  1. Orangefield loses some key players including their probably their second and third best players (although imo they return their best player and their second most talented player). The Thomas kid has the tools to be really special before it’s all said and done. So that being said, I would say OF should be competing for district once again. And Scales will continue on his path to be the best to lace ‘em up in Bobcat country.
  2. Brad is a great dude with a sharp sense of humor. They will miss him over here.
  3. Omar didn’t want the WB job. I doubt he would want this one. He just got a new contact at Lamar too supposedly. SETX is losing another ELITE coach who is an incredible human being as well. Wish Coach Davis and his family all the best.
  4. Y’all see this?
  5. Very well said. I’ve always said he’s the most underrated coach in our area. In my book, no one “taught” the game better than Coach Foster. And it showed watching his teams play. And as great a coach as he is, he’s an even better person. That’s saying something.
  6. I feel this. Really interesting case. Probably more so to us than most any other place in the world. Honestly though, as someone who has heard eminent domain cases as an appointed “referee,” these poor people’s case(s) do seem pretty analogous.
  7. Hook em Scottie Sheffler! Best in the world (And how about another 7 figure score for Dave Portnoy? Back to back futures with UConn and now Scottie.)
  8. I have no idea. Never figured out what it accomplishes either.
  9. You gotta hand it to their marketing - they knew the correct demographic when advertising hookers 😂
  10. No, no @baddog. He assured everyone he would never stop looking for their killer. Must not have had any mirrors in his home…
  11. I just hope someone else picks up the search for Nicole and Ron’s killer 🙏
  12. So Scott Drew to UK? Totally different style than Cal but can’t wait to see what he can do in Lexington. One of those guys everyone seems to like (as opposed to Cal who is pretty polarizing).
  13. Oh why not Sampson? Seems like a natural choice
  14. No run at Nate Oats?
  15. Sounds like it’s happening. What if Musselman pulled a Beard and backed out and went to UK? Mr BG buzzaro world!
  16. Normally the player introductions are the last thing done just before tip off. Do the anthem right before or right after that. Only issue is normally bands play school song right after anthem. Those would need to be done ahead of time to keep it from being too long.
  17. I would say a heavy suggestion by the conference. Let’s see if Tic Price agrees.
  18. And just like that, the outrage puzzle has been solved (and I’m not being facetious - the best solutions are the simplest).
  19. Are you for real or have you been trolling us all this time?
  20. One thousand percent (Work smarter, not harder seems to me to be a foreign concept in coaching.)
  21. I’m with you. I honestly never gave it much thought. I appreciated when my sons’ team WAS out there, they had one hand on their heart on one behind their back (as I’m sure Coach Brooks instructed them - he’s an old school guy who doesn’t tolerate nonsense). I don’t know if I will ever go to another game without noticing now lol
  22. A coach’s job at the college level is to win games and do it legally (or not get caught if you don’t). Period. Wins mean money and the bottom line is all they care about. Building character is probably item #172 on their job description. I had a friend on my FB tell me she was at a Lamar’s men’s game and the team was out and had their hands on their chest during a recent game. Both of my boys had to be in that line so I asked my oldest how many times they were out for the anthem this year he said maybe 5 or 6 times. They played 30 something games. I honestly am surprised if either team is out for the anthem in any league (and I’ve been to games in probably 7 or 8 D1 leagues). If it works out and they are done, they come out. If not, they don’t. But maybe that will change now. If any school (and Iowa WBB is apparently NOT one of them) is out for the anthem before this craziness more often than not, it can’t be more than 5 percent of the schools out there.
  23. Exactly. And there is a lot that can be said about Kim Mulkey (and I would agree with a lot of it). But to portray her as “woke” is laughable. This is the same lady (if my source is reliable and I would heavily bet that it is) that was told by the Baylor AD that she was “too intolerant.” (Which was apparently about the time she began her exit strategy there.) And even Scott Drew, who is a devout Christian and share his faith with anyone any time) allowed way more latitude with his players during the whole craze that was happening following the George Floyd death. As previously stated, she was the only coach in Waco that had zero tolerance with her players acting out. But hey, it made a catchy headline and based upon my social media feeds, hooked plenty of gullible folks.
  24. I appreciate both of your stances. The libertarian in me doesn’t disagree with Hippy, and the father in me has instilled in my son how to behave when the anthem is played. It’s just that 80-90 percent of the time, they are still in the locker room. And let’s face it, that is a business. Will Wade isn’t now making $700k a year at McNeese due to how his team behaves during the anthem. Which is probably why he is using that time to final prep his team as well. Right or wrong, those guys are coaching for their livelihoods and they all are trying to get the best use out of literally every minute of the day pregame to try and get the win.
