yeah, he's a really solid player. I'm looking forward to seeing him grow and fill out in the next couple of years.
I don't know for sure on this but my son claims he pitched a perfect game in our first game of PONY ball; we won 9-0. I was not there so I did not witness it myself but the score sure does reflect that it could very well happened.

Not Englebert... he is a master of Psychology and Political Science; best not to match wits with him.

Game will be over by halftime... it is homecoming though, so at least lots of youngsters have that to look forward to.
I hate to say it but this game will be over after WOS scores their first points; I honestly don't think HF will score any points.

EC by as much as Coach Sutherland wants to hang on them, doubt Anahuac even scores in this one.
-
Yep the Dylan Silcox lead Buccaneers are as good as advertised, say what you want but that boy is a stud on both sides of the ball. I am not taking anything away from EC as a team as that is one salty bunch; they looked like men playing against boys. EC totally dominated the Horns in every facet of the game. EC should make a deep run if they stay healthy & eligible, I think they finally take Cameron Yoe this year. There were a few bright spots for HF but as a whole it was pretty much a lack luster performance by the Horns; they just got their rears handed to them plain and simple. They play that EC team 10 mores times, they lose 10 more times. Good Luck to both squads next week.

The HF Players & Coaches will have to play and Coach their best game to beat this EC Squad. If they come out and play careless and sloppy early; I see EC blowing them out. The Coaches need to have a good scheme for stopping Silcox this week, he absolutely destroyed them last year. HF has had way too many costly penalties & turn overs these last couple of games that really cost them the game against Lumberton; and they should have smoked Anahuac 56 - 0. If HF can keep it close going into the 4th quarter then I give them the nod as they should have more depth than EC; if not the "fat lady" might start singing early.

Gilmer is just tired from having had to come up through the toughest district in the state and then had to fight their way through the best region in the state while WOS just cakewalked through their season.
I would not call Lamarque, Lagrange, Sinton or Newton a cake walk; all of them have State Championship caliber programs.

HF 7th Grade A Team wins 24 to 8 over OF, this group of boys for HF are pretty solid and could have a bright future. This was a good first win for these young Shorthorns, good luck to both squads next week. The Coaches and Refs called a good game as well.

Wow what a game, our kids could have tucked their tails and got the crapped kicked out of them after gettting down 20-0 in first; but they hung in there and gave themselves a chance to tie at the end. On the last play that led to the INT, if King had stepped into his throw and hit the receiver on the run I beleive we score a touchdown at the end. You know what they say about if & nuts, though. HF as usual got started off slow and the play calling and dropped passes killed us once again. Buna is a very good team with speed and size to go with it. I think they will give EC a run for their money. By the way Buna can pass the ball effectively. Good luck to both squads this week.

HF's last shutout was against Liberty in 2006. HF won 12-0.
I knew if anybody could come up with that stat it would be you, thanks Englebert.

Wow, this turned out to be as advertized "a real barn burner"; what a way to kick off SETX Hichschool FB. For those HF fans that left early, let this serve notice that HF has the capability of making a come back when the chips are down. That fumble at the end, talk about a gift from God. I think both teams were even in the turn over stats. I am not sure what's in the water up there in Lumberton but talk about a massive offensive line, they have some real "slobber knockers" up front. Great effort from both squads and coaches, game ball definitly goes to Kendrick King, he is very entertaining too watch. I wish I had a recording of the Lumberton Coach after his kicker, kicked the ball towards Kendrick, he yelled "do not kick it too #2, I don't care what you do, just don't kick it too #2" . That was great, and will be one of my most memorable thoughts of this season. I wish all of the injured players God speed on their recoveries and good luck to both Teams next week.

Gulf Coast advances as they beat HFLL 2-1, in a rain delayed close game last night. HFLL was eliminated, 2 and done was not expected out of this team. #7 for GC is a great ball player, not to take anything away from the other kids on the GC roster; this young man all but single handedly beat HF.
HF stayed in it and fought hard but could not overcome his great pitching and several calls that did not go our way. From what I understand GC did not bat some subs and it was not appealed in time; however it could cost them in next game.

The Sealy Tigers & Carthage Bulldogs would definitely have to be included in this discussion. Correct me if I am wrong, they both won 4 consecutive Class 3A State Championships. Sealy in the 90's & Carthage in recent years.

7.Darion Gray 5-10 165 Hargrave HS, (Huffman, TX)
"Gray is the consummate scat back, this jitter bug has great speed, and cut-back ability. Gray is considered one of the premiere backs in Texas, but because he is small, not considered an all-around running back. He can definitely be a major asset on the next level on third downs. He was the first starting freshman running back in Huffman's school history. He could also move up in our rankings with an outstanding season. He looks like a faster version of Richard Murphy at the same stage of their respective careers".

I am getting conflicting info on the scrimmage for HF/Cleveland/Tarkington; one site says it will be held @ HF on the 8-24-17; the other has it @ Cleveland, which one is correct?
