  1. Regarding my claim about Smalley’s effectiveness as an AD, here are the most recent “Coaches of the Year” recipients in SETX. Orangefield has more than double any other school, all Smalley hires.
  2. They have a shot. Hitchcock is definitely the most talented team in the region but Kountze is good enough to have a “puncher’s chance” imo.
  3. Dallas filing any sort of grievance with the UIL is hilarious. They are the dirtiest district (and region with the metroplex in general) of any area of the state and it isn’t even close. They made an example out of Duncanville in basketball but honestly that’s the tip of the iceberg. I would bet a large amount of money that SOC has multiple starters that are questionable enrollees at best.
  4. Definitely agree. Honestly 2-5 could be wide open. I think Kountze is the clear favorite and I like Orangefield next but overlook any of the top 5 teams at your own peril.
  5. They hired Clay’s assistant from HJ right? Seems like whoever it was will be a good one. Looks like the Panthers are going to be right in the mix.
  6. That kid on that “good call” commercial a few years back. I thought that was the most unrealistic thing I’d seen until I actually saw Devon McCain tell an official during a Silsbee game that the ball was off of him instead of the opponent as the ref called (of course Silsbee was up by about 30 at the time). Do you think the official changed the call? Of course not. To be fair, I’m sure that was the first and only time the ref had ever had a kid do that and had no clue how to handle it.
  7. Couldn’t have been two worse results for resale. Washington didn’t even sell their allotment to the semifinal.
  8. Gotcha. I saw a different explanation but calls are a part of the game anyway. And definitely agree he should have just kicked the PAT after the penalty. I love the way he coaches (much more than our guy) but I didn’t get that at all.
  9. In other news, glad Georgia “cared” this year, unlike when the Longhorns handed them their behinds in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. Probably because there was so much more on the line this time…
  10. Ok, I’m a lifelong Cowboy fan but the end of that game was a travesty. Dan Campbell might be my favorite coach in the league now (even if he is a durn aggy) and he and his team got robbed (although why he went for 2 again was pretty baffling). The average NFL referee salary is north of $200k. There has to be some accountability for them blowing calls like this. Especially in that moment.
  11. [Hidden Content] Refreshing. Also probably helps when you are the third future NFL QB in your family, and virtually guaranteed to get first round money. And I guess making your own millions while being the most popular kid on campus is probably pretty cool too lol
  12. Yeah but his baggage is legal now basically. They’ve just legalized what a TON of programs were doing but the Tigers got busted for. Rumor has it a former employer would like him back. I would think in 90 percent of places that just wouldn’t be feasible but LSU has always had a healthy (or unhealthy depending on perspective) amount of not giving a rip.
  13. No doubt. Probably the best roster in the conference and easily the best coach. Could run the table.
  14. Apparently it is in homage to Sammy Baugh (seriously). I can dig it. Personally I prefer the #21 of John Hadl.
  15. Bingo. I can’t remember exactly but Arch has either a $3M or $5M bonus if he starts a playoff game. I expect bowl game payments to be common place very soon.
  16. Not the point little buddy. Poor aggy can turn even a 5 star into a dumpster fire 😂🤣
  17. The funniest part is pretending like the dudes they were missing weren’t a dumpster fire as well 😂
  18. I think Michigan is the better team. Without the Saban swing, they should be 3.5 to 6.5 pt favorites. Doesn’t mean they will win. I also think Washington should be favored against Texas on a neutral field. Not sure how neutral the Superdome will be though.
  19. To be fair, their others starters suck so bad it’s hard to distinguish between them and the “scout team.”
  20. That’s what I’m saying. Prime territory for one of the most historically mid programs in CFB. Just give it some thought before you poo poo it.,,,
  21. Ags need to build on that 11th rated recruiting class in the SEC with a win tonight. It was still good enough for 21st overall according to ESPN, while Tech signed the #1 recruiting class in the new Big 12 and was right behind A&M at 22. Maybe aggy should run back to Big 12. With Texas and OU gone, they might not be nearly as mediocre this time around?
  22. The Number 1 Class that hauled ass…
