Let me know if you do. I’d really like to send you that message.
LOL, I cleared out about 50 messages from over 7 years back that I had not even read lol. I tried to send you one and it said the same thing, you could not receive messages.😃

You need to empty your mailbox. You are only allowed so many. If it's full like I suspect it to be, you can't receive any new messages.
Thanks I had no idea.

I just tried to send you a pretty lengthy message, but it said you weren't able to receive messages.
That's interesting. I'm home today with a cold.

You’re right. It is a football thread. But dj is talking about how horrible this coach is for the kids. I’m merely saying there is much more than a bad coaching staff that’s harmful to all WOS students which includes WOS student athlete football players. Where is the upheaval about that? There isn’t any. And it’s shameful to hear everyone going on and on about running these guys out of town, but no one seems to show the same support for the education of these football boys. The battle for these kids isn’t won on the field, it’s won in the classroom. The kids aren’t the underachievers. It’s the people responsible for their education. They have given up on these kids’ educational success and preached athletics as a way out. That’s so backwards, I can’t even begin to comprehend it. It’s not like it’s a poor inner city Houston school. It’s in a well funded district with good kids and good people. I’m sorry I brought this up, but it’s been heavy on my mind. My son played flag football all the way into college. He’s an average student and has to work hard to get B’s and C’s. But I always told him, no grades, no sports. It drove him to work hard and get the grades. He got injured last year and no longer plays. I’m glad I laid his foundation in education and not in athletics.
You make valid points. The problem is some of the same people who oversee the decision-making process within the district are the problem. I know that the head coach at WOS appears to be a friend of yours, personally I don’t know him. I knew the previous coaches at the school, and many in the community knew them too. I’m not sure how the decision was made to hire any coaches within WOS, but many were not happy about it. (They have the right to be like it or not). When people are asked to approve bond money, and pay taxes, they should have a say in what their tax dollars are paying for. Many people who have made comments about WOS business really have no idea of what needs to be done to fix the situation in my beloved hometown. They just make jabs because WOS is 90% African American.
The educational issues at WOS can only be dissected by the people who live there, not by outsiders. My niece finished at WOS in May will be 2 years, she got a partial scholarship to go to UT, hook em horns! She finished #5 in her class; she is still making A’s and will be a junior this coming December. There are others doing the dang thing at other D1 universities too. Part of the solution IMO to help cure most socially disadvantaged situations, in all of Orange is to re-build the community, talk and listen to the people who live there. Maybe then they will not be so openly upset about the hiring process of coaches. (GET)business opportunities, more jobs, just invest in the people who live in Orange.

Do you expect anything for your kids on an educational level? Why doesn't anyone come together and be heard about that. Historically, WOS has never been an educational powerhouse, but I guess that's ok.
Good Christ this is getting old...
Not you too!!!. You know at all school there are under achiever yet you guys never talk about that SMH. Let's see this is a football thread and maybe that is why his answers are related to football. Talking badly about the kids at WOS educational scores is and I quote "Good Christ this is getting old..." 😉

I'm hoping that the guys on both sides of the ball leave their attitudes off the field, and just play hard nosed football. History shows that these two teams really do not like each other.

Hickman may be on a 2 year contract since he is also the AD. But, all the other coaches on that staff will be on a 1-year renewal.
So this should be year 2. Hopefully! People are going to stop attending the games.

He's a Silsbee alum. I thought he wanted to prove them wrong when they fired him as DC. Almost looks like a well orchestrated plan to infiltrate and kill the competition from within.
Kids are paying the price for this. We will have no D1 scholarships. Shaw got lucky that he was already being recruited before this fell apart last season. The sophomores that were starting against CS 2 years ago would've had a chance. If not for the administration's efforts to please the people that aren't here supporting our kids.
Voters have spoken will continue to step up for what's best for the students. Might even see WOSdrummer99 signs next election cycle. This experiment has to be stopped.
We want Bevil, Locks, Toby, DPG, and all other candidates to have a fair chance for employment at our equal opportunity school district. No more discrimination. No more demanding hiring anyone based on race. This is what we get when quality candidates are turned away and leaders of young men are hired for the wrong reason. I wouldn't be surprised if more move to LCM on Monday. Or if this ends up like the 96 season when almost all the senior leadership quit.
WOS 112%
112 was also the total points scored tonight btw
He is kin folk, I would support him for sure. How is coach Foreman doing this year? I have not been keeping up with his wins or loses lately.

#1 Do coaches get more than one year contracts, or do get one renewal per year, just like teachers do?

This was torture to see the kids fight so hard, and to give 58 points in a game , that has not happened in so long, I can't remember. It's very hard to see the program in this state. What ever defense we are running, everybody has figured it out.

I'm out of words for how this game was played.

Good Luck Newton rest of season

Newton friendly Refs. The big one can't count his steps. SMH
-
Question, Does Newton have a 9th grade and JV football teams?
-
We still have 2 other QB's that are capable, #16, and #23

Welp, maybe coach T. will put write a whole big ole chapter about him reaching out to current coaches and, if they refused his help. I can't wait until his book is out.

my classmate works for the district and we was discussing this on our trip in Destin. He said as long as the district is doing well in academics, staying the black financially, the district itself keeps getting good ratings, kids are learning...nobody is getting fired because the team isn't winning and he's a principle. he also told me and i did not know this, WOS is a rich school district
Hum that is interesting to know. Back when I went to WOS it was said that our district would give money to other schools. I'm not sure how true that is, maybe someone else may know better than me. The community is tired of not being heard, and are voting school board members out slowly. Eventually, changes are going to be made, when TEA rolls out their new ratings.

IMO coach Garrett should be calling the offensive plays.

Ladybug33 u truly don't want to know!! And then u would why I'm so upset 😡 with this coaching staff.somethings didn't have to be this way.sometimes in life we all need help sometimes.but, when a person who doesn't have experience at certain things.makes this so idiotic.if u only knew the text messages I receive.makes no sense.the ppl losing here are our kids.and they deserve better.
I do get it dj. My family is up set too, we are huge WO-S fans, My cousins grandson is a running back for us, is why I'm trying to stay positive for him and the team. But I do get it!
