  1. I was way off on this one... Stupid Philip Klein. I was glad to see that the issue is at rest for now. There's talk of putting the issue on the ballot for the next election (which I think is a joke), but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
  2. I'm telling you.... While you might be all "America First" and not really care how he behaved, the rest of the country doesn't feel that way. There's a lot of these guys on here that would still vote for Trump after he raped their daughters. And call you a snowflake if you wouldn't do the same.
  3. I offer you the 12th Amendment to the Constitution in its entirety. The Electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;-The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;-The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. And if the House of Representatives shall not choose a President whenever the right of choice shall devolve upon them, before the fourth day of March next following, then the Vice-President shall act as President, as in the case of the death or other constitutional disability of the President-The person having the greatest number of votes as Vice-President, shall be the Vice-President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed, and if no person have a majority, then from the two highest numbers on the list, the Senate shall choose the Vice-President; a quorum for the purpose shall consist of two-thirds of the whole number of Senators, and a majority of the whole number shall be necessary to a choice. But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States. No provision for a return to the legislature. Here's the Electoral Count Act of 1887 that clarified further the counting of Electoral Votes. [Hidden Content] At no point does it say anything along the lines of what you're suggesting. It was pure garbage from the word "go," and a lot of Trump's most loyal followers "Hang Mike Pence" just lapped it all up like the idiots that they are. You claim " Tell me where it says in the constitution he can’t kick it back to the state Legislatures." It doesn't say he can, Genius. You say "It is not common for states to send 2 different sets of electors to congress." Exactly!!!! Because one set is legitimate and the other is not! And your argument is that "well, since there is something wrong here, by all means.... send it back for a do-over" as if fraudulently sending a second set of electors to be counted is reason enough to toss out the result of an election. The only proven attempted fraud in 2020 was when Trump tried to get Georgia to overturn the election returns on 1/2.
  4. But that's your problem. There was never any proof offered up anywhere to support the allegations of "widespread fraud." Nowhere. Not a single place. Here's Donald's plan. "We'll allege fraud by way of affidavits, then point at the affidavits themselves as evidence of fraud." That's not how it works. And no court was EVER going to agree with Trump's plan to "throw out all mail-in ballots." Ever. Anywhere. THERE WAS NO PROOF. With no proof, no objections would ever be sustained at any level. State Court, Federal Court, at the Legislative Branch, Supreme Court.... NOWHERE. It doesn't matter what Rudy and Sidney Powell kept promising (but never delivered). "I heard Justice Roberts yelling that he didn't want riots!!!!" Did you tape it? Heck no. NO PROOF. What's so hard to understand about that?
  5. Wrong... [Hidden Content] If more than one return or paper purporting to be a return from a State shall have been received by the President of the Senate, those votes, and those only, shall be counted which shall have been regularly given by the electors who are shown by the determination mentioned in section 5 of this title to have been appointed, if the determination in said section provided for shall have been made, or by such successors or substitutes, in case of a vacancy in the board of electors so ascertained, as have been appointed to fill such vacancy in the mode provided by the laws of the State; but in case there shall arise the question which of two or more of such State authorities determining what electors have been appointed, as mentioned in section 5 of this title, is the lawful tribunal of such State, the votes regularly given of those electors, and those only, of such State shall be counted whose title as electors the two Houses, acting separately, shall concurrently decide is supported by the decision of such State so authorized by its law; and in such case of more than one return or paper purporting to be a return from a State, if there shall have been no such determination of the question in the State aforesaid, then those votes, and those only, shall be counted which the two Houses shall concurrently decide were cast by lawful electors appointed in accordance with the laws of the State, unless the two Houses, acting separately, shall concurrently decide such votes not to be the lawful votes of the legally appointed electors of such State. In short, it gets stopped cold at the first part, because the real electors WERE regularly appointed according to section 5. But IF Pence felt compelled to say both sets of electors were regularly appointed (which they weren't) then it would go to both chambers , and there would have to be a disagreement between the chambers as to which set were to be recognized... and honestly, they were gonna side with the regularly appointed set, not the kangaroo set that were chosen on the sidewalk by Repub hack jobs in total defiance of the popular vote of their own state. Your argument is literally that if Democrat members of the Texas House send a flight of electors to represent Texas INSTEAD of the ones chosen by the Texas voters, then by all means, use those instead. Pence is more of a man than you can even comprehend, unlike your Lord and Savior DJT. Your got got his wig parted, and you need to get over it.
