I was actually defending Hefner. He is playing point guard for Ned which isn’t what he will play in college. I’m one of his biggest fans and he has a lot of haters in here. He is extremely unselfish and a great player. I am anxious to see how he does in college when he isn’t the focal point that other teams try to game plan their D against.
Jake I was agreeing with you lol.

Memorial always does a great job defending Hefner with several players and lots of trapping and double teams. It probably led to open threes for Gipson and some really good looks for other players. I know yalls agenda here, but I promise he had plenty to do with the win. With that being said, y’all are constantly on Hefner’s ass... how do y’all give Clover a free pass?
Hey Jake94 only someone who lacks sound basketball judgment would say something stupid about Hefner and how he plays. The causal fan will only look for stats as an effect on the game but the game is played is many different facets. Hefner is essentially the pg for Nederland he’s extremely unselfish and his iq is really good, he understands unlike others. What he does for Nederland doesn’t show up in the box score but if you watch the game then you’d know. The comparison to Colton was unfair because Colton was a monster but of course Hefner has a different mindset compared to CW. Hefner will be a better college player because of his upside, jmo. Now as for Clover I don’t know a lot of coaches who teach post play anymore because the game is for guards, stop thinking because Clover is big he’s suppose to dominate his effect on the game at this point is defensively .The way these officials officiate is terrible big kids get hacked constantly so when he gets the ball yes he’s timid the refs not gonna call it and if he plays physical their gonna penalize him . Bigs today are becoming extinct which is why you see them camped out around the 3pt line .Yes he should get some easy layups, dunks and knock down the ft line jumper but his stats should read 12p,8r,4b,3a if he can do that Memorial should be fine. Some folks need to stop looking for stats and watch the game thoroughly but then again everybody don’t know what too look for either !!!!

He is certainly up there.
Darryl "Boogaloo" McArthur was a pretty special player too. McDonald's AA and he played in the era of no three point line. Averaged 29 points his senior season and it was his career points total record whom Bush broke. Had there been a 3 line, Boog would have definitely scored more.
McArthur was unstoppable at times, just like Bush has been.
May be true but we have to go by what is current ,Bray has shattered the record and I highly doubt anyone else will break it anytime soon. And he's only 5’7 which by far is super impressive!!!!!

You guys do know it isnt that serious I mean its just basketball. They lost a couple of games I mean I love the way Silsbee players and community feels about losing ,hell they truly care unlike others. . But on to the next game fix the mistakes and win the next one thats it. What they’ve accomplished the last 4-5 years wont be duplicated for a minute this comes in cycles every 7-10 yrs or so. Hell of run cant ever complain about that. And BRAY BUSH is the best to lace em up in the uniform PERIOD!!!!!

People should not include Silsbee in this recruiting trend going on. Silsbee has been dominating SETX in basketball for a long time with SILSBEE kids. Bigger schools that Silsbee should NEVER be able to play with. It is what we do from Silsbee and people really really hate that. On all levels!!! Name me 3 BASKETBALL players that have moved to Silsbee in HIGH SCHOOL to help them win in the last 10 years.
Stop it we know who, but it’s irrelevant

Like i said if UIL. and the DC cleared them then what are y’all crying for . Go play some golf get your mind off it. Too much time and energy being devoted to kids transferring!!!!!

And your right the UIL cleared the kids so I guess that’s that. I have no problem with the kids by the way. I am happy for them. I know it’s hard to get playing time on a team at one of those bigger schools. The coaches have a tough job choosing from all the talent they have available at those schools and sometimes they miss out on a “diamond in the rough”. I’m happy The the kids get to pursue their hoop dreams. I just think the coach is getting to much credit for being a great coach when he’s really a good recruiter. And I don’t think public schools are the place for recruiting athletes
So private schools can recruit but not public ..loll... ahhh ok ...For the last time these kids would’ve been on soph or jv at either Bmt school. For them to play on a varsity team not knowing how this would turn out is a testament to the coach . Stop trying to undermine what he’s done , he’s developed those kids I know every last one of the kids in question his teaching has taken their game to a whole other level. It’s a ton of coaches who dont develop these kids just roll the ball out and say play. HF was dormant ,a black hole couldn’t keep a coach now they have one and ppl crying about transfers because they had HF as an easy win which is no more lace em up and get ready to play because they are coming whether some like it or not!!!!

