AAW you know if the purple clad had underperformed I'd of called 'em out. I am an Indian fan, but not a homer. Morse impressed the hell outta me Friday. He had great presence in the pocket, moves away from pressure while still looking up field and throws a nice ball, even on the run. Seems like he is maturing as a QB nicely.
I'm with Ash. Just seemed like a poor assesment from a sports journalist. And thats my opinion. I know several others that were there that have a similar opinion.

And we returned just about everyone and added an extremely talented 2016 class to the mix.
I think the local 5A district has improved as a whole. Foreman was great for Central (now can they keep him?) and Suggs will do well with Ozens talent. Lumberton has a good group just now hiting Varsity. Nederland is well Nederland (and I mean that in a good way). GCM is a big ?, but I suspect they will make the district more competitive. And Lee has had talent, just needs a strong staff. Vidor I'm just not sure about.

Just looking at the two teams I figure it must have been an Alabama thing and not a Hoover specific thing.
Side note. Why play a game at mid day in the sun in August in the South on hot ass turf? Kids droppin' like flies out there with cramps.

Most of those guys are newer working with some of the vets in the scrimmages. Its preseason for them to.

His back was the issue in College Station last month. He did run for about ten up the middle one play and lowered his shoulder instead of sliding. Love the aggression, but needs to stay healthy also.

Yes. But not 100% of the time.

LCM was big up front, but we knew this from last year. HF had some size too. I was impressed with this Longhorn team. They will break the playoff drought this year.

Livingston had some good teams. Had several powerful running backs and some beefy O-lines. Key for them was who was orchestrating the offense at QB. The Defenses killed them though. For a team that could burn some clock, they gave up way to many points during their time in 20-4A.

Now that LCM is in 4A, not sure they need larger stands. Outside WOS, who else is gonna fill it up?

So lets have the parents make up for the theft that has beffuddled the district for the last decade. Too Legit...Too Legit to Quit.

Lets hope Adam Morse stays healthy. Big sturdy kid, but he will run more than Walker did, much by design, so he will take a few more hits. Thats the added dimension with Adam. He runs like a full back. I think the offense will be a little bit like it was in 2011 with Miller and Bertrand in the backfield.

Hard to argue with you on that. Even as an Indian supporter. WOS is tuff no matter where you meet, but at Dan Ray Hooks Stadium them Ponies don't mess around.

I agree the game should continue to be known as Mid-County Madness with the winner getting the Bum Phillips Trophy.  I love the idea of the trophy in Coach Philips name to keep his legacy alive in these two great communities for years to come, but the game is MID COUNTY MADNESS and always will be. See MCM is not just about football. It transcends all extra curricular activities between these two schools.

Ok so i do work at PA News and dont think we could ever and certainly would never even try to rename the game. This is being done to enhance this rivqlry even more. The Bum Phillips Bowl Trophy will be presented to the winner of Mid County Madness. Thats it.
The trophy is an amazing item that ensures Bum will never be forgotten. Forty years from now players can see it and ask who he was and then learn of his accomplishments.
We are making sure this will always be done in a manner that upholds the tradition of MCM and be something Bum would be proud of. The News didnt do this without first asking both schools for permission and speaking to others close Bum. The top priority is to celebrate his life and do it in a game he always remained highly interested in.
And no i will not pick a winner yet

    Lamarque then Katy then WOS.
If were talkin just the GT and lakes area parts of SETX, WOS then Newton. If not for one of the most powerful football programs in the history of Texas football in Lamarque during the 90's and 00's, WOS could have several more title appearances.

There is also a recent tradition at PNG that the outgoing RB mentors the next in line on how to prepare both mentally and physically to play the position. It started with Wright showing Harmon how to get stronger in the offseason to prepare for the pounding a PNG RB both takes and dishes out. Then Harmon to Burtrand and now Burtrand to Halfin. It's something they take pride in passing on. If you noticed with both Chase and Brant how much stronger they got in the legs each year.
