I pray that these contest will make our children stronger leaders for tomorrow and learn that our Lord is with them always, Through the easy times and through the rough times when they need the faith that our Lord is with us always. I am going with Jasper 42-35 in a shoot-out. I hope Jasper defense can put some pressure on the Q-back  and the offense will just ground and pound. Anyway, pulling for the bulldogs. bark,bark,then bite bite. JMO

Rankings are ok but the good thing about Texas is you can prove everyone wrong like Farmersville did a few years ago. One of the girl named schools (Mildred or Melissa) also won state without ever being ranked. The boys and coaches get to earn everything for themselves without voting having anything to do with it.             as Nike says " Just Do It"

Win or lose ,this game will be a battle between exceptional 3a d2 teams. I think they will play each other twice and it will help both teams to get  hit in the mouth.(I pray that no-one gets injured and for safe travel for everyone coming and going from the game.) If Newton and C.-C. were to split two games, I hope we win the second  game with each other. Of course, both of us has to remember Franklin.

I didn't know you had to be good in track to be good in football but I guess it is. I think Newton did better than C.C. in the Track state meet last year but I think Football is a separate Beast. JMHO

Both teams have athletes everywhere and have great tradition. I believe turn-overs and half time adjustments will win this game. We have all kinds of respect for C.C. as they have for Newton. I hope for a clean game and one where the officials aren't throwing a flag every play. I pray the game will be injury free and I think we will meet again in the quarter-finals.JMO 

I will take Jasper 35-21.Jasper is starting to take there stride.JMHO

ok,not as good as you guys but playing stronger opponents until district. We will probably know a lot after October 24 game about each other. I hope we all have injury free next couple of weeks.

I think someone should start a West-Orange- Hardin- Jefferson thread. I am from Newton and I thought our game was over Friday night. That being said, West-Orange has already regrouped and they will be someone that will be ready for anyone anywhere. also playing quality teams don't just help the kids. It mentally prepares the coaches for better teams in the play-offs.JMO

West Orange will be making a statement in practice. We are West Orange ! This game could get ugly in a hurry. West Orange comes out and K.O. Liberty in the first quarter. West Orange 56- Liberty 0. I think West Orange will play the rest of the season with an attitude of sending a message that We are West -Orange, get ready for what is coming! JMHO 

I watched Hardin-Jefferson play against Jasper and they ran the ball straight up the middle down Jasper throat ,Jasper couldn't stop them and I don't think Orangefield can stop them either. The Hawks  on defense hustled and had great pursuit angles the whole game. I hope Orangefield does good but I predict the score to be H-J 42- O-field 28. Jmo

I think the last Orangefield  beat Newton was in 1988. I  like Newton 35-14.

Center offensive line is big and line up foot to foot making a defensive rush up middle tough. If you don't get pressure on Q-back he can hurt you . He is a good athlete, receivers  are o k. There defense didn't impress me but Jasper turned the ball  over to them about as much as they did to the Hawks. I think the Hawks win 28-14. Best of luck to both teams  and hope you all  come out injury free.

I was wrong about this game. I watched  Jasper in  turn-over torment, watched wide-open receiver drop passes, running-backs running to opposite side of where play was meant to go, defense , I haven't a clue what was happening their. I go to watch my grandson play & I don't know how he will grade out but he impressed the heck out of me. just a shout to # 56 , you were a bulldozier  last night. District starts next week for them  so a new season begins, saying that if the turn-over bug don't get straightened out,it could be a rough season. I also seen a few players fold up the tents after we fell behind by 2 touchdowns. I never thought I would see that in a Jasper player but I am sure Coach Barbay will address everything I just mentioned. JMHO

Newton-Silsbee I think 2008 Newton scored late to go up by 1 and Silsbee missed a 40 yard field goal on last play.

Newton- Silsbee in 2010 Newton scored with seconds to go in game and was down by 1 and went for 2 points and didn't make it. all four games came down to the final seconds. jmo

E C beat the pirates 44-0 , I think K-ville will do about the same.

I watched H-J against Jasper and they are solid. Kountze will not be able to run on them.  H-J offense just lines up and pounds you and then will throw when you sell out to stop the run. #7 is someone to reckon with. He is a Bull. H-J 49-14 Kountze. just to much power. jmo

Jasper 35- H J 21 might be a lot of scoreing but I think Jasper will be physical and the hits might  be highlight material. I have a grandson playing for Jasper that makes me  proud .
