Never opposed to having a good player but within the rules/guidelines and the INTENT of the rules/guidelines.  Speaking of rules and guidelines, ( I have already asked you this before but you elected not to answer) do you think that if this message board has a rule of one identity per person, that it is ok for a guy to  have several identities, particularly to promote himself?

Not sure what i would be promoting but I only use this one name been using it forever, AAW can attest to that. So if your thinking im someone else your dead wrong . Sorry!!!

Believe it or not, there are some people who want just that.   And then there are plenty who, for strictly personal reasons, do not.

I hear you stevenash but you didnt answer the question, Would you be opposed to those 6’8 kids or would you say oh no they cant play because it isn't right and I care too much about the other team we’re going to face ?

They would not have been close to the playoffs.  Good thing they got the next Doc Rivers to coach them up.

Wow you're really mad huh, must be parent whose kid got cut ,or those move ins beat your team. Your too concerned for the average fan, I get it you want to uphold the integrity of the game right ,lol, yea ok. Serious question if those 6’8 kids were available to the school you cheer for would you object to them playing ?

Just because they got away with it does not mean it wasn't an athletic move.  Earlier you talk about HJ needing to stop whining, get it in the gym, and get better.  Advocating the addition of players via transfer doesn't support that statement.  Which is it?  Work hard and get better or change your personnel through "players recruiting players?"

I clearly see you have terrible understanding, smh

I hear what you are saying but the fact still stands. It is against UIL policy to transfer for athletic reasons. If kids are recruiting kids, and they move because they want to play with their friends, then that is the basis of transferring for athletic purposes. That is what is being discussed. At least from my end.

I understand that AAW but if the UIL finds that they didn’t move for athletic purposes then why is everybody mad at Yates . UIL can say yes or no , the gripe is with UIL quit saying they are cheating if they get cleared. Like I said name me one coach who turns those kids away if their movng into their district?

  6. Some of you just have bad understanding, coaches do not recruit players , players recruit players , parents recruit players . Summer ball is a direct reflection of why kids leave the school there at and decide to play with their FRIENDS for their last year or two. It was taboo at first but now it’s common. You guys are mad because 2 or 3—6’8 kids decide to attend one school, well guess what if those same kids decided to go the school you cheer for I guarantee the coach nor the fans would object to those kids attending their school. So stop with the crying about how unfair it is. Some these kids in SETX change schools religiously for the same reasons I mentioned earlier. But guess what they aren’t high caliber players like that and so you guys think it’s ok because he’s just 6’2 so its no advantage but it is because it’s helping the program win games. I got a 7footer right looking for a school lets see how many coaches turn him down because they got such high morals lol...

There is a certain amount of ignorance apparent in this thread.  Many have no idea how the UIL guidelines are enforced.  This word.. “transfer”... keeps getting thrown around.

Transfer refers to a student that DOES NOT LIVE in a school’s attendance zone.  In that case, they are not eligible for UIL competition for one calendar year from the day they enroll.  If these 6’8 kids MOVED into Yates’ attendance zone then they are legally eligible.  It is against the law to deny an education to any student that lives in your attendance zone.

THEY DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to every high school kid in the city or Houston.

Great point !!!Finally someone with some understanding ,can’t beat a dead horse and there are a lot of ppl on this forum that have no idea what their talking about

  8. Hey HF you have no reason to hang your heads what you’ve accomplished this season was unprecedented. There are a lot of grown ppl hurt by the fact some kids are achieving their dreams and defying  the odds. No matter what gets said about your coach I’m sure you know the truth and how he has helped you grow everyday not just in basketball but in life . Keep pushing and grinding because it only gets harder but I know you kids will up for the task. To the the true COACH OF THE YEAR  TIGEE RIDEAUX , I know your a competitor inside and out just keep leading your program in the right direction and block out all the negativity. There will always be roadblocks the only way is thru them, around them or over them .

    1.  You haven't the slightest idea whether or not I have a dog in the hunt

2..You don't care nor have the energy to deal with  the topic but you are terribly concerned about wasted space on an internet site.  The logic gets better and better.

Hey man I understand But me clarify what I meant I dont have the energy to get on a site cry for 25 pages about a team I clearly had no chance of beating even if they didn’t have those recruits .

    Let’s see,:

Over the past 30 years, HJ has won 3 state titles, I believe. 8-10 Regional Tourneys, Numerous playoff games, as well as lots of district titles

    This year:

    1) HJ ties for 1st in their district

    2) Teams 1-4 in the same district win round 1 of the playoffs

    3) Then lose by 50 points in the 2nd round  to Yates

    Question:

    1) How can one deny Yates’s recruiting?
    2) Who wants to watch a 50 point blow out in the playoffs?
    3) For the Yates kids moving on and playing at the next level, does anyone think this prepares them for that?

Those remaining silent are doing a disservice to these young men.

I expect that type of response when you have none ... just ramble on about some accolades then try throw another team under the bus in the process!!!!

For those who are "whining" about the whiners, I would add this:    The conversation about what goes on at Yates has NOT come up just because a local team lost a game to them.   It's been oft mentioned  on this board for at least the last 7 or 8 years (aka- dozens and dozens of references to "communications programs" that take place year round, not just during basketball season.

And here we are 7-8 yrs later and y’all still crying !!!! LET IT GO!!!!
