Someone already bragged about how Yates is beating the syatem. Yep NCAA guidelines are not as manipulative as UIL..... ::). Funny how that's the only point of my post you addressed. Let's see......if I believe someone is cheating to win, then I can assume they muster up some integrity when it comes to everything else?  :o That's nothing personal, just common sense.

Well, it is pretty easy for those who have problems figuring it out. Why don't 5A/6A schools play 1A schools? Even some 5A schools complain about huge enrollment schools having an advantage. Yates keeps their enrollment figures down to play 4A just like some schools I know, but let's talk about how great and smart they are. Probably fudge grades too.

Why aren't you on the Ozen thread? You care what people think about your opinion or you wouldn't offer it as much as you do. As for value, it is more valuable to you. I never said Ned could beat Yates but for you to spin it that way says a lot.

Dickie, you need to post on the Ozen thread. There are zero hits. Instead of talking your team up, you come on here to dis mine, while you keep your Yates in your hip pocket. Says something about character.

A man I work with, who isn't from Nederland but has been following them all year, told me I missed one heckuva game. He told me Ned was awesome when they came on late in the game. Games like this show why you should never take anyone lightly.

Best place to lose it is at the end.

Ummmmm.......After what happened, don't you think future opponents should be warned that this may happen? It's a mentality of the players. The coaches and "adults" didn't cut them loose. If these kids can't hold back their anger any better than that, then they should not be allowed to even play organized sports. Let's keep making excuses for the truly guilty. It's part of why they act as they do. Someone always tells them it's someone else's fault.

Why would anyone want to play a team and put on notice that something like this might happen? Says a lot about the players themselves, not the coaches or "adults". The UIL is soft. No place for this type of behavior in sports period! Maybe if we keep slapping wrists, we will end up like European soccer matches.

How about neither team should be allowed to even play football against anyone for fear that an "incident" might occur? I think the probation without any type of playoff suspension or denial of a district championship is a mere slap on the wrist. Assault and battery is not a sport of any type that I know of. What happens if their probation is broken and what type of "incident" is required for a stiffer penalty to be served?

In a three-way playoff, what are the scenarios for the non-winners.......what place money do they get and how does it affect the field who were not involved in the playoff?

I guess everyone on the team was a senior, and so was everybody involved in the fight. As far as I know, punishing the group for the actions of a few (this was slightly more than a few) is the norm, not something I just invented. I really can't see anyone being able to punish only those involved. There were too many.