Hey what did UIL or the DC say about the kids who transferred in ?

Just now, Setx fan said:
I wasn’t aware that ever happened at Silsbee or HJ. I do have an idea about EC. They had 2 or 3 transfers last year and I believe they were all related and their family had ties to EC. That doesn’t stick out as recruitment to me. Just seems like EC benefited from legitimate transfers. Those things happen sometimes especially at schools that have a winning traditions
Like what you did there, its ok .smh. Moving the goalposts I see, its cool keep telling yourselves that its fine if they have “family ties” lol...

Every school has transfers once in a while and of course a lot of schools benefit from transfers. But there’s a difference between benefitting from transfers and actively recruiting transfers. I could be wrong but I’m not aware of any other schools in the area who have had 4 transfers in the same year. If you know any then enlighten me.

It’s unfair to hometown kids who don’t get to rep their community because the coach has recruited a roster full of selects
Yea the same community who didnt show up when they were getting it handed to them. 3-4 guys come in and here comes the whining ,ask the other kids outside of the transfers do they want to go back to the ways of old. It’d be a resounding NO!

Hope you sensed the sarcasm.
Parents are the ones who ultimately make the decision, not the kids. 😎
All about relationships , not about what you know but who you know.

I don't recall any Silsbee kids on those state championship teams being in that same situation other than maybe Calvin Tyler and everybody knows he had major Silsbee ties and was a football player that played basketball.
I think Tigee is a very good coach, but lets pump the brakes on it being all about him getting their basketball program turned around in less than a season. Those "new" guys have a lot to do with
Its all water under the bridge but stop with the he had ties narrative its tired and played out, and you know he wasnt the only one who transferred in. But I get whatever makes it sound good. These new guys yall crying about would’ve been JV players at the their schools. Guess he knows something these other coaches don't know !!!

Blame the parents/guardians.
Why because they want an opportunity?

Sounds to me like grown men haters if it fits your narrative then its ok but when it doesn't you have a problem. If Tigee had a terrible season and their record was 8-25 none of you would have a thing to say . FYI relationships were established way before any of this So called recruitment stuff took place. Kids gravitate towards this man and if my son was still in school he would be playing for him. Wouldnt care if he had to sit out a year or whatever the case was . You really think he's the only coach in this area who has kids not from the community or recruiting as you say. Wheres the energy for the all the other schools I mentioned earlier like I said no comment on that huh . Go find a hobby or something instead of crying on a message board because you got beat

All I hear is grown men get on this board cry about children wanting a chance to play the game they love. The game of basketball travels across a lot of boarders and if a kid wants to find an opportunity then let them. If the rule says they can play them so be it ,if they have to sit out a year so be it. But quit crying this is why this generation is softer than drug store cotton. Most of y’all act like these kids are criminal because they move in to play somewhere. Y’all don’t know what some of these kids are told at the school their leaving from you just assume . I could go on and on but If I knew what I knew now my son probably would’ve went to Nederland, silsbee, Houston yates or Klein Forest and I bet no one would’ve said a word because it benefits them!!!!

Maybe it's about when and how and why they transfer in that makes some cry.
AAW you know i respect you a lot but stop with the transfer crusade because if it means that much then give back those state championships !!!!

Nederland missed a lot of layups i think that decided the game. Is Hefner injured or coming off of an injury. He should’ve taken the game over best player in the gym I really wanted him to score every trip down ,but he’s so unselfish it’s frustrating lol. Of course in a good way!!!

I don't understand why it's "changing the culture" when he's just bringing in kids from another community. That's more like changing the personnel.
That could be said about 3 or 4 schools in SETX !!!!
