I am a little embarrassed that we forgot to pay the utility bill or  our scoreboard keeps getting unplugged.Good game Orangefield,you won and deserved it. Newton, will you ever go on the second hut , I hope so. .

When you beat Kirbyville and Newton back to back, I think Bridge City is way under-rated. Bridge City should take this one.

Jasper will be on Vidor like a cat playing with a mouse. Jasper by 21

 hb Jaron Hanks (Newton) rushed for 235 yards  and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries. Also had a 2 point conversion.

   I  see this game being close, with-in 14 points .B. C. has came a long ways. Saying that if either team rest on this past weeks play,they could be the loser. Generally, the kids have a slump or big jump in between first and second game.Also according to how banged up each team will be.I like what I saw with Newton Friday night and B.C. is a quality team but  will pick Newton .                 

Practice at Kirbyville will be a lot more spirited this week .The kids will be teachable and coachable , they know they are beatable now. I look for them to show huge improvements this week. Good luck in district and play-offs.

Father God, I pray for total and complete healing in Coach W T Johnston body. He is one of yours and he leads so many people in the right direction and shows them good true values. Again, I ask for to and complete healing for Coach W T Johnston. Thank you Father!

   if Jasper doesn't do better than 9-2,they will be under achievers.(Last year they were 9-4  going 3 rounds deep in the play-off's )

I believe Bridge City will be 3 TD's better this year just because of new coach and young team. I hope the kids and followers bring positive attitudes as season progresses. If they do, they could sneak in the play-offs. probably 5-5 or maybe 5-6.JMO

I hope they can figure out the parking to all this because if you have ever been to the Alamo stadium/WPA stadium , you would know that you might have to park 1/4 mile away without much handicap parking at all. If you are my age,walking long distances just gets to doing less  of things you love because it is to exhausting.JMHO

Jasper had two seniors. #18 Daniel Adams who played defensive back and my grandson #56 Alec Williams and he played offensive tackle. Kirbyville had two players , West Sabine had two players East Chambers was represented and West-Orange had at least four players. They didn't have programs but it was a good game full of talent.JMHO

I went and seen some talented seniors. Good luck to all of them. I felt bad for the one that got hurt early in the game. Anyway, good luck to these seniors.

I don't know where to post this but I was told by a ex- Newton coach that  the Newton football team left Newton Dec. 18,2014 at 7;30 AM  for Arlington to play for State Championship at 5;00 PM that evening. If this  is so , we have no gripe at anyone but ourselves for not making the school send the  kids wednesday  evening and give them some rest. This was for our community, school, and the kids and I guess we just don't care.
