KP's talent isn't drying up. Next year will probably be their best team since '11. He got a promotion and most likely a good raise. He went from being a head coach at a 5A ISD school with 5 high schools plus a 6th coming, to being the AC of an entire district that will include 2 6A high schools before he retires. He'll probably be in charge of hiring NC's coaches now. Definitely a step up and good for him, hopefully he's replaced with a coach that keeps them competitive. I see them promoting from within or hiring someone from Katy or Cy-Fair's district.

Now it's the other way around. Case and point being Donta Allen, Tre Edwards, Alec Morris and 2
CE King players recently, all high level players. Thankfully Jimmy Dickey doesn't coach here anymore.

I'm a PNG Fan, wait now Brenham, wait Hutto, wait now Cedar Park. You can say it, you just don't like Crosby. It's ok.

This post is completely idiotic. I guess the growth in Crosby is because everyone is moving to Huffman ? I have lived in Crosby for 42 years, have a job, and never once considered moving to Huffman. I know many people in Huffman but can't think of more than one that have moved there from Crosby. Talk about depressing, you have to leave town to go to the grocery store and some citizens there have to pay City of Houston taxes. What the hell would I want to move to Huffman for ? I guess maybe if I couldn't hack it on the Crosby team I might

Crosby vs John Tyler probably would have been a good matchup. Both lost in the semis last year, both have multiple FBS recruits and both have very good coaches. Could even be a title game preview for next year?

Austin actually ran for over 2700 in only 12 games, we lost in the second round to Elgin. Had he not been pulled like Tray Williams doesn't get pulled he would have easily surpassed the 3k yard mark, but he probably only played in the second half of 6 games that year. Beck had over 2200 and 124 catches I believe with a 22 catch/320 yard performance in bi-district that year.

With all the talent coming back I guess you've stated one of the popular opinions. Coming off the heels of the Rivals article about Crosby and a state title, Padilla also calls his shot:

You hit it in the screws. This ISN'T 20 years ago. Lots of the top schools in Houston haven't even been open 10 years, much less 20, which is what people east of the Trinity are missing, especially in the bigger classes.

10 years ago there was no Foster, George Ranch or Ridge Point to play in the second round, ALL of which were ranked in the AP top 10 at some point last year. ALL boast multiple high level FBS recruits just like Dawson and Manvel who are less than a decade old. Humble ISD has added Summer Creek, Kingwood Park, AND Atascosita within the last decade also, same for Katy and Cy-Fair ISD.

DFW football vs everyone else can be summed up like this; Joey McGuire who is Cedar Hill's head coach has turned down multiple college job offers. The most recent of which was reported at $375k to coach at Texas. He chose to keep his job at Cedar Hill making well under half of that in the hood. Same for Claude Mathis at DeSoto before he took a job on Morris' staff at SMU. Crosby probably pays their AD something very similar to those guys but we'll be lucky to keep him 5 more years, even if we win a title or two. That's the current state of football in SETX on the bigger levels.

Times have changed the last "20" years....decade would be more accurated...Plano hasn't been the same, nor Mesquite North Crowley?....and in that same time period half of the top teams in GHA didnt even exsist 20 years ago. What's foolish is thinging that having a 1-2 HS district isn't an advantage.

Did you just make a post and reference World War II? That's exactly why your district is 2-10 against ours the last few years in the playoffs and 3-17 over all against us. I wasn't talking about tradition, I was talking about the programs under Stewart and Neumann. By the way, all that tradition has gotten you against Crosby is one win against 2 playoff losses, one blowout and another 5 point regular season loss. Y'all care about all your tradition, it means nothing to the kids that will come in and steamroll y'all this August.

Your post sums up the majority of thinking in SETX IMO; more loyal to your past than you are to your future. Meanwhile, west of the river. . .

