  1. Of course not.. I'm just suggesting that there may be more to this. And no, I don't believe that a 15 year old kid can do 368 pushups and an athletic workout in an hour. I remember that HF story.. didn't that turn out to be overexaggerated?
  2. My 2 cents: My biggest and really only complaint to this list is the same one I have sinse the "watered down pansies" took over. There should only be 5 on 1st team and 5 on 2nd team. That's literally what it means. If a "1st Team" was selected by the coaches to go play another district, there'd be 5. This is basketball. 1st teamers are "starters" and 2nd teamers are "backups". If it was really done like intended (like college and NBA) then the superlatives would come off of said teams. But whatever. Strange, but I have no problem with the Kountze kid getting MVP. The coaches voted for it... and the kid can definitely play. It's odd that the district champ didn't have one of the top 3 supers (mvp, off-mvp, def-mvp). But they did get COY. I'm just glad there aren't any Co anything.. I can't stand that. Also, Newcomer is always weird. You guys are putting too much into that.. it's literally a person that wasn't varsity last year. I doubt there were very many options.
  3. I read it. I just mean it doesn't quite add up.. 368 pushups over the course of 60 minute athletic period along with doing an athletic workout. You know there was a few minutes to get dressed.. and another few to get dressed to leave (or whatever). I just mean the math isn't mathing. I'm sure there was muscle failure from fatigue at some point which means that the pushups were either hideous in form or not done. I read that marines typically have to do 200 perfect pushups in a DAY. You're telling me these high school kid had to do over 350 in an hour? Plus an athletic workout that was long enough for 23 mistakes to have been made? Just not adding up to me.
  4. Is the article saying that an excessive number of push ups is possibly the cause of what they were diagnosed with? That doesn't seem like a big thing to me. 16 pushups for a made mistake... I don't know. Maybe I'm missing something.
  5. "Well we worked 80 hours making time and a half,But La Grange was too damn hot." - Charlie Robison
  6. It doesn't take that for a large number of the coaching community to know what jobs are open or gonna be open. The coaches that people might wish to take the job don't care that it's open.
  7. PiNeapple Grape PNG is right there ^ in bold. #OnTopic
  8. An elite poster will definitely read the forum rules in a 7 year window. An elite school will hire the right coach within 7 years. Just like an elite scholar will get a point across in 7 years or less. Same rules??
  9. Look at me.... I am the captain now.
  10. There’s nothing you could ever say, nor is there any handpicked selection of statistics you could ever show me that will convince me that a coach can win a state championship solely on his coaching capabilities without any talent whatsoever. Nothing. There are also plenty of examples where your definition of an elite coach had windows of mediocre seasons after winning said titles. All of which is either ignored by you or answered with some kind of “exception to the rule” type nonsense. I don’t care what you think. Surratt isn’t winning a state championship at Sabine Pass as long as they keep their academic requirements in place. That.. and that alone.. is the reason a coach won’t go in and draw neglected athletes from Port Arthur. Which is their avenue to athletic excellence. They’d rather win UIL and OAP state titles. Know what? Cool. Good for them. As far as HD. Look at what happened to the community populations and school enrollment. The town is drying up. Since their title, they probably need transfers for any success whatsoever.
  11. It’s downright confusing how dumb your line of thinking is on the subject. I’ll give you this.. you’re committed to it.
  12. Fine.. even though you’re the one that claims any coach can go anywhere and win regardless of the talent. We’ll stick to classifications. True or false: The Carthage coach could spend 7 years in Sabine Pass and beat Mart. Taking into consideration that SP doesn’t change their academic requirements for transfer. True or False
  13. If you can’t admit that there are obvious cases of a team with enough talent for deep runs… and a team without enough talent for a deep run, then you’re very deserving of all the posts that are obviously making fun of you. True or false: The Carthage coach could beat Katy within 7 years spent at Sabine Pass. Give a one word response. True…. Or…. False
  14. But.... that's exactly what is being claimed. By a specific person I mean.
  15. Sounds like you're a kid blamer. In 7 years time or less, an elite coach would beat the KC Chiefs with Sabine Pass. I said what I said.
  16. It wouldn't matter. Because (insert exception here)...
  17. I heard that he's a legit distance runner. Like.. D1 cross country scholarship.
  18. I'm sure plenty of teams are upset that they had track/baseball practice yesterday.
  19. "Go get the coach from...." As stated countless times: Most "not so great schools" don't pay enough money to attract a quality, well known, big name coach. And if you want a coach that's NOT ON THE APPLICANT LIST, you need even more money than that. The amount you didn't have to start with I mean.
  20. Surely you jest. I have it on good authority that there are coaches capable of winning a state championship in any school within 7 years.... regardless of their players' athletic ability. They call this seemingly mythical group of men "Elite". I know it may sound silly.. but it's true. You sound like one of those kid blamers. (Disclaimer: This only exists in the sport of football)
  21. I couldn't agree with you more. I can't stand when there are co-anythings.
  22. I watched the second half of the game on NFHS. Their half court defense was definitely bad. Also, Kountze missed several what I consider as unnecessary deep 3 point attempts.. and their free throw shooting cost them a few possessions worth of points. Buna broke the press easily. It turned into vastly more offensive points than it did turnovers in Kountze's favor. I know that's what they do but it definitely wasn't working. Not sure Kountze's answer for when they can't score from their press. Seems like it's "give the ball to the PG and let him create". Not sound in my opinion.. but, meh. I don't really care. Best of luck fighting it out for the last spot.
  23. Wouldn't it be fun if Orangefield lost tonight.. and Kountze lost... Wouldn't that force two seeding games? By the way.. EC's ace should get MVP. Disclaimer: I HATE when they do "co-superlative"
