  1. No, it's not... when the Rainbow Push Coalition calls on everybody to boycott Texaco until they get more people of color into upper management, you have a boycott. When an unorganized group of people say, "screw those guys, I'm just going to go work in the yard instead" and ask for nothing in return, it's just a massive migration away from that type of entertainment.
  2. She should have went to the drive through, had them send her a check, or put on a stupid mask. Sometimes you lose the battle AND the war.
  3. All jokes aside, it's not a boycott. A boycott is a publicized effort to withhold business to make the company change its behaviors. Nobody is asking the NFL (or any other league) to do anything. They've just decided to stop watching/attending... I don't think a subtle move to stop broadcasting the anthem is going to fix anything. Nobody cares if the NBA makes changes....nobody is asking them to. People are just finished with them. Sports were a way to escape the negativity that exists in our world... up until the decision was made to politicize sports. With that and the changes in our viewing habits/attention spans, I think those numbers won't be coming back. You see the same thing with awards shows like the Oscars. When it became less about the performances and more about actors preaching their views during acceptance speeches and awards given based on skin color, people just tuned out. Good luck getting them back.
  4. Actually, I think Trump chose nasty talk over policies that would have benefitted the country.
  5. Trump got beat. Biden flies in Air Force One. You DO realize that your hero Trump will be in and out of court because of his actions until the day he dies, right?
  6. Yeah... and acting like a Jackss is what kept him from getting re-elected. He got taken to Pound Town by a senile old man and a communist hooker, lol.
  7. Don't worry, Snowflake... just pretend like the WAPO is a Trump mean tweet and it won't bother you anymore.
  8. How dare they misquote the phone call in which Trump pressured the GA SOS to "find him 11780 votes" and threatened that they could be found criminally responsible if they failed to do so.
  9. Don't ever forget who helped put him in that chair. It's a shame that Trump couldn't act right with so much on the line.
  10. Governmental mask mandates are wrong. Private businesses requiring a mask on their premises is fine. I don't have any sympathy for this broad.
  11. Boy, it sure looks like the Biden Administration has gotten caught with their pants down on immigration. Who would have expected a surge of young illegal immigrants just because they were promised amnesty, a free college education, healthcare, housing, a smart phone, food, and the right to vote? What are we gonna do with all of these kids? Dang sure can't put them in cages.
  12. When we celebrate acts like "WAP" as uplifting for black women while denouncing Dr. Seuss and Dumbo the elephant as racist.... it tells you how ignorant people are today.
  13. On a positive note, I would have gotten a stimulus payment today if I didn’t make so much money.
  14. I know a woman that's in the state pen here in Texas that got the first one.... She didn't apply or anything. It just arrived. She's been inside for 6+ years already. That doesn't make any sense.
  15. He didn't look too hot last night. Just a little less composed and pasty/frail. Some of his claims were exaggerated or misleading, but it wasn't confrontational at all. I kinda liked that.
  16. "You can sell six cars, but that doesn't make you a car salesman. On the other hand, if you put ONE of those in your mouth, you're a " Not my opinion, but what the old timers used to say.
  17. But wait... last month you were praising Trump for Operation Warp Speed and how fast he got us the vaccine, weren't we?
  18. I disagree... I think that as more of us have been vaccinated and more of us have changed our behaviors for the time being, you won't see a big run-up in cases. Most of our immune systems seem to be stronger during the spring/summer as well. I'm still not going clubbing for obvious reasons, and I'll be cautious where I can. You SHOULD be wearing a mask at buffet, for crying out loud. Probably should have been all along. If I were an employer, I'd still want my employees to wear masks at work. Nobody wants to have their whole crew quarantined if it can be avoided. Not much you can say about customers not wearing them.... if you pitch a big enough fit on behalf of the business, you'll be out of business because so many of your customers won't come back. I hope you're wrong in regards to higher numbers going forward.
