My theme song, Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen.
When I was on the swat team up until I was about 45 years old, I would run up to 8 miles a night to stay in shape. I never got into really heavy weights but weighing about 180 pounds, I was bench pressing 250.
On one raid at a drug house, I was the ram officer who had to knock the door open. I wore about 35 pounds of body armor and weapons and carried a 72 pound ram two blocks through an alley running to be able to sneak up on the house quickly. Boom, the door came down.
After 10 years of doing that I got off the team. That was 20 years ago.
Now I am not sure that I can walk two blocks😂😂😂

This may ramble even more, so bear with me.  As humans we have mental human limitations (at least I do).  I can’t imagine a universe with no end.  In my mind, there should be a border, a drop off, a wall - something.  Can’t even begin to imagine what would be on the other side of that - something.  That mental limitation prevents us from understanding God’s love for us, until something happens to enlighten us somewhat.  I use to ask myself, how could God continue to love us when we’re constantly ignoring him and being.....well, bad.   Then I got enlightened.  Prior to going in Marines, our Grandson worked at Tractor Supply.  One day he heard a noise from a pallet full of feed stacked 4 to a layer with a hole in the middle.  At the bottom of that hole was a kitten about a month old, skinny & full of fleas.  He got her out & brought her home & him & his Dad bathed her and de-fleaed her.  He couldn’t keep her in his apartment so she ended up with me & my wife.  Took her to the Vet when a little older for shots and neutered.  We hadn’t had pets in forever.  Didn’t really want one, but inevitably we fell in love with “Maise”.  Now some of you have never had cats.  They’re to heck & gone from dogs, who (for the most part) are loving & obedient.  Cats think they run things.  Rarely display affection, and ignore commands.  Point is, we still love her - despite the ignoring & lack of affection from her, yep, we still love her.  I guess that’s the way God loves us, even when we ignore him, and ignore his Commandments.
I hope his post hasn’t offended anyone.  It could be construed as being sacrilegious I guess, but certainly not my intention.  I do find it amazing that I can learn something about (from?) God from a durn cat,  I guess there’s a little bit of God all around us if we just look for him.

It’s a strategy often deployed by teams that don’t have equal athletes. Been part of the game forever. I personally am not a fan of stalling the basketball but it’s up to the defensive team to adjust. High school basketball doesn’t need a shot clock

That reminds me of another joke...
A 60-year-old, 70-year-old and 80-year-old men were sitting around arguing one day on what age was worst to reach when getting old.
The 60 year old said, I get up at 6 every morning and go to the bathroom but I stand there for several minutes but and it just trickles and almost nothing comes out.
The 70 year old said, that’s nothing. I get up at 7am and have to go poop but I sit there for 20 minutes and nothing happens.
The 80-year-old man said, y’all have it easy. To which the 60-year-old said, you can’t go urinate in the morning either? The 80-year-old man said, sure, at 6am it comes like a flood.
The 70-year-old then said, oh so you can’t go poop either? The 80-year-old said, sure, at 7am it is like the gates open and you can’t stop it.
So the 60 and 70-year-old men asked, then what’s the problem?
The 80-year-old man replied, “you don’t wake up until 8”.

That reminds me of a joke…
A couple in their 70s were watching TV late one night and the old lady told her husband, why don’t you go to the kitchen and get me some ice cream, I want chocolate. The old man got up to go but she said you’d better write it down because you have such a bad memory. He got mad at her and said old woman, you are the one with the bad memory and off he went.
About 3 minutes later he yelled back at her from the kitchen, “how did you want those eggs?”.
She yelled back, “I told you, over easy!!”.

My postings may be erratic.  I sometimes try to think of something profound, but can’t.  Then a couple come along, like today.  Was reading an old post I kept on S. Print of a Bible quote from 2nd Timothy Ch 4 vs 3 & 4.  I’m using the St Joseph, but it’s virtually the same in King James.
I became Catholic about 50 years ago.  Once had a Catholic Priest preach, “The main thing is to be a good Christian.  If there’s something in Catholicism that’s a barrier to you being a good Christian, you might consider becoming a Baptist or Methodist (some old parishioners dropped their teeth, lol).  Personally, I thought it the most Christian thing I’d ever heard anyone say.  At that time, “new” non-denominational Churches were almost unheard of.  Now they’re everywhere.  I’m sure some may be fine, but I wonder about others, which brings me back to this Bible quote:
3- The time is sure to come when people will not accept sound teaching, but their ears will be itching for anything new and they will collect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own taste.
4- And then they will shut their ears to the truth and will turn to myths.
Point is, if for whatever reason your Church is blocking you from being a good Christian, be careful you don’t pick a Church that leads you astray.

May you have a blessed Sunday morning.  I’m in my rolling office, patrolling but worshipping via my FM radio.

“There’s no reason to stay in the grave - The Stone’s been rolled away,
He took to the cross, submitted to death,
He loved each of us with His last fleeting breath,
Then He shattered the locks that were holding the chains,
Took back the keys to every prison you’ve made,
We can live in this freedom today - The Stones been rolled away!!!”

Politics, sports, careers, pain and suffering will all fade away but there is eternal life awaiting if you’ll just believe.  May God bless each of you this week.

Had a meme for a while.  Has an US Flag on top & a Texas Flag underneath.  And in the middle a black square with the words:
I WISH AMERICANS LOVED AMERICA LIKE TEXANS LOVE TEXAS
There’s more than humor there.  I wish it was true.  Listening to a radio talk show & they had an owner of a Flag store on.  She said there were more Texas Flags sold than the other 49 States combined.  Think about that.  Yes, I wish Americans loved America as much as Texans love Texas.

Yeah that was a big get for them.  McCain was no earth shattering news.  He’s been there since the spring after a brief stop at Clarendon.  It was widely known he was going to be playing for the Seahawks next season.  And obviously that is huge for Lamar PA as well.

Had one of my old friends pass away.  I got out of the Army on 11/7/67 & went to work on 2/12/68 at Houston Chemical in Beaumont.  He was the guy that trained me on my job (I was replacing him, he was going to a Day job).  He was a black guy, that was also a veteran, and very smart.  He not only taught me the job, through the years, he taught me much of life.  He was 82.  I always called him on Juneteenth.  Once, after he was retired & I was then working at X/M, I forgot.  He couldn’t get hold of me & called others, afraid something was wrong.  We had a good laugh over it.  RIP my friend.

One of the earliest investigators had a possibility that seems more rational, these travelers are arriving through a portal from another dimension.  I can’t seriously believe that anyone on earth has the ability to get any type Craft to drop from 40-50 thousand feet to a hundred feet in a few seconds, as reported by the Nimitz pilots.  Not to mention Underwater phenomenon that can travel at several hundred knots.  Imo, all these tic-tac & bright orbs are just drones, but not man made.  Do I think they’re dangerous - No, merely studying us like we have people that study primitive tribes.  There are literally more suns in the Universe than grains of sand on all our beaches.  Stop & try to imagine that.  Mind boggling, as is the thought that earth is the only one to have intelligent life out of all the suns.
