How big is he?
As a Freshman he is around 5'-10" - 6'-0" and weighs about 150. He's still got some growing to do and he will put on some more weight.

In bold: that was told to me Friday night. Is that freshman a dual threat QB or more of a pocket passer?
He is a dual threat. I love Crippen but he is a pure pocket passer. If he gets into the right offense in college he will do very well. This Freshman can run and throw on the run. He will need to acclimate hisself to the speed of the varsity level. It will be interesting how these coaches evaluate the situation at QB next year.

Who's quarterbackìng next year?
Shea may not be the QB next year. There is a Freshman coming up that was on the sidelines all year that has a very good shot at taking over. If he does take over this will free Shea up to do what he did this year and be placed anywhere on the field. With the coaches having a year of knowledge of what he is capable of, just watch what they come up with to get him the ball. It could be real fun to watch.

I truly believe if we had this coaching staff through the RJ years. We would have been to STATE those years.

I know that nobody wants to talk about it, but you may be watching the next Katy HS head coach when his dad retires. His resume will be pretty good.
I’ve been thinking the same thing myself buddy.

Anyone know if Liberty Hill has a good fan base?
Yes, they have a good following.

Liberty Hill is the home team...interesting I thought they would pick a bigger stadium
Kyle Field is about the midway point for both teams. But I guess A&M didn’t allow them to play there because they didn’t want to be shown up by two high school teams that would show them how real football is played.

Man, I don’t know. Usually round 4, the PNG crowd usually starts getting crazy big😂 Just get me a couple tickets since you have some stroke. Lol
I don’t have any stroke buddy. I just happen to be at the right place at the right time when the announcement was made. Since this is the first time since 1999 to make it to the 4th round I expect it to be packed. Especially with who we are playing.

FBM will probably bring about 2K max of fans and people who just wanna watch them play. It'll be more than enough room for Png folks to attend if they want.
I really feel bad for them. When we have played them in the past, even in the playoffs, they were lucky to have 200-300 people in the stands. That’s band included. It’s sad some parents and family won’t go see their kids or family preform. The playoffs may bring in a little more but not much.

104 degrees at kickoff 140 on the turf. They moved the game and game time during the week of the game. Then brought only 18 cases of water for the visiting team. Their excuse.... sorry it was an oversight
I believe this was in Tomball.

Just curious do u guys know how the injuns are preparing this week with all the rain? Not sure about PAM. I would imagine gym during the athletic period with basketball going on after school… today looks like a good day and maybe tomorrow. Thursday is gonna be rough
School is out for Thanksgiving. PNG can practice whatever time they need to so I don't think it's been a problem since they have turf.

There is not enough top talent in this area to win with. Straight from a former Lamar recruiter and a Coordinator’s mouth.
I understand there is not enough talent around here to win with. But there is talent here that are going other places that are not recruited by Lamar. I'm not talking about the top tier 5* or 4* athletes but there are some very good 3* athletes that are going off to McNesse, SFA, Sam Houston, Mary Hardin Baylor, ULL and other schools the same level as Lamar that they could keep home. Yes, I unerstand they need to recruit other places as well but if you keep local talent from going away then that puts fans in the seats because family and friends will come to see them play. Which means increased attendance which in turn brings in more money for the school.

Who ever Lamar brings in must have Texas ties, coached here knows there way around the state good relationship with hs coaches, and promise to recruit this area better.
I know everyone wants to open up the pocketbook for the head coach but dont forget it takes a village, they need to pay those coordinators and assistant coaches as well..
They have the money to still pay the coordinators as well as other coaches. They just chose not to give anymore money to the athletic department then they already do. Look at Vincent Beck. That place is in dire need of a major upgrade. They need a new locker room with a coaches office in the actual building itself. The bathrooms are definitely need upgrading. If they only realized that if you have successful programs that the money will come back because people around here will go and support them. Nobody wants to go pay money to watch your hometown team get their arse kicked day in and day out.
-
If Lamar wants to hire a good coach they will have to open up their pocketbook and upgrade the salary to somewhere in the $350,000 to $400,00 or more in my opinion. I know that's not going to bring in the top coaches but it will peak the interest of some young up and coming guru who has been successful as a coordinator in DII or other divisions. With what they pay now is why they can't bring anybody other than these guys that say they have coached before but Junior League shouldn't count. The guys they bring in don't know anything about this area and don't recruit it. They need to bring in somebody that knows the area and gives the athletes around here an incentive to stay home. There's not much to do in this area but if you put a winning team on the field, a lot of area talent would probably stay home. Barbay probably doesn't want it because he is probably making more as an assistant where he is. I don't think Briles would even sniff at it. I've heard someone mention Dodge but that's not going to happen either. He's happy and will not stoop down to the level Lamar is at right now. He did that once before at North Texas and that didn't end well. I think he would elevate the program but it won't happen. Hopefully this new AD will convince administration to fork out more money and bring in somebody that can bring this program to new levels and bring community interest back to Lamar sports.

If I were Forney I would have left today to travel down here so the boys can sleep in a little on Friday and feed them a good breakfast and lunch. They aren’t going to be able to go to school on Friday. Four hours is a quite a haul for a two and a half hour game. I know it will probably be charter buses but that is still a long time.

Btw(by the way), if this kid is "#2" I gotta find/see the "#1" kid. Gotta be off the charts for an 8 year old! Probably got NIL deal(s) in the making.
LOL.
He probably not only has NIL deals in the making but Alabama, Texas, A&M, LSU and the other Power 5 schools have already promised a full ride, his own dorm room and what ever type of vehicle he wants. And he is just the #2 rank in that age group. Can you imagine what they have for the #1 ranked kid that age.

The groups of parents wanting the "A" team in junior league are the same parents that run off quality winning high school coaches like Faircloth, because their self proclaimed "A" team kids can't out play some of the "B" team kids in high school....
EXACTLY!!!!!……..but there was a little more behind the Fairclothe stuff.

Well looks like no one followed up on this issue from STJFL and now I heard the 💩 has hit the fan. PNG apparently has an A and B team for their two senior teams and some parents weren’t very happy about that and who would be. It’s not like the B team would be playing other B teams. So why not split the teams equally. What coaches wants to do that and have the B team with all the better kids going to the other team. Heard coaches and board members are getting suspended. O and a PNG board member/coach got suspended for falsifying his USA football certification. Really Really you can’t take couple hours and complete the course. I’m so glad I’m done with little league sports. Parents are in it for themselves and not the kids. I’m pretty sure no kid has been recruited from youth sports and signed a deal the next season.
I’m glad I’m through with this stuff. When my son played there were three teams. They had a purple, a white, and a gray team. We had a draft and all the kids were available for a three teams to draft. If you had the crappie team then you just sucked at drafting. This 💩 of making an A and B team and splitting it where the good kids go to the A team and the others go to the B team is strictly for the Dads. I know they do it in school but that is different. The problem at the STJFL level is you are supposed to coach these kids and teach them what the game is about. These coaches now days are all about making themselves look good and don’t want to teach. This could come back and bite them in the arse. Through all my years I have seen kids that may not have been as good as the others but come high school some of them are beating the other “studs” in junior league out because those “studs” hit their peak already. These other kids are hitting their peak at the right time. I’ve seen it happen for years and when those “studs” aren’t playing in high school. Those are the parents that you hear all the bi___ing and moaning from.

I don't know everything about him but what difference does it make? He is just a Freshman. By next year everything about him more than likely will change. Most kids around this age go through major growth spurts. The kid is good and will more than likely compete for the starting QB job next season.
