i hope so, Newton with all of its athletes  hasn't faced a passing team that will do all the picks and rub patterns like Gilmer. I think we should win handily but teams i have never seen tends to make me nervous.

i would almost bet the bank that Newton's off season program is still Bigger, Faster and Stronger  and  i think they started using that program in the mid 80's. Gene pool is great but if you don't have the program that the kids will buy into and good coaching , you could have a week season. Also with a good gene pool, the program tends to make average athletes become good athletes and good athletes  become real good athletes and great athletes become maybe D1 athletes,. I would think are pee wee football team is somewhat based on the high school program .if kids do the same things repeatedly enough, it becomes instinct to them. JMHO

if Liberty is one denominational and don't mix things up ,they will get beat. the run defense is Diboll main strength.

i hope Silsbee game isn't in Silsbee. a beautiful field but it doesn't do well in rain.

This one could get ugly. Bridge City needs a balanced attack.They want run on Jasper either.

got to go with Diboll, Cardinals with a new coach and a heavy running team.  if Newton couldn't run at will on the Jacks last year, I don't see the Cardinals being able to run. The Lumberjacks are gonna be salty. JMO

My heart goes out to you. Don't know what to say , i will be praying for you, family and friends. we lost our middle son a year ago and still miss him. praying for you.

Diboll had a run defense last year that pretty much held Newton's rushing attack  in check.  there pass defense didn't fair as well. If teams can run and pass equally well, they could give Diboll some problems.i think heavy run teams are going to be surprised.JMO

This might sound crazy but I am glad these teams will play us. Win or lose, we have nothing to hang our heads about. These teams have nothing to gain and everything to lose playing a 3A school. Most people in 4A doesn't know how good a program we have. Just proud they are playing us. JMO

Here’s the deal, my friend...I’ll grant you that Newton has a pretty good team returning. But you guys haven’t proven anything other than the fact that last year you blew through the JV playoffs. I can tell that y’all know the title is a joke because all that y’all did was have a link sale and a car wash to buy those kids those plastic state rings... but I digress. 

Newton Fan was on here earlier this summer talking about how the Eagles could have whipped Carthage.... talking about how this is their year to beat the WOS Mustangs who are looking to return to the 4AD2 State Championship game... NOT the 3AD2 game. 

Even if the Eagles stumble into four consecutive title games, they won’t be as impressive as WOS’s run because you guys have been playing in lil’ ol’ 3A D2 against teams from schools that none of us have ever heard of or could even find on a map. 

In short, I have a quote for you. “You ain’t _______, ain’t ever been _______, and your kids ain’t ever gonna be ________..... why? Because you’re from Newton.”

I figured Jadrian Mcgraw of Newton would have been on the list of linebackers. he is on your list of top prospects and he was 3rd team all-state last year. JMO
