That is true but it also looked like nobody on their defense could get off a block or make an open field tackle. Mabank must not have a very good record, they don’t tackle and they don’t block. We’d probably be better off judging CH against a better team.

Couple that style of offense with a strong defensive performance and I feel good about our chances. The only thing that worries me a bit is their big play ability but we have played many teams like that this season. We just have to wear them down and be within striking distance at the end. I’d prefer one of those dominating performances the Pirates have shown at times this year.

They look at point differential when there’s 3 teams tied, that’s when it matters how much you won by or lost by to your common opponents. Doesn’t really work with just 2 teams since you have that head to head result but it’s just to determine seeding. We had a 3 way share of the district title a few years ago but I can’t remember what seed we ended up getting or what our point differential was.

I liked the guy that said CH loses their composure.  I think the Pirates can help with that, lol.  Had a Lindale fan post:
“The Vidor offense makes the other team offense say, wait, we’re only getting the ball 5 or 6 times, we have to do something.  Then mistakes start to happen.  Easily the fastest half of football I’ve ever seen was the first half of the Vidor game last year.  We were all saying, Wow, it’s halftime.  We’d only had 3 possessions.  Vidor ate up 9-10 minutes on one TD drive.  It was crazy.  Makes the other team start to press.”
Hope it has that effect on CH.

PHYSICAL SPEED

Hoping they bring up some of that JV talent to fill in the depth needed at the running back positions. They’ve got some talented running backs on the JV team that could really help. Guess it’s fitting to say all hands on deck for this playoff game! Go Pirates! 🏴‍☠️

That’s not good, bad time of the year for that. I hear Vidor suffered one to a key two way player as well, hard fought battle of a ballgame for sure.

I’ve mentioned several times about Dist 9’s lack of defense.  Here’s some info on both Districts Points Against.
Vidor  170   Chapel Hill  252
LCM  184   Palestine  320
Ltown  195   Lindale  317
Huffman  118   Kilgore  233
Not sure what their approach is to defense, but it’s certainly not high up on their priorities.  It should be noted that they score a lot more points than Dist 10, but with defenses like they have, they have too.
 

This line of thinking is exactly what has created the downturn in society over the past several decades. Parents never pushing their kids to take personal responsibility for their choices or their role in bad situations. Even if all of what you said is true, your teaching your son to lay down and cry when things aren't fair. That's not a life lesson that will serve him well. I highly doubt Mac's staff would have lasted as long as it has had he run his program this way. 

If we manage to defeat CH, we’ll probably face Brazosport in the second round.

You can’t look at head to head results to determine the champ? We just give it to both or everybody who has the same district record, a 3 way tie I could understand with losses amongst the 3 but with 2 teams… come on now. This was determined on the field but anyhow, congrats to both teams. Co-District Champions and much luck in the playoffs to all the local teams. Sorry not you Huffman, SETXsports takes 1, 2 and 3 this season.

the pirates gave em 48 minutes of hell tonight.
 
but lumberton is legit, when we finally sent some pressure on their QB it definitely had him rattled and threw off his timing with his receivers. I literally screamed all game to send some pressure and when we did, it helped shift the momentum.

Yea that’s the seed HH came out of last seasons and made a run, beat Palestine in the first round. CH beat our district champ in the playoffs last year so I know they can be dangerous. Plus we’re even more banged up now, hearing our FB/DE is done.
