  1. Also.. 20+ years ago they didn't have every starter and most of the bench making all district.
  2. You're not wrong... but it is what it is.
  3. The district champ will likely get the MVP. And there usually aren't many players that make All State anymore that aren't on teams with playoff runs. Maybe he makes it and congrats if so.. but politics usually wins.
  4. No question. And I watched and re-watched several times. Even looked at individual pictures of screenshots the exact moment the ball passed the goal post. It was close and easily argued in real time. However, both officials who were directly beneath threw their hands up immediately. There was only a brief discussion after several MV players and coaches made a big deal out of it.
  5. You didn't watch the video I saw. Was definitely not higher than the goal post and the ball squeezed inside of the left upright. By inches.. but it was definitely good.
  6. Allen has nothing to do with this. Just your personal thoughts on football.. Trust me, you aren’t in my head. I just have a good memory. Again.. this thread is a shoutout to a former SeTx coach for beating an undeniably good coach. For all of those who believe it’s all about coaching.
  7. Weren’t you the one who argued that Allen should win every year based on attendance? If so, your comments are irrelevant here. This post was more about the accomplishment of a former SETX coach than anything.
  8. I think you’re right.. I thought that after posting.
  9. You’re referring to me? If so, what gives you that idea?
  10. Random info: Former SETX coach Josh Finney took down Art Briles and #5 Mt Vernon last night 30-28. Time expiring field goal from what I understand.
  11. Not every school. It depends on their policy.
  12. As long as that school accepts out of district transfers (most do), then a kid can go to a school of their choosing. If it’s truly for a better academic situation, which is a legitimate reason, then the child should have no problem sitting a calendar year for UIL eligibility. If they’re going to be on a better team.. then they need to wait a year.
  13. A lot of schools offer open enrollment for out of district transfers. Many always have.
  14. You mean other than with their parent/guardian? Or in the case of a child possibly without one? I mean that if an athlete chooses to go to a school outside of the district in which they reside, have a caregiver that is ok with it, and have a means of getting to/from said school, the UIL is NOT going to force that child to stay at the school that they live within the district boundaries.
  15. Kids can play wherever they want to play. Also, they aren't forced to reside anywhere. Just no that if a kid doesn't reside in the district after moving, then they'll have to wait a calendar year to play where they want. It's been debated several times on here, but that rule is the only viable option to ensure that UIL sports doesn't turn into one big recruit fest. At least.. not openly.
  16. Loaded? Now see.. it’s statements like that one that get you ridiculed. Relax. I didn’t say HD would lose. Just implied that it might make things interesting. One time over at Burkeville when they got a few transfers they won it all. I applaud your devotion, but no team in the district is loaded. If you think that then you don’t know what loaded means.
  17. I have a coaching friend that told me Burkeville just got three out of district transfers eligible to play through UIL. From Newton or Jasper or something.. Apparently UIL is being extra lenient because of COVID. Might shake things up.
  18. There are too many situations where people relocate due to jobs, educational opportunities, divorce, etc.. you can’t punish kids with legitimate transfer reasons due to a few.
  19. Carthage gonna Carthage.
  20. I don’t think there’s a question as to who the best team in the district is.
  21. And again.. it doesn't happen overnight. For a school to think they can bring in a coach and expect results before the junior high kids even make it to graduation is just about the dumbest thing that can be thought in the sports world. Has Hardin ever even had a football coach see 7th graders make to graduation?
  22. Gene pools can be slowly overcome with time, culture change, and consistency, but it doesn’t happen overnight. We’re already having a conversation of a coach “playing kids out of position”.. or whatever other excuse can be made for being habitual losers. Well done, Hardin. You’ll never change.
  23. I’m not defending anyone or anything. I wasn’t there. Just stating that sometimes penalties/fouls will seem lopsided for no other reason than it actually was. Comparing the number of flags thrown per team won’t convince me.
  24. Sometimes a team commits a lot more penalties.. because they just commit a lot more penalties. It’s not the job of the officiating crew to make sure there’s an equal amount of flags thrown for each team.
