The way I see it, the kid is playing at one of the top, if not the top football school in the country. If you start for Bama and keep your nose clean, you probably make it to the NFL. There you can make more money in a year than I can in two lifetimes. I have a difficult time feeling sorry for people who find ways to screw that up.

I played division 1 basketball. The fact that his teammates voted to send him home is a big thing. I think people need to stop making excuses for him. He needs to grow up.

the cop did use excessive force when he threw her across the room. The method he used to get her out of the desk was per protocol. She had to have been very disruptive if the officier was involved. I teach Health Science, Principles of Health science, medical law and ethics and medical terminology. (Yes, i am still a RN) at a high school. Most of the kids are great, but there are some trouble makers. First we have to call a parent to let them know their kid is acting up (at that time, the kid is still acting a fool). 2nd offense-an assistant principal is called to escort a kid out of class, if that doesnt work then an officier is called. Officiers take down the desk with the kid in it to get them out. Every day this is occuring in some class. Maybe he officier ws agitated, but that doesnt excuse his behavior. A student charged me in class and starting yeling in my face. Officers had to remove her. 99% of the kids'reactions occur when a teacher asks them to put their cell phons away and threatens to take it. It feels like a warzone sometimes.

The student earned her arrest, but it looks to me that the force the cop used exceeded what was necessary for the situation.  I'll be curious to see what TVC says

The occasional gay customer is going to cost him business?  Gay customers go to EVERY business.  That being said, I'm not arguing whether he has a right to do so.  I'm asking other Christians that, as a minister, is he demonstrating Christianity by singling out an individual sin to ban from his store while continuing to cater to sinners of all other kinds.  Whether or not you believe in gay marriage, I can't find anything in the bible that preaches picking one sin and denying that sinner the opportunities that you'd afford to different types of sinners.

Since he's a baptist preacher who doesn't want gays in his store because "what they're doing is wrong", shouldn't he also be banning   divorcees, fornicators, liars, blasphemers, idolators, and all other manner of sinners from his store?

Nash, Its been a discussion for years.. I think we all can admit the "opportunity" to bring this issue back to the national forefront is now. Before we all get back comfortable again and be in denial about our race issues.

Personally, you can hang your confederate flag in your yard, boat, horse carriage, or in  Billy Bob Saloon.

Although Texas doesn't have accomplices per se, they simply charge the crime to anyone involved. She wouldn't be held as an accomplice to escape, just Escape as if she had broken out of jail. Additionally she could be charged with Organized Crime/Escape (similar to the bikers in Waco) since at least 3 people took part and any additional crime they committed. Organized Crime/ Escape alone is up to 99 years or equal in penalty to Murder.

    Welcome to Texas.

She should also be charged as an accomplice to any crime they commit.

Here is the real story for you idiots that believe everything you read from a conservative blog:

Like all health care providers, Mercy is managing the impact of market changes, including reimbursement reductions from government and commercial payers, lack of Medicaid expansion in most of the states we serve and declining inpatient utilization. We have been expecting and preparing for these changes for several years and have made tremendous progress in redesigning the health delivery system to meet evolving needs. As part of our transformation, we have consolidated many non-patient care support services to streamline how we work and achieve greater efficiencies. We are in the process of further reorganizing our support services across all Mercy communities and anticipate reductions in that workforce ranging from 200 to 300 positions later this month. Departments affected are in support functions; direct patient care areas are not affected. Mercy is committed to maintaining the highest levels of quality, safety and service as we undertake these changes. We recognize the impact of these workforce reductions on our co-workers and our transition plan will reflect our commitment to dignity and compassion. Mercy's total workforce is approximately 40,000 across seven states.
