the projection for it's direction is straight east, so we should be fine.

bullets13 got a reaction from MoFo in HJ -vs- Off Week
With HJ's ability to control the ball, and the clock, I feel like they should take this one. For once, being so bad that it takes them 10 tries to score on an empty field will really play into their advantage, as they'll have several long drives that will run out the clock. I'll say HJ wins 21-4, with Bye Week scoring on a couple of bad snaps out of the back of HJ's own endzone. :D :P ;)

They've signed him through 2020. A kicker with a 6-year contract should be pretty happy :) -

Word on the street is HJ is to slow and non-athletic to compete with Off Week.

bullets13 got a reaction from HJ2012 in Hardin-Jefferson 54 Hamshire-Fannett 39/Final
The good thing is if HJ plays them fairly close, only a couple of hawk fans have to eat crow. If HJ manages to win, all of east texas won't have to worry about crows eating corn off their deer feeder this season. -
bullets13 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Giants at Cowboys
The boys have looked fantastic since week 2. Even better, two of their next three games are Washington at home and at Jacksonville. Arizona in between those two will be a tough test, but the boys get them at home. The cowboys should probably be at least 8-2 through 10 games, and 9-1 is not out of the realm of possibilities. -

This is one of those quality sec west losses we keep hearing about. It's like it doesn't count. -

Every fan ever is used to that, because the ones that go against you stick out in your mind. The ones that go your way were just good calls ;) -

bullets13 got a reaction from Big girl in Ebola!!
So the media is definitely being irresponsible by praying off the fear of the uneducated masses. as they usually do. ebola is very serious, but it's incredibly easy to stop from spreading, or would be if they'd done things right with the first case. That being said, why are we still letting people fly to and from West Africa right now? And why would a nurse who's been treating a dying ebola patient for the last couple of weeks be allowed to board a commercial flight this soon after dealing with him, and after another nurse had already been diagnosed? that seems incredibly irresponsible on both the parts of the CDC and the nurse for that to happen. no common sense there. hopefully she was not contagious while on the flight. the one good thing about this disease is that there's an incubation time, and the carrier is not contagious until they exhibit symptoms, so every new case still gives healthcare workers time to isolate and stop the spread of the disease (assuming healthcare workers don't screw up and get it). -

Yeah, but Buna can control the clock. As an HJ fan, who's seen the exact same scenario all year, you should know that clock management and a tough defense can easily beat speed. -
bullets13 got a reaction from WildcatBacker in Oct. 17 – Kirbyville at Buna (Predictions)
Not really. Every team has plenty of posters like me and you and wildcatbacker who'll debate and talk a little trash. But there are only a special few who will guarantee victory in the face of great opponents while degrading everyone who dares to oppose their opinion :) -

Take away the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter and they lose by 21. -
bullets13 got a reaction from Chs96 in WOS@ORANGEFIELD
WOS will win, but if OF can get their offense going a little it will shorten the game. And WOS will know they played a tough team. I'll say WOS 38, OF 14, but a relatively close game until late in the 3rd. -

I have no problem with the picture of the whiteboard drawing. That's pretty funny, and harmless. We used to have signs around school like "scalp the Indians", "kill the cats" or whatever. So yeah, who cares about the picture. The comment by the teacher/coach wouldn't bother me much if he wasn't a teacher/coach, or at least if it wasn't on facebook. I feel like there's a certain amount of professionalism and sportsmanship that coaches should be held to. It's one thing to say something like that to your own team, and as a player coaches might say something like that to us, which isn't a big deal (in the locker screaming "we kicked their ..., they're the worst team in town! now we're the best team in town! etc.), it's another thing completely when posted online where it could be read by hundreds of people and possibly spread to the media. It's an insult that is derogatory to a whole team of high school kids, who have now ALL been exposed to the putdown through the media, and that is the age group that this coach has been hired to promote and lift up, not degrade and embarrass. So on a whole, I don't think it's the biggest deal in the world, but if you're going to sign on to be a teacher and a coach, and at least theoretically devote a good part of your life to educating young people, you should provide a better example and make sure that you're not doing anything that might negatively affect the kids you're supposed to help.
All that having been said, to answer the question of "too far or oversensitive?", the correct answer is "yes." -

I have a feeling he is someone who trys to fit in with kids... Thinks it's cool. But he isn't one of the kids. His job is to win with class, to teach respect. And his comments on social media was classless and disrespectful.. Is it 6 o'clock news worthy? Not even close.
