1. Seems odd that with all of the extra headaches going on with the administration and budget for this job that they would require a masters degree. Going to narrow down their options when it's already got other baggage going on. Figure they'd take the best candidate they can hope for masters or not.
2. I wouldn't mind seeing Coach Mann come back. Where is he at these days? He's the only guy I can think of that fits that description.
3. So any names floating around? Sounds like they already got someone in mind since they haven't posted the job yet
4. Also the coach at Lee never made 80k when he started or any other time. Trust me.
5. No way man. Not even close, Lufkin was 5-6 in 5A last year if i'm not mistaken. It just sounds scary to say Lufkin they've fallen off, Montgomery is losing like 17 starters, and the rest are not very good. Woodlands is the only team West Brook should lose to. Sterling is gonna have to battle to beat Kingwood they will have to battle to beat Summer Creek and there is 0 chance against North Shore and Atascocita. You cant make a case for West Brook struggling with 4 different teams in that district.
6. That pay is a range based on experience. And if they hire a guy they really like they will even offer more than the scale listed. So unless they hire a coach who has only been in education for 5 years, which isnt the case, they are paying well over 90k. GCCISD pays really well man. Wasnt the guy they just reassigned making 100k+. They pay WAAAAAY better than BISD, otherwise why would a coach leave when he has more talent and just beat Sterling, and Beaumont is in a far easier district than Sterling, assuming it's Flanigan and not Toby since no one apparently knows who applied.
7. Did the SUN put out a list or just # of applicants
8. No way Jose, GCCISD is one of the highest paying jobs in the area and has been since the 80's. The teachers pay is way way higher according to the websites' salary schedules and the lowest paid head coach in the district is making 98k. So is there a list that will tell us which Beaumont coach it is, Haynes or Flanigan.
9. Hope they continue the success and i hope Goodman does well, But....... why chase off the head coach with the multiple state titles for no apparent reason and then hire from within to keep things the same. ZERO LOGIC, has to be parents or board member or someone that is both of those things getting their feelings hurt. ZERO LOGIC
10. It is definitely going to be a tough challenge that's for sure. I bet it's a challenge most coaches wouldn't even want to take on. wish him the best but when he won there before they were 3A, even though his track record is great I gotta say that it will be hard.
11. Oh my bad so there's not a difference, and I wasnt defending Haynes, i just liked the post where the guy was defending a coach.
12. HaHa, huge difference in the two. 1 of them actually has a red light and the other only has stop signs. Get it straight you guys.
13. Well put JG, i cant stand people who bash coaches without any idea of what they truly stand for or what they are all about. You people arent in the athletics class and you arent at the practices so how can you possibly know what a coach is all about. Nice to see former players stick up for their coaches
14.

Hardin actually made the play offs in Coach Haynes first two years finshing 9-3 in his first season.  His offense led by Myles Taylor put up 520 yards passing in a game against EC.  Unfortunately, due to lack of defense, Hardin lost the game 53-46.  They averaged 39 points a game that year but gave up an average of 41 points a game.  If they have some defense to go along with the offense that he will bring, Lumberton should be ok.
Big difference in 2A and 4A
It looks to me like he is saying his offense wont work at the 4A level, but then you read in a later post that he had 5 district championships and 4 undefeated seasons at the 5A level. It looks like thats exactly what hes saying.
