  1. The score wasn't a reflection of whether the game was close or not. EC scored on a 70+ yard flea flicker about 50 seconds into the game. Then Hardin rattled off 35 unanswered.. eating up most of the remainder of the game. It was a demoralizing display onto the EC d-line. There was zero answer. Hardin even got a couple big yard penalties.. that were completely erased by the next snap or 2. I'm a believer. I had doubts because it's hard to gauge based on a bad preseason schedule.. but the last couple weeks have shown me that the hornet offense is a problem. Congrats CT and Hardin. This has to be a record breaking ride thus far, no?
  2. Hardin is absolutely wearing them out..
  3. My opinion: OF > EC. Hardin beat OF. Hardin beats EC.. as long as they don't have any penalties/turnovers. After watching the game Friday, I don't believe anyone stops that offense except for Hardin (in district). So as long as they hold on to the ball, it shouldn't be an issue. That makes it to where they only need to stop EC once or twice.
  4. "According to the Hardin ISD athletics page, Hardin High School has won 2 football district championships: in 1946 and 1974." - ChatGPT
  5. If that holds true through the count, it looks like they won't be jumping in classification.
  6. Out of curiosity, do you happen to know what OF's current numbers look like? I mean.. I know we'll all know in a few weeks or so. But... still curious. It's going to be interesting this time. If what I'm hearing is correct. Which isn't always the case.
  7. I'm curious to know how many times Hardin has actually played both of them the same year.. Can't be that many.
  8. I speak sarcasm fluently. I know that SP games are done.. just exploring new ways to say that I'll be watching several games on NFHS from my couch.
  9. I'm going to Sabine Pass at Colmesneil.
  10. What a copout. Pick a side, DCTF. lol
  11. Those look pretty even to me.. give or take a few schools. Some considerations: Geographic location has to be taken into account in some circumstances. It wouldn't make much sense to "Go ahead and pull up the numbers to include schools A and B so that we have X number of schools in this division or that many few in another".. especially if there would literally be no schools geographically close to this hypothetical School A or School B. Also.. there are schools that choose to play up a division every alignment. If you really want a set number or max number of schools per division, then don't allow schools to play up. Make them play where they are.
  12. As much as I'd like to see Hardin pull it off.. I think their cupcake preseason schedule pays dividends this week. I'll take OF 27-20. Prove me wrong, guys.
  13. I watched Hardin on NFHS last night. That double wing, tight splits offense that CT like to run will be tough for any of them to stop. They have some kids.. both in the backfield and on the line. However.. there were some weaknesses in their defense. Not sure they can stop EC or OF from moving the ball and scoring. Might come down to time of possession and turnovers/penalties. Big district game next Friday.
  14. My opinion: Falling just a few short or being just a few over whatever respective cutoff is just a bad/good coincidence. While I wholeheartedly disagree with many of the decisions made by UIL, I doubt that they have time nor is there any concern with making sure this school or that school is put in a "favorable" position. I'd like to think that there really is an attempt made to keep the number of schools in each classification relatively similar.. based partly on schools having reasonably, geographically located district competition. Yes, I know we can all list examples where that doesn't seem to be the case. But keep in mind.. every year there are schools that opt up for whatever reason.. throwing everything off. But.. as far as "let's make sure the 3AD1 cutoff number is X or lower so that (insert school) can still win their district".. that's silly. On the other hand.. there are documented cases of schools manipulating their own enrollment numbers in an attempt to have fewer kids.
  15. Oof.. Carthage JV may not have been the one to play.
  16. EC/OF/Hardin... 1st place will come out of one of these 3. Or maybe a co situation. Or maybe a tri situation. But these 3 determine it this year. Will come down to execution, turnovers (or lack thereof), maybe injuries, eligible, home/away, etc.. who knows why one will play better/worse.
  17. 4-0. I'm still undecided as to where I think it'll be another shutout... but it'll definitely be a win. Should be.
  18. I've heard that Alto isn't very good this year. HD should've played 6 man.
  19. This game is completely dependent on whether or not the WV coaching staff plays kids out of position or not. Incorrect position - Coin flip Correct position - Unbeatable
  20. Both of their enrollments have outgrown HD's "easy to beat" limit. SP was the last maybe.. lol
  21. Who's HD supposed to beat now?
  22. 3-0. Another shutout.
