  1. i have the best shot in the area. i'm just old, fat, and washed up. i can still sting your hands though.
  2. i'm hoping they can pick it back up. when i went through there, we went to playoffs 3 out of 4 years, and split a district championship with lumberton.
  3. and really, what are the requirements? at least one good leg and the ability to understand jorge when he's trying to coach while he's giggling?
  4. i hope he stays... if he does, texas has to be top three team next year. they did very well this year starting four freshmen and a sophomore. if he leaves, though, who can blame him?
  5. yeah, frank was a jerk, but he was a good player.
  6. collins played for lumberton... i was a freshman when he was a senior, but i played him a few times, and several times in open league. i still think that william freeman from silsbee was a little better. i played with will on club teams, and he was very, very good.
  7. I'm with you, scooter. A) having a shot clock would keep a team from holding the ball for minutes at a time to kill a game. high school players would be better prepared for college ball C) i'm a big fan of anything that pushes up the score and makes the game more exciting
  8. yes they were, but josh davis was by far the best for them during those years.
  9. west brook had a foreign exchange student from sweden named peter benkten (sp?), and he was the real deal... only played one season for them and was 1st team all state... this must have been back in 99 or 2000. the stewarts from silsbee were good, and william freeman played goal for them, and he was excellent. while we're on the smaller school, HJ had john mccarthy, casey mccormick, and lucas harris. frank schumann was very good for west orange stark, knapp for lcm, tons for nederland and png and lumberton.
  10. joe fontana wasn't that good of a player... well, let me rephrase that. he was a good player, but not a superstar. i played with him in club and against him in school, and although he was very fast, he wasn't supertalented.
  11. H-J shot like crap today. Judging by the box score, they didn't play all that well. I think on Saturday they'll really perform, now that they've already played a game on the big stage. H-J by 2 in triple overtime.
  12. they must be calling the game tight, each team has two players with 3 fouls each, and HJ has three more players with 2 fouls... chapel hill has one guy with 2 fouls... let them play! CH's center has already attempted 13 free throws!
