I don't recall any Silsbee kids on those state championship teams being in that same situation other than maybe Calvin Tyler and everybody knows he had major Silsbee ties and was a football player that played basketball.

I think Tigee is a very good coach, but lets pump the brakes on it being all about him getting their basketball program turned around in less than a season. Those "new" guys have a lot to do with

Its all water under the bridge but stop with the he had ties narrative its tired and played out, and you know he wasnt the only one who transferred in. But I get whatever makes it sound good. These new guys yall crying about would’ve been JV players at the their schools. Guess he knows something these other coaches don't know !!!

  2. Sounds to me like grown men haters if it fits your narrative then its ok but when it doesn't you have a problem. If Tigee had a terrible season and their record was 8-25 none of you would have a thing to say . FYI relationships were established way before any of this So called recruitment stuff took place. Kids gravitate towards this man and if my son was still in school he would be playing for him. Wouldnt care if he had to sit out a year or whatever the case was . You really think he's the only coach in this area who has kids not from the community or recruiting as you say. Wheres the energy for the all the other schools I mentioned earlier like I said no comment on that huh . Go find a hobby or something instead of crying on a message board because you got beat

  3. All I hear is grown men get on this board cry about children wanting a chance to play the game they love. The game of basketball travels across a lot of boarders and if a kid wants to find an opportunity then let them. If the rule says they can play them so be it ,if they have to sit out a year so be it. But quit crying this is why this generation is softer than drug store cotton. Most of y’all act like these kids are criminal because they move in to play somewhere. Y’all don’t know what some of these kids are told at the school their leaving from you just assume . I could go on and on but If I knew what I knew now my son probably would’ve went to Nederland, silsbee, Houston yates or Klein  Forest and I bet no one would’ve said a word because it benefits them!!!!

Non residency is only for attending. UIL governs sports and they have their policies and participating in those sports are regulated by the DEC and UIL, not the school district.

I know all about UIL,DEC, PAPF forms .So your saying he didn’t do through the proper  channels and he just playing players that haven’t been cleared. And he is putting his coaching career on the line to win at HF !!! Ok gotcha .

you are correct- the world is not equal.  Minorities and females have a huge advantage as opposed to middleclass white men

For instance Port Arthur fire dept gives African Americans a 10 point curve up on the civil service exam to help them get jobs above all others.

And there we have it when some dont understand the privilege they are born with . Never mind these ppl of color or women are qualified we don’t want them with our jobs but if they do get them let’s give them hell so they’ll quit and keep it all in the family. it shouldn’t have to be policies like that in place to make them hire candidates who are applying!!! You think ?

We played them at their place and I came away thinking that HF has some good athletes now. What is the allegation, that they are using kids from BISD? As far as the in game coaching goes, it’s way over the top in my opinion but if that’s his style and it works then more power to him.

I respect what you’ve said his style is no different than Coach Abel who was &PNG or Coach English or any other coach who is deemed over the top because they want the best outta their players

My info of residency actually came from an H-F admin. All I know.

Come one AAW your a smart man ,I’m willing to bet that if this HF admin had any concerns the kid or kids in question would not be playing . To my knowledge the kid in question is playing jv but to my understanding and correct me if I’m wrong they have nonresident tuition for students who don’t reside in the district kinda like HJ does. So does that make them ineligible to play a sport  especially if they going for academic reasons? I just want to know that’s all

I know exactly how bad H-F basketball has been in recent years.

You speak of this "culture" change but at what costs? Is the changes being made done correctly?

I don't get involved with the racial aspect of these situations because they mostly are a bunch of bs. I think it's most times a weak play.

So whats being done incorrectly? Any hardcore facts or we going by whats you’ve heard . Remember AAW I know all the kids in question and where they live dont join the angry mob you’re better than that .

Getting records off of Maxpreps is your first mistake. They are sometimes very inaccurate. I mean, do you honestly believe that Hamshire-Fannett on played 12 games in a season? (2-10) You said "history". That is more than 10 years.

I don't have anything against a young black man having success. You obviously do not know me very well.

Also, there is no shouting (all caps) in these forums.

Also, not good to misrepresent yourself when spewing these "facts".

AAW come on man does is matter fact is they having a losing history and havent won in many of moons. The culture is changing certain ppl dont like it . This tells its cool have him there but he isnt invited to dinner.

I noticed that you are new (2 post)

race card thrown ---- everything he did "wrong" was called because of his skin color and sister??

sounds like a mid 70s rant.

Guess we know the first hit dog to holler!!!!!!( you probably think he shouldn’t be in a certain neighborhood eating some skittles, drinking a pop & wearing a hoodie either ) #LifeIsABunchOfDays

For all of you people that "heard" what coach Rideaux did during the OF game let me tell you what actually occurred.  The schools administrators, fans, scorers table and Athletic trainers were allowed to talk to the head coach in any way that they chose to, and the incompetent JV officials didn't control it nor did OF's head coach.  Coach Rideaux's sister was also threatened by fans saying she needed to move out of her seat.  Not only was she threatened but the two kids that she had with here were talked to like they were less than human.  Coach rideaux did not tell a kid he had one job to "make" a 3 pointer he told him that he was subbed in the "shoot" a three pointer and the Kid did not take the shot.  The racism that was shown in that gym has not been spoken about one time in this thread, but yall are dragging a guy's name through the mud who would give the shirt off of his back to these kids that yall say he mistreats.  You cowards on here disgust me.  The real issue should be how HF was called for 10 offensive fouls and orangefield was called for 1.  The real issue should be how certain coaches of certain skin color aren't responsible for controlling their fans.  As a supporter of Kids and anyone trying to help kids I think Coach Rideaux is doing an amazing job with a school who was 3-27 last year an 49-189 the past 10 seasons.  How about we start addressing the issue of racism wait we cant do that because the ones that are spewing negativity on this man are obviously guilty of it.  My advice to coach Rideaux is to continue to coach your team and help build young men.  I guess some of you have never seen success in sports so "almost" is good enough for yall.  I applaud Coach Rideaux for demanding excellence from his kids on the floor and in the classroom.   Oh by the way he has won more games this year than any coach in the history of the school and its not even christmas.  He is obviously doing something right.

Finally we get to the root of the problem !!!

  12. Ahhhhh now we getting to it ppl more upset about where kids come from and how much of an advantage it is sad days sad days .How do you know what HF has ever had if they’ve never been pushed to be better and win. I’m sure there are kids who would love to play at a higher level if they’ve had a coach who actually worked with them to get better and not just accept the norm. Stop promoting mediocrity a winning mentality is needed everyday in life not just sports.

I don’t think they are talking about what the record is it’s more about what happen with the  officials, fans, and etc. It’s not all about just winning.

Not one person has said what he did that was sooooo bad. All I’ve heard is he subbed a kid out and told him he had one job to do. And all the ppl who like participation trophies came out with the pitchforks !!!!