  19. Actually, we gave them a tax refund (money given to them that wasn't even paid in by them) in 2017 and 2018. [Hidden Content] 2018%2C Amazon posted income, the federal government for 2017. It's not about whether they're paying in "some" money in state or local taxes.... it's the fact that they make millions in profits and pay nothing in corporate income taxes... in fact, we're actually paying them via tax credits AND subsidizing their business by delivering their packages via USPS at a loss to the American Taxpayer. Spin it all you want, but that's not right. And we all know that those Amazon distribution centers don't pay local taxes due to abatement agreements. Trust me... the old Italian neighborhoods liked having the mafia around... but it wasn't good for the rest of us. What's the point of having a 21% corporate tax rate if my plumber that incorporated has to pay it but Amazon doesn't?
  20. I hear you... I mean, the system is what the system is. But you have to realize it's a little bit flawed at its core. The fifteen cents you paid in taxes on that Sprite doesn't compare to the amount paid on other items by other people. FOR INSTANCE, you have a ton of voters in PA who pay little to no ad valorem property taxes because they live in subsidized housing deciding which projects "we" want, when the refineries and high income voters will be the ones paying for those projects. Does that sound fair? That's why the mantra of the left has been that OTHER people need to pay "their fair share" when our share doesn't really exist.... I guess the question is "If I have no means of income, receive a gift from the Treasury in the form of EIC each spring instead of paying income taxes, and my housing literally is exempt from proerty taxation because it's a government-owned housing project, should buying a sprite with my EBT card and paying sales tax with other people's money give me a voice in how other people's tax dollars should be spent?" Like I said... the system is what it is, but you have to admit that it's flawed. I feel the same way about huge corporations like Amazon that have a $0 tax liability, but are currently in talks to buy the Washington Football Team in spite of the fact that the US taxpayers (through the USPS) lose money on every Amazon package that is delivered by the US Mule. The whole system is just stupid.
  21. Here's a thought though... they long since outlawed "poll taxes" because they were keeping people from voting. I guess I still wonder how smart it is to have people who pay no taxes participate in the decision-making process with people who do, in fact, pay taxes. It's like being in the car with your wife and three kids out looking for food, but you keep getting out-voted by the kids in the back seat. Literally.
  22. That's kinda where we are now in some states (like Texas) but other states will allow their residents to register and vote on the same day. This federal legislation is seeking to force all states to allow day-of-election registrations. All kidding aside, there ARE people who want to make if harder for people to vote because they think that they can predict which candidates will benefit from those "low information" votes. That's just as wrong as voter fraud, IMO. FWIW, they do a really crappy job of reviewing tax returns... two separate years we dealt with a non-custodial parent running down and claiming kids that lived with us... they got paid and we got our refund hung up for months until we provided all of the proof that the IRS was wanting. I guess the system did work eventually, but it sucked in the meantime.
  23. In short, I don't know if there was widespread fraud. I know that there's no proof of it, and that's what we have to live with. I strongly believe that election integrity shouldn't be a political hatchet used to further either parties' chances of success or we're all in big trouble... and I'm not talking about a lost election, I'm talking about a new form of government because voting didn't work.
  24. It needs to be secure. Everybody that has the right to vote should be allowed to vote. Once. Believe it or not, some people would prefer that low-information voters be excluded from voting. People that think that way exist and would like to see any barrier to keep the "great unwashed" from participating. On the other hand, there are people who are licking their chops at the thought of less oversight making ballot harvesting and voter fraud easier. Those people exist, too. You should be required to provide an ID if you want to vote. That's just commons sense. Anybody who argues otherwise is not being honest about whether they believe our elections should be secure. You should also be an American Citizen if you want to vote in our elections, IMO. It's nutty how we wanted to impeach the former president over "foreign interference" in our elections, but then fight for the rights of non-citizens to vote in our elections. It's just puzzling. The bigger problem is this... if peoples' right to vote is wasted because they weren't allowed to vote OR their vote was canceled by a fraudulent one, then our democracy will fail. That's just a fact. That's why it was so dangerous for Trump to allege fraud with no proof.
