  1. I’ve been hearing this “make America great again” mess ‘til I’m about sick. America has never been not great in my opinion. I’d like some of the faithful to give their opinions on when, before Trump, the last time America was great.
  2. Same reason FOX numbers are probably about reversed. It’s not news. It’s entertainment. Opinions designed to capture market segments. Pin blame. Polarize. Harmony don’t sell air time. Any salespeople on here have surely heard oh the “wedge” technique.
  3. You nor anyone else can reliably make that claim about our Forefathers. Their concept of immigration was a world apart from today. Read some history. [Hidden Content]

    Today? Probably.

It’s not approval. It’s a right of freedom. The ACLU defended Panthers, it also defended the Klan. That’s what we stand for. Unfortunately President Weasel doesn’t see it that way.

If it’s done within the limits of the law, I would not take exception, nor would I object to faculty participation, again within the rule or law. Free speech is free speech, after all. I oppose those opinions, but would not oppress them. Unlike the Weasel.

I side with academic freedom and freedom of speech, not the politicization of such. I sided with the rights of the Charlottesville haters until they started running over people. What’s your beef?
  8. Trump knows that. He uses it to shield his own ignorance.
  9. I ain’t hiding my light under a basket, Girl.
  10. 1) Failure to recognize the separation of powers by ignoring the Supreme Court. 2) Talking about a third term without the numbers to amend the Constitution accordingly 3) Attacking the First Amendment by selectively targeting free speech he doesn’t like. All this just in the first 100 days.
  11. The argument over states vs. federal power goes back to Adams vs. Jefferson. The 10th amendment was needed for ratification. It was also played a central role in the events leading to the Civil War. So, the argument is original in its nature. That’s the beauty of the document. It allows room for the pendulum to swing with the times. Truly unique. Why the Weasel wants to destroy it is beyond me.
  12. That’s a matter of opinion. When’s the last time you read Article 1, Section 3, Clause 3? That broadens Federal authority considerably, and kind of wrecks your 10th amendment theory.
  13. What is the relevance? When’s the last time you read the Preamble? How does wrecking the CDC, for one, promote the general welfare?
  14. I associate the Weasel with failure. C’mon, what kind of genius bankrupts a casino?
  15. Enough to say what the Weasel did was illegal.
  16. Typical MAGA answer. A 2-1 majority still not enough. Trump is your god.
  17. Ummmmm….how many Republicans on the Supreme Court?
  18. I don’t have a problem cutting wasteful spending. I have a problem with slash and burn. That’s DOGE.
  19. No, it won’t. China doesn’t need us more than we need them. They will form new alliances with the EU. They’ll grow their soybeans on all that land they are buying in Africa. You don’t win a war by beating yourself up.
  20. Multiply that by tens of millions (people). Your numbers represent an increase of around 20%. That’s a 20% inflation rate. All for a plan that will fail.
  21. Healthcare costs have nothing to do with the government. If anything, Medicare helps keep costs down by with their pricing schedules. DOGE can’t help much on this one. What is $84 billion against $3 trillion (total cost, public and private).
  22. Yes, I was somewhat surprised to get a heart from Reagan. We agree on the symptoms, but I’m pretty sure we won’t agree on the cure. Without lobbying reform and campaign finance reform, Big Pharma and the Insurance Industry will continue to pick our pockets. We do pay the most as a percentage of GDP for healthcare with inferior outcomes. I did extensive research on this using the CIA’s World Fact Book a few years back. My career was in insurance. For all you youngsters out there approaching Medicare eligibility DO NOT buy an Advantage plan. Keep your Medicare rights. AARP’s plan with United Healthcare and Mutual of Omaha sell good Supplements. At least, United is good for now (that’s what I have).
  23. You are 100% correct. All you really have to do is consider this: When open enrollment comes around, Advantage plans are advertised at least 10 times as much as Supplement plans. Why you think that is? Companies advertise the most for the plans that make THEM the most money. With advantage plans, you sign your Medicare rights over to the insurance company, your premium withheld from Social Security goes to them, and they get to direct your care.
