  1. I played D-3 college soccer, and the top 6 teams from my conference made the conference tourney. it was a little different format than what you are saying, but when it came down to it, the tourney final was ALWAYS between two of the top 3-4 teams. In the same sense, the gap between 1st place and 6th place is huge in this district. I don't think you'd have to worry about any major upsets.
  2. I don't think it will help them, as they have so much momentum already, and they will surely lose some with that long of a rest. Of course, their rotation will be set and their bullpen will be very fresh.
  3. Absolutely... on a regular basis, i think it would probably change from year to year, depending on the talent level for each team.
  4. I think lumberton deserves to be towards the top, but i'd still like to see them beat PNG and Nederland before they're placed ahead of them... I know they're undefeated, but their schedule could've been a little stronger... i think 3rd or 4th might be better right now, with the understanding that if they take PNG or Ned down, that they leapfrog them in the standings... I also believe that if they beat Nederland AND PNG, they should be ranked 1st. i don't think they can beat WB head's up, but if they run the table in district, they deserve to be crowned the best team in the area (unless WB goes undefeated in district as well).
  5. i don't know... i would've put them ahead of the rangers and pirates, at least...
  6. most people expected central to be a really good team this year. they've been beaten (pretty convincingly) by really good teams two weeks in a row now. people are not going to keep talking about them like they're really good. it doesn't matter that the second loss was to lumberton... had it been to png or dayton, people would still be talking about them the same way.
  7. I've been more than impressed with ya'll this year, and surprised a few times too. That has nothing to do with the fact that i just don't see PNG losing to both ya'll and dayton.
  8. really? i would be surprised if png didn't at least split those two games, and coming off a HUGE win against the bulldogs, i wouldn't be surprised if they won them both.
  9. I've said this before, and i'll say it again: HJ is just fortunate that they WOS decided to try to pass the ball. it was already well established they couldn't stop the run.
  10. Game 3 update Rockies lead 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd thanks to a Holliday HR.
  11. absolutely not... the real question is "will HJ win another football game?"
  12. Right now, i have to say: 1. PNG 2. Lumberton 3. Winner of the nederland/dayton game of course, as competitive as this district is, next week it might look completely different.
  13. Before the silsbee/HF game, i would've predicted a closer game... after that game, i have to say: WOS-48 Silsbee-13
  14. i think this is a game that bridge city can make interesting, but OF really impressed me this past week. OF 41 BC 20
  15. good thing they moved him up in the rotation. does he have on a bloody sock?
  16. i can't imagine how nice that scoreboard looked to the indian fans... i like the pic