Call it a "high 5"! Sophomore cornerback Taylor Perry just picked up his first FBS offer from the university of Indiana. Already one of the top corners in the state for his class, Perry could blow if his measurables become a little move favorable, both Texas and A&M love him. There's a lot of ways to sum Perry up, but basically, he's just a certified dog. This makes the 5th player with an FBS offer on Crosby's roster. That's now three away from the 8 I predicted by the end of next season.

Stay tuned, I got a text this a.m with possibly more good news for Crosby fans.

Congratulations to Crosby freshman rb,Craig Williams, who's only the 5th freshman to receive an FBS offer in the state of Texas so far this year. He was offered by his rbs coach alma mater, SMU, over the weekend.

    http://247sports.com/Player/Craig-Williams-53431

2016 DB, Joseph Pickney, was offered over the weekend also by Texas State. Super physical downhill safety.

    http://247sports.com/Player/Joseph-Pickney-37331

Taylor Perry and Manny Netherly, ranked 32 and 34 respectively per the 2017 Texas composite, could also be picking up offers during the Spring evaluation period. Expect those two as well as Carlos Grace and possibly two others to be holding FBS offers after next season.

Looks like there's no shortage of talent the next several years. Scariest part is that the incoming freshman class could be the deepest of all.

Congrats to the previously mentioned kids and what they've accomplished to date.

DFW parents and school districts pay for results. Teaching pay is higher plus Stipend pay is higher. Parents pay to put their kids in passing academies and personal coaches. So parents are investing more in their kids, and schools are  investing more in their programs, in turn you get more trained athletes on the whole, and the highest paid head coaches in the state, and by far the highest paid assistant coaches in the state. There are countless schools with indoors and multiple turf fields on one campus, weight rooms that can accommodate 400-500 kids at the same time. Not to mention the greatest football complex in the world is in DFW, they have home field because its the Football capital of the world PERIOD.

I agree with you, it doesn't matter where you play the title games. Allen has won a title in Houston, Trinity, Cedar Hill and Carroll have won in San Antonio, and Katy has won multiple titles in Dallas. The DFW/East Texas region dominates wherever they play. The program's down here just need to improve to keep pace or catch up. My best friend is born and raised in Plano, he told me the state title game to DFW residents is called the 4th round.

I've told people for years on here that the football in the DFW/East Texas region is on another level than what we play down here. They've won 11 of the 12 state title games the last two years in the three largest classes, even played each other in a couple of title games. While we may be on par athletically that's about all we're on par with them in. They lead in everything from facilities to compensation, and subsequently state titles. If it wasn't for Katy and Lake Travis it would be utter domination for the rest of the state when compared to the DFW. There are exceptions like Newton and WOS but that's in the smaller classes where one or two players can take you extremely far. We have a long way to go before we can compete those guys on a consistent basis.

I just read that Baldwin was actually transferring to Cy Falls instead of Cy Fair. I feel for the kid now, Cypress has a 10 team 6A district with about an average enrollment of 3k kids per school. Other than Cy Lakes, Cy Falls might be the worst team of them all. Good luck to the young man though, playing in that district he's sure to get plenty of in-game exposure, just won't be on winning side much.

The rest of the conference doesn't have many explosive players either though. I certainly think he'll leave for a bigger job once he wins too, just don't be surprised if he passes in a couple that have been deemed a step up prior to him getting there. With how weak the conference is all he has to do is get a qb every few years and keep 3 or 4 top prospects a year at home. He already started by getting Tyrik Grey to stay home last year and this year he's in good position to get the #1 DT in the state, Ed Oliver. He darn near got Toby Weathersby last year too. If he can get a kid like Jalen Hurts or DSC to stay this year his program will be off and running.

IMO if he wins it might be a little harder than some think to get him away from Houston. UH is probably the 3rd largest school in the state at around 40,000, is in the hottest recruiting bed in the state, has a brand new stadium w/ NRG to play in if needed, and is a public school so if 3 million is needed to keep Herman around he can probably get it. I think UH could be a national power again if the people in power wanted it to be.
