  1. PNG will be fine. Remember last year Crippen didn’t look all that great in the beginning of the season. Then everything started coming together. New coach, new philosophy. Now Adams takes over and hasn’t been a QB for three years. Joseph has his way of doing things and the first game of the season is about how the QB reacts in certain situations and he may call something that will purposely put him in that position just to see how he reacts to it. Adams didn’t have to read coverage or get guys lined up in the right position. Now he does so it will take a little while but he will get there just like Crippen did.

1st off Hemphill is really a 2A school (purpleeagles)

2nd yes, Hemphill lost ALOT of talent last year. So, it will definitely will be hard to replace that

Oh yea, Hemphill’s starting running back did play. Don’t know where they got it from as all Hemphill players played.

Hemphill’s starting RB did I not play because he was, I guess you could say, in lockdown. That came from a Hemphill coach himself whom I know very well.

"The Game" between Baytown Sterling and Baytown Lee. May not be what it once was but I'd like to see how many other high school rivalries draw 13k. Also the loser of that game traditionally falls apart the rest of the season over the loss.

I also like the trio of BH/Crosby/Dayton.

Deer Park and La Porte is also awesome.

Side note. Talking to the kids, Baytown Sterling vs. Goose Creek Memorial is gaining traction quickly. GCM kids wanted to do workouts at 5 a.m. when they heard Sterling worked at 5:30. It will only get more intense now that both are 6A.

PN-G and Nederland tops 13k just about every year. They have had in excess of 15k to 16k in attendance when a district championship or anything else of significants is at stake. This is the best rivalry anywhere. The atmosphere is unexplainable when these two take the field against each other.

Friendswood illegal substitution.  Protest underway.  They are on the phone with the UiL now.  Their coach doesn’t seem very bright.  This isn’t the first time

What did they try to do. Player not on roster? Illegal pitcher?

This is a good point. I just believe that PA Memorial can be better than that. I just do. I know, I know…it’s a tough district. Man, I get it with the BH, PNG, and Crosby. Get you a coach that has experience turning around losing programs. Beaumont United may have ended up 0-24 or whatever it was , but I still think baseball wise Memorial can do better than the record going forward. Either way , they will get everyone back come football season with the talent they are bringing back on the football field next year.

First off PA needs someone to come in and get kids interested in playing baseball. They only had 10 kids in the whole program. It starts with the Little Leagues and the ones PA has are in shambles. Some people have tried to get kids excited about it but failed. It’s all about getting the parents interested in baseball. The parents are centered on Football and Basketball because that’s what they know is the strong sports in their school and better shot at getting scholarships in those sports.

Good news is that Altuve should be back sooner than originally projected. He'll get a smaller cast today and could return as soon as May.

New rules sure do speed up the game. Not sure if I'm a fan of them or not. But like one big leaguer said, we're making millions to play a kids game and just have to get used to it.

I did notice that Valdez seemed to get frustrated when he needed a lil extra time to get ready to make a pitch. The problem I see with the pitch timer, is that the catcher has to be in position by certain time, the batter has to be in position by different time, and then the pitcher must start the delivery by another time. If for any reason one of those doesn't make it in time, it's a violation. Why have different times for each when the timer is still going. IMO, it should be more like play/shot clock in other sports. How bout if a play doesn't start within the given time, penalize the team responsible. Have a set time to start the pitch. And everyone be ready by that time.

Think it's stupid to have 8 secs left on the clock and say, batter wasn't in the box... Strike 3!!! The reason for the 8 seconds on the batter is so he doesn’t stay out of the box till the last second and does not give the pitcher time to deliver a pitch before the clock expires. I think all the rule changes suck. Why speed up the game. I pay a hell of a lot of money to go watch a professional game. I want to be there a while. I’m not there to see an express version of the game. If your going to speed up the game…..lower prices from ticket sales to concessions.

    Will PNG take district?

No, PNG is relying on Freshman and Sophmores as pitchers. They aren’t Douro bad right now but I don’t know how long hold on. They don’t have any depth there .they don’t have any leadership on this team. It’s hard to believe because most of those kids were on the football team.As of now that vibe has not carried over with them. I personally don’t see them winning district at this point. I hope things change for the good but we will see.

Hard to tell from the video much of anything. It is on KFDM's facebook page. The dad was upset his daughter in her last game as a senior was not getting to play. I can sympathize with that. Put in four years of work to ride the pine on a team that has nothing to play for while underclassmen play the whole game. He said something to the coach, the coach popped off back and he went towards her and the husband jumped up and got involved. This is from someone that was there. The truth is likely somewhere close to that.

Somewhat true. The girl that’s dad caused all this was a senior. She was on JV last year and didn’t play very much and had not played very much if any this year. Plus the girl missed a week of practice prior to this game just because she wanted to. PNG had to win that game in order to have a play in game for the playoffs. So the coach was thinking about the team and not about an individual. So sorry somebody’s feeling’s got hurt. It was a very immature incident and nobody has talked about the little girl who got landed on and broke her leg because of this idiot. The dad is banned from anymore PNG sports. Should have charges against him because the video doesn’t show him throwing Fbombs and poking the coach in the forehead. That’s why her husband came out of the stands and confronted the dad.

  9. This is all B.S.! I really don’t support this NIL crap but it’s here now. But now that it is here there should have been a CAP put on it. The cap should have been $50,000 a year, just my opinion, and no more and heavily enforced. If a kid is found to be making more then that then they should be suspended and lose a year of eligibility. The school should be fined and lose aa many recruits that next year for as many are caught that year per sport. The NCAA is a joke and a lot of these kids think they are entitled to this. We need to get America back to being a God loving country and money doesn’t control everything and it was fun to go out and do family things. Screw this woke culture crap. It has totally screwed up America and we, the people that try to live by the Bible, need to take America back.
