  1. no, they've been pretty average, but kenny cooper's been out for forever, and carlos ruiz just came back from injury a couple of weeks ago.
  2. dang, you're going to be throwing spears? i better not come to that game.
  3. this year they tried to get the texans, but they had a preseason game the same night that lumberton had an opening.
  4. Absolutely. It's an upset... but if they do beat them, after they've beaten dayton, i wouldn't consider a win over png an upset.
  5. i think it should be banned. if you're close enough to horse collar you're close enough find another way to make the tackle. i saw a kid's arm end up broken in 3 places when he was horsecollared back when i was playing. it's just too dangerous.
  6. i'll never forget when our head football coach came out to soccer practice and TOLD me i'd be kicking the next season for him... i did enjoy it, though
  7. I don't know about this pete sampress guy, but the backup seems to have done quite a job ;D
  8. I'm hoping there will be some educated posts where people explain why they pick who they do.
  9. If they can beat central, then they have two wins against the traditional "top 4", and they will have my respect. I will consider them one of the top teams in the district.
  10. they'd hate him worse than the guy who caught that foul ball.
  11. Week 7 Illinois @ Iowa LSU @ Kentucky Louisville @ Cincinnati Auburn @ Arkansas Oklahoma St. @ Nebraska Texas A&M @ Texas Tech Missouri @ Oklahoma Colorado @ Kansas State Purdue @ Michigan Georgia Tech @ Miami
  12. There should be a seperate "Lumberton HS Football" forum... they've been the most talked about sports team on the whole site for about three weeks now
  13. someone needs to get their priorities straight.
  14. When I first joined this site, the soccer forum was jumping. I realize that HS soccer isn't in season right now, but a lot of Europe leagues just started up, and the MLS is heading towards the playoffs. Where are all the soccer fans at? It seems like any thread that gets started on here gets 2 replies and then sits for a week before anyone else even looks at it. WHERE'S EVERYONE AT?
  15. This requires some imagination folks... i want you to tell me who is the best team in the area, not on who would beat who, but on how they stack up against competition in their own classifications ( i know West Brook would beat East Chambers, but you could argue that East Chambers is better in 2a than West Brook is in 5a). Not sure how clear all that is, but i think you all can figure out what i mean.
  16. i kicked in high school, and unless i was needed to play scout team, i generally was sent to the game field while everyone else practiced at the practice field. of course, i got to talk to all the girls that were running around the track
  17. really? this is only lumberton's second test of the year. they are 1-0 in real games. i don't understand why a few lumberton fans don't get that... i think it's the fans that are screaming for respect that have caused so many of us to not give it. Now i'm not saying lumberton is overrated... i'm saying nobody really knows yet. this week will tell the tale. one way or another, this is the week where everyone finds out what lumberton is all about. any team can pull off a lucky win, and i know i personally just want to see another game against a COMPETITIVE opponent to show me that lumberton can consistently compete with quality opponents.
  18. I love mark cuban, and he's done great things for basketball. i think he'd be a great baseball owner too, but i don't know about with the cubs... his high-volume inyourface ownership style just doesn't mesh with the tradition of the cubs. maybe he should buy the rangers or something.
  19. I'm with you... i cheered for the sox until they won one. now it's time for the tribe to make it to the series and lose to the national league team of my choosing
  20. nope, that type of thing is only used down here to alter political lines to rearrange texas' demographics in the house of representatives.
  21. that's a bold statement considering a game hasn't been played. how do you figure in injuries that haven't happened yet, or playoff opponents that haven't been decided yet?
  22. he's large and fast, and young. he will be very good the next couple of years.
