Newton Texas winning by 50, Calvin and Willie not here to save them this year!!!

where did that come from, neither team has had a real practice for at least a week until monday. I think they both will be rusty and out of shape. Endurance will be the key late and hope no injuries,,just a good clean game. JMO,

According to Maxpreps Since 2004 Newton has winning records against Bridge City (4-1) Orangefied  (3-2) Silsbee (4-2) and Liberty (2-0).  Couldn't find anything on LCM.  Let's remember our history before making brash comments.

LCM has 11 wins and only 4 loses to Newton

I do  hope that you realize that  all but 2 of those games were before 1974 and Little Cyprus was not even consolidated with  Mauriceville then.  Think about relying  on the past. Now in the  1960's Little Cyprus had Newton's number but they haven't since becoming LC-M.

I just heard about this and JISD is making a huge mistake...

I heard that they waited until registering to be on school board election time was up. I hope there is alot of write opposition in the election. Send a message. If I am not mistaken, Jasper has had a new superintendent three or four years in a row. Something isn't right in J-town.JMO

  4. Injury bug must have bit them, I know they lost a lot of talent last year. Remember they beat a descent Jefferson team. Injuries has so much to do with small schools, sometimes there is a pretty big step down from first teamers and replacements. anyway Newton needs to start playing with a purpose because anyone can get in quicksand. Don't think  we will but I have seen several Eagle teams lose to descent teams that we should of won, just some bad breaks at wrong time. I just don't want us to get over-confident.JMO

MaxPreps small schools national football rankings
Oxbridge Academy edges Trinity Christian Academy for No. 1 spot.
    By Kevin Askeland | MaxPreps.com

"For three straight years, Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Fla.) has been the small school powerhouse in the nation, but this year another Florida small school is making a run at the top.

Oxbridge Academy (West Palm Beach, Fla.) has moved into the top spot after starting the season at No. 2. Oxbridge Academy has just one loss on its schedule and that was to national power IMG Academy. Among the big wins for Oxbridge Academy include victories over Carol City (Miami), Flanagan (Pembroke Pines) and American Heritage (Delray Beach).

Trinity Christian Academy, which comes in at No. 2, has an uncharacteristic three losses on its schedule, falling to IMG Academy, Cocoa and Lincoln (Tallahassee).

Maryville (Mo.) is 10-0 and comes in at No. 3 while another Florida team, Madison County, is No. 4. Perennial Ohio small school state champion Marion Local (Maria Stein, Ohio) comes in at No. 5.

Small schools are those schools that belong to state enrollment divisions with schools that generally have under 1,000 students.
Rankings are based on the MaxPreps computer rankings.
Teams are listed with their record and their ranking.