  6. Boy, if those Lyin, Cheatin, Stealin Democrats had known this, VP Al Gore couldnhave thrown out Florida in 2000 so that Al Gore would have been our 43rd President. Just like the framers intended.
  7. So well put... can you point me to a place in the election code where it says that the vp can pick and choose whichever electors he wishes to count? Because it doesn’t exist.
  8. I disagree with the constitutionality aspect. I don’t believe that the founding fathers intended for the current vp to be the only person who solely decides who the next president will be. That’s a perversion of the process.
  9. To clarify, my kid is a weld inspector and they’ve been on a project down there. The customer had crews on site day and nite. The shakeup is that they are going to go to straight call outs with no crews on site. Instead of working 12s (night) 13 on, 1 off, he’d just be on call during the time he’d normally be on shift. But the $145/day perdiem is history. That and the loss of guaranteed shifts has him (and a lot of other guys) pulling out. The customer just decided to cut costs in all directions. He’ll be fine, though. He can work for the same outfit or a competitor down here and it’ll be okay. He’s just trying to stack cash together because he’s registered to start at LIT in the fall. Not process operations, btw. There will still be really good jobs at the plants, just not as many as we’re used to.
  10. He’ll be fine... but thank you.
  11. All kidding aside, my kid just texted me... He's been working down in Port Lavaca (weld inspector) and the customer just cut them way back. Perdiem ends on 2/1/21. He's headed home. Welcome to Biden's America.
  12. As the Final Arbiter for this wager, I have to admit that I have no idea what y'all are betting on.
  13. I don't know who neglected your reading comprehension skills, but I've shamefully admitted that I voted for trump twice. Unfortunately, more people were unwilling to put up with any more of Trump's childish nonsense.
  14. Because he wouldn't try to unconstitutionally overturn the election?
  15. Solyndra? Yup. I don't remember reading where we had to subsidize the combustion engine industry to get it off of the ground. If it's worth a flip and will make a buck, some enterprising American will be all over it.
  16. Mike Pence? Pray tell. How was Mike Pence mean and nasty?
  17. Here is how you would have answered those two questions. Would Keystone be halted if Trump was the President? NO. Why wasn't Trump re-elected? Because if you don't like trump you're a snowflake.
  18. Of course he got 80 million votes. And i'm guessing that 70 million + of those votes were from people that didn't like Biden... they hated Trump. Why do you suppose Biden won the Democratic primary? Because people are sick of mean and nasty, and Biden was the least mean and nasty of the bunch over there. So why do you suppose Trump got beat by Biden, too? Because Trump was unnecessarily mean and nasty, and that's not what people want. It's so obvious if Trump hasn't banged your head off of your headboard one too many times.
  19. Would Keystone be halted if Trump was the President? NO. Why wasn't Trump re-elected? Because he's a jerk. See? Trump's fault.
  20. I don't have to defend it. It speaks for itself. But it never would have happened if Trump knew how to act. I'm still fairly certain that the first debate probably cost him the election.
  21. Son, that wasn't giggling, I was breathing deeply and typing with one hand.
  22. Hmmmmm.... "We're not going to raise taxes on people making less than $400,000 per year." That took what? One day?
  23. Can anybody point me to an instance where that certain group was in charge and things ended well? I'd really feel better about things if somebody could send me a success story or two. No lie. Drive around PAT.... that's gonna be Beaumont in my lifetime (and I'm in my late 40s now).
