuttal about the 50 and 60s. I have no knowledge of those guys.

I don't know any of the Buna players from the 60's, but they won like six state titles.  I would imagine they had a couple guys better than Kreston Richardson (no disrespect as I've never seen or even heard of him).  Rumor has it the days of Buna as a power are over and coaches are desperately trying to get out of there.

There are only 2… one that will add some depth but I don’t see starting. The best addition will probably be the incoming freshman they have.

You don't think the kid from West Brook can start on that team?  He's the best player in the district not names Sells...if Sells is even better than him.  Great pickup!

  11. I didn't set any goal posts.  Thread is best player ever from a school.  Didn't say best player ever while in high school.  Do what you will with that.  I think a an NBA player in any era is probably better than a Southland player.  No disrespect to Weisbrod because he was great and probably did way more with much less.

Even if you want to go with Hefner as the collegiate player he has had a hard time finding a role on the team. Weisbrod was a very very good player once he moved back home. Dominated the juco level and then came in and was one of the top 5 players in the confrence for two years.

Jamie Weaver averaged 3 points a game at Houston and then had to transfer to Hawaii where he didn’t even end up finishing out playing basketball.

If you want to go with the guy who played HS ball in the 40s and 50s go ahead I guess.

Point is, those other two have been to better programs, and Hefner was 100% the better prospect, but no one who has played at Nederland has been better than Colton.

Maybe where you're from, winning a gold medal and NBA titles is common enough to disregard?  Maybe Hefner and Jamie Weaver would have dominated juco and southland basketball.  We'll never know, but we do know that Weisbrod couldn't play at A&M or Houston because they didn't offer him a scholarship.

Everyone has their own opinions and that's what makes this fun.  Hell, I once saw someone rank themselves top 10 all time at a school they didn't even go to.  You never no what other people think and there's really no wrong answers.

Since everyone is down on Buna, I’ll say they make the playoffs and give the upper teams some trouble. Wilson is working hard and will get the most out of a scrappy squad.

You're probably right.  A lot of times teams are considered overrated so much that they become underrated.  I think Warren and Anahuac have a shot, but Buna likely outperforms those two.
