no. half the teams from a district should not make the playoffs.

it already seems like they've been losing forever... but i'm sure they'll make it in the next few years if they keep steadily improving.

i think since the lumberton win, the only people that still have dayton in the 1 or 2 spot are dayton fans, and lumberton fans who want their win over dayton to be the win of the century instead of just a really nice win.

ok, ok, the upper middle . i'll amend my previous post to include pn-g with the four other teams, and say that lumberton needs to win 3 out of 5.

i don't think you can make any judgements based on records at this point. i'm not bashing lumberton, but their wins are less impressive than nederlands (in fact, it could be argued that their wins are less impressive than png's losses). i think it's going to hinge on how lumberton does against the middle of the pack. if they can take 3 of 4 from ozen/lcm/vidor/central, they have a decent shot.

Jimmy Rollins. he set the table for the phils' offense all year... joined the 20/20/20/20 club. incredible defense, incredible offense. a true 5-tool player, who guaranteed a playoff berth, and then delivered. on a sidenote, if matt holliday wins, i won't raise any arguments.

that's pretty amazing considering how badly he was swinging the bat during the first couple of months of the season. he's really turned it around in the second half.

and what a run they've been on! i'll be pulling for them too.

i hate to see him go. he's obviously not the player he once was, but he's still productive, and has a flair for the dramatic. what a tremendous career.

Lumberton has gained respect from this win. they are obviously a better team this year than in the past. that being said, i'm not willing to write them in as a playoff team just yet. this dayton win is big for lumberton, but as wins go, i'll be more impressed if lumberton wins against pn-g, nederland, or central. dayton is obviously not as good as last year, regardless of what the dayton faithful say, and may only pull off 2 or 3 wins in district this year (unless they seriously turn it around). lumberton, enjoy your win... you've earned it. use it to boost your confidence, but don't let it go to your head. this is a good win for lumberton, but you're going to have to play a lot better to consistently win against the top-half of this district.

i'm thinking maybe hf and orangefield... 5-5.

I'm curious what ya'll think... i don't know that they have anyone left on their schedule as weak as the three teams they've squeaked out wins against. I'm hoping that they come up big, but i have my doubts... someone with some firsthand knowledge give me the scoop here.

Julie Foudy said that she wasn't sure that she'd want Hope Solo in goal behind her if she was still playing for the USWNT after the comments that Solo made about the game yesterday. Solo said that she felt she would have made the saves on Brazil goals, and that Scurry should not have been started solely on what she had done in the past. I'm inclined to agree with Hope, but i don't know if she should have said what she said. What if HJ's quarterback, running back, and fullback hadn't gotten hurt in the 8th game of the season in 2001. We started out 8-0, then lost two games by a total of 3 points and got our butts handed to us in the first round of the playoffs. we had to play our last three games with little or no contributions from a 1,000 yard rusher, a 1,500 yard rusher, and a 1,000 yard passer.

they didn't have many seniors last year, did they?

my biggest concern is that the prices haven't changed for the players since the beginning of the season. now i'm trying to catch up, and i share 5 or 6 players with everyone in the league because we all have the cheapest players that are producing.
