  1. I knew I wasn't crazy.. I was told that number surfaced somewhere.
  2. I could have sworn that I was told that Padilla is predicting the 3AD1/2 cutoff at 375. Not sure where that information was given or read.. but I'm almost positive I was told that a few days ago. I know getting old is hell... but memory hasn't been an issue yet. At least.. I don't remember it being an issue.
  3. 10-4. I just figured he would have predicted others since his 3A projection came out.
  4. Without question.. I fully expect them to. LRA beat a really good Whitney team not long ago, and Whitney has an absolute stud taking snaps. My predictions have been wrong plenty of times.
  5. I believe Hardin should win the first one. The next one will be Hitchcock.. which is also winnable, but not guaranteed. I think HC is down but the potential to cause problems is there. Down or not, they have a win over Silsbee this year, a 2 point game with HF, and a 3 point game with BV. That's potentially troublesome. After that.. the road just get worse. Fairfield, Franklin/Columbus... Region 3's tough.. which we all knew. I still hope they keep shocking the world, though.
  6. What are the Carl Padilla projected cutoff enrollment numbers for each classification?
  7. I’m not looking for anything. Community/parent support trickles down into player mentality. Perhaps what was needed from the start was to just be supportive.. and realize that changes that happen overnight take a little time. I'm just calling out the ridiculousness of what is often seen in the coaching world. Win - Hero.. Lose - Idiot.. Never taking into account the vast number of things that influence the outcome of a season. CT made it to the state championship in 2017. Then didn’t get back (or close) in 18.. 19.. 20.. 21.. what happened? Was he a worse coach at the end of his career? Or were there other factors? Bottom line.. the WOS community as a whole was absolutely ridiculous towards this coach at first .. and obviously still (“He overall hasn’t been good enough…is that what you’re looking for?”).. so I’m going to bring this up with every success. And I might be old, but my memory is still strong.
  8. That’s always the case.. the people that make decisions are always the reason someone stays/goes. But those people are rarely here. My original post was for the community members on here that were calling for his head in the beginning. Do they still want that? They’re back to their DC ways..
  9. So I just dreamt all of those posts and comments from the first year he was there? Got it.
  10. Are we still gonna fire the WOS HC? Somebody catch me up..
  11. That's where the experts are.
  12. This thread is depressing this time. Why haven't there been more enrollments posted? What's everyone waiting on? And I'm also very intrigued by the number of people claiming that the cutoff numbers may go down from last time. Has that ever happened before?
  13. They’ve clinched #1. Even if they were to lose to KV, they have the tiebreaker over OF. I like your optimism.. but Hardin gets the trophy this year by themselves. Best of luck to everyone in the playoffs.
  14. At zero point was this remotely close. And CS only scored because of a questionable pass interference call in the end zone. Hardin dominated from start to finish. Both sides of the field.
  15. Not sure if you know how vast the slot-t playbook is.. but it's not. Franklin has won state championships running the same handful of offensive plays all year. So that argument won't fly if the team is good enough at what it does. Don't think that I'm saying Hardin is on that level.. because I'm not. I think Hardin has holes in defense compared to state title caliber teams especially. They let Tarkington score.. and gave up a handful to Buna. State champ Columbus/Franklin would never. But Hardin does what they do well enough to keep offenses off the field so far. I'm not naive.. it'll eventually run out. Because clock control offenses aren't designed to play catch up.. or deal with turnovers. So we'll see. I'm happy for the school, though. A good year's been a long time coming.
  16. I've seen them a few times on NFHS. Yes, they only have done a few things on offense... but it hasn't been stopped. I wouldn't change anything either. If you can't stop one or two things.. I'd do those same one or two things until the game ended. I'm sure CT has been in the business long enough now to have another option if option A isn't working. Just because it's not shown often, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. But what does exist is a big physical line with a pretty good variety of size and speed in the backfield.
  17. I'm sure that the coaching staffs along with several community members would be ok with traveling a little further to play similarly sized schools rather than playing against schools with potentially double their enrollment and potentially being non competitive in literally most UIL competitions. Just saying.
  18. You're ok with schools playing another school with double their enrollment in district competition? Think about the top enrollment number of 5A D1 (2274) compared to the bottom number of 5A D2 (1315). Bottom of 4A D2 (545) vs. top of 4A D1 (1314). Bottom of 3A D2 (254) vs. top of 3A D1 (544). etc.. Whether it two schools with 6A numbers or 2 schools with 1A numbers.. in the average athletic/academic competition, the school with twice as many students to choose from will have somewhat of an advantage. Surely you're not saying that's not true.
  19. I've always thought this.
  20. If it's strictly about budget and travel purposes, then just make the districts whatever 5-8 schools are closest to each other. Regardless of enrollment. See? That's ridiculous. Having schools in your UIL competition district that are closest to your enrollment size, even if you have to travel a little further, is not ridiculous. It's equitable. There are always exceptions, but if it's true that schools are potentially better/worse depending on their pool of students to draw from... then there needs to be split divisions. For every UIL extracurricular event. You can't pick and choose when it's fair.. or for what sport it's fair for. Or even when to ignore the fairness in the name of saving money. Playing against the same size schools is either fair or it isn't. If that's fair, then it needs to be that way for every sport.
  21. I don't think OF will have an issue with EC or Buna. But I also think that Hardin won't have an issue with CS or KV. So..
  22. Even if Hardin were to get a loss, they still have the tiebreaker on Orangefield (head to head). So it doesn't matter. Your only shot would be if Hardin loses out. Which is unlikely. As far as this game, I say Harding by 40ish. Pretty much a repeat of last week.
  23. HJ won't opt up again I bet.
