From the link I posted earlier....

PNG Coach Jeff Joseph is from the Katy football program and has adopted the same 50 Defense used at Katy for his Indians. Hickman described, "They are going to play five in the box, they're going to play cover four in the back, and they rally to the football."

Yes he is from Katy, and son of the coach who won many championships at Katy.

That's actually exactly what he said. I believe he called it "multiple fronts." Wants to keep opposing offenses on their toes.

I'm not sure if PNG can stop us consistently. If we don't stop ourselves. But I think they're coaches will have a great game plan. Where did Joseph get this Defensive Coordinator from?

Someone gave the answer Katy, I was not sure but it makes sense to bring good coaches with you.

Y'all really need to miss the playoffs for a few years. Maybe then you will appreciate the hard work your kids and coaching staff put in just to make the playoffs. Making the playoffs is not a birthright. The sense of entitlement on Newton Ave is sickening.

It was disgusting how y'all treated Hampshire Fannett last year after they beat you, like it was all on your coach instead of the longhorns being the better team. Hickman got his team to the playoffs, they just lost to a better team. Happens all the time. Yet y'all want the man gone.

Here's the problem. People ain't moving to Orange. The people who do live in Orange are chosing to send their kids to LCM, Orangefield and Bridge City. People are choosing to move to Hamshire, Fannett, Sour Lake, Lumberton, and Silsbee.

Other areas in the state are growing. Smaller 5A schools are being shoved into 4A and they are 2-3 times bigger than you. The advantages WOS had in the past are gone.  You might have to get used to playing one or two playoff games a year, if you are lucky, until you drop down to 3A. That's what it took for WOS to start winning again last time.

It's best not to worry about Newton Street, trust and believe we don't care about your team once the game is over. It's always next team up!!

#11 Cole Crippen QB from last year graduated. #11 this year is PN-G's top WR hes like 6'4" with other wr #80 being like 6'4" too. Now #19 Shea Adams is back who was the wildcat qb last year, this year he is main qb. Nice backfield with Isiah #33 or #29 dont remember and Blair #15 behind the big O-Line

Yep, these guys are playmakers. #33 is really good.

The Mustangs have had success running it. Itll be interesting to see if we can rely on Turners arm when the run isn't working. I believe he'll have to sling it against PNG. I don't think we're going to see the success on the ground we have the first two and PNG gon score. We won't stop them in our new, normal.

PNG won't shoot themselves in the foot the way LCM did.

Yes you are correct. PNG have playmakers from last year's team. #11 comes to mind, but I'm sure they have others who will step up and make plays on a given. The Mustangs' will have stop getting in their own way. (limit the penalties) Our safeties should play for the ball and makes plays. their receivers will burn us it won't be enough to just rush their QB.

    Here's my advice:

there's a kid named Turner- don't let him run

if LCM has a QB that can haul the mail use him cause Sunday had a hay day for a while there

play 4 quarters, Nederland had a 20-8 lead at one point and needed 41 points to win

those WOS lineman are huge and will wear down throughout the night so conditioning is a must......that's about all I go

oh and WOS had many self inflicted penalties so pray they have those again if you wanna win

Not so much I believe your defense got worn down.

Id have to disagree. Once you get in the playoffs  they do run into athletic teams like kilgore and chapel hill. Just because the district is watered down doesnt mean the playoffs will be

How many players are returning from LCM on both sides of the ball?

I’m just saying it’s not a rivalry. Find another good team. Vidor took them off already. Just scrimmage them. Last year when our field wasn’t ready they would not even swap home and away from 1 year to another. We had to play at BC. Not signing off on kids,  All coaches gripe but why hold a kid back that does not want to play in your program. Scared to lose player to crosstown. Why should LCM be obligated to schedule them. Again play another good team.

I agree with you on scrimmaging only. However, the rivalry does exist. First kin folk are jawing talking back and forth just like we are doing on this thread. Then it is about the transfers, why I cannot figure that one out. Go to the school that fits your needs and good luck to you when you get there. Then, it is about winning, pride and bragging rights (Facts).
