  1. 😂🤣😂🤣 that simply can’t be true, can it?
  2. You’re wrong about the administration caring. Dr Taylor at least very much cares. But I can’t find fault with most of what you said. The game today wasn’t even as close as the score. Longwood’s coach is Griff Aldrich, who used to practice law in Houston. However, he’s got a good thing going at Longwood. They won 20 games last year and 26 games the year before. He’s in his 6th year in his first and only head coaching job. I think they are pretty happy with the direction of their program. Hopefully we will be one day.
  3. Interesting notes, former NBA great Reggie Theus coaches Bethune Cookman and my all time favorite author, John Feinstein is the color guy for Longwood basketball.
  4. Best they’ve played all season imo. Hopefully they take advantage of Longwood playing 3 OT periods yesterday vs Delaware St.
  5. I hope you’re right for @BBfan061’s sake. If they handle Jasper next week, I’m rooting for them the rest of the way.
  6. Are we getting to or at the point where we have to talk about Surratt for GOAT coach of high school football @Reagan? Seems like that should be a thing regardless of class or location.
  7. Agreed. Crazy how many sophomores play for them. This was the year to get them. And that was a dang fine PG team that just lost.
  8. Forgive us if we pass on your Carthage predictions 😂
  9. Maybe. But Scott Surratt is Scott Surratt. It’s not an accident he’s about to have to start putting rings on his toes. He has great players for sure but good grief.
  10. This State Championship game is living up to its billing.
  11. There are better teams, schools with way more titles, etc. But I’m honestly not sure if anyone “does” high school football better than PNG.
  12. He’s been fantastic. So has Dr Taylor, who is as committed to athletics as you will see in a university president.
  13. The Pirates have more football games to win. These are great topics for the off season.
  14. Going to lose a heartbreaker on the road. Led as much as 18. With a 1 point lead and the ball with 30 seconds left (where they basically had to foul), Lamar inbounds and gets trapped and fail to call timeout. Get tied up and they had possession. Hit the game winner. Sometimes there is some head scratching stuff going on with that team. Basketball 101 type of stuff. Pacific steals on 77-76. Never should have happened. The last basket gave them their only lead of the game.
  15. Would love to see Silsbee win this one. They can’t have one of those sloppy, undisciplined games though. But that’s the rest of the way. Gun to my head, I would pick Bellville for that reason.
  16. Brandon Prouse has done a heckuva job at Deweyville.
  17. You’re probably exactly right. If I’m Björk, he’s my first call though. He’d have to tell me no. And maybe it was for all we know. And I’m no fan of B/CS but I’d take it any day over Detroit. Might be 109,001 on places I’d most like to live in America.
  18. What about Dan Campbell? I know it’s usually the other way around and college guys move up to NFL. But it’s not unprecedented and he is a member of the cult. Guy is super likable which usually helps recruiting and I think he’s one of the better coaches in the league. And A&M can certainly afford to pay him NFL money.
  19. Well tonight is the best I’ve seen them play under the Brooks regime. Also the best crowd we’ve had in a while in a big win over UTSA. I don’t know if the Roadrunners are going to be very good or not, but it’s still a game we would have pissed away in the past couple of years. Hopefully a harbinger of things to come. We shall see.
  20. Neither had Kirby. I think at this point, everyone is looking for the next Kirby. Which might be to say, looking for the next Saban as it appears Kirby isn’t slowing down any time soon.
  21. Me too. I really hope they go a different direction. I think he’s what Tech was trying to find with McGuire. The next Art Briles. Great coach with all the connections to the Texas HS coaches.
  22. Phil Knight won’t let this one go without a fight. Football coaches don’t get paid enough to money whip him. But he did spend some time at UGA so you never know if he just wants to get back to the SEC. His agent needs to tell him to be quiet though so at a minimum they can get that fat raise/extension.
  23. I do agree with you though. Of the ones mentioned, I think he would be the best fit/surest bet. I don’t know that Lanning is attainable. I don’t think Oregon/Phil Knight is going to let another one get away without a fight. The only issue I would have with Meyer is he doesn’t seem to last anywhere for very long. But I don’t think there’s a more proven commodity available at the college level anywhere other than Smart, Saban and Swinney. Speaking of Dabo, he is another interesting idea. And he’s already accustomed to coaching in a cult situation.
