  1. Although they deserve all the credit in the world for their vast improvement, they're cursed by being in a really solid district. It's very unlikely that they'll go to the playoffs next year. You have 6 teams who are all good enough to go to the playoffs this year in Lumberton, Nederland, Central, PNG, Vidor, and LCM. Although Ozen has improved, they are still a ways away from being in the same class as these teams. Even if Ozen continues improving, it's doubtful to me that four of these teams will drop off enough to make room for Ozen to sneak in. That being said, if they continue to improve, I wouldn't be shocked if they pull off a few wins against some of these teams next year.
  2. everyone who's a fan of southeast texas football in general, and not just mid county teams.
  3. The bears definitely punched their ticket. I think if they can get a big upset in the Big 12 tourney they might could even go as high as a 6 or 7 seed.
  4. What an incredible shot, but it shouldn't have counted. That and a missed foul call gave UCLA the game... this is the second game in a row where the officials have had a lot to do with UCLA winning.
  5. This is true... also, I'd really like to see Texas beat Tech by about 30 to get some revenge for us losing our 1 seed in the NCAA tourney.
  6. WOS has a whole district's number!
  7. Another solid win for the horns... Okie State has been playing decent basketball of late.
  8. Was it the Mavericks trading for Kidd, or the Suns trading for Shaq? The Suns traded a disgruntled superstar to get an antique of a center who's hurt half the time. Sure, they've now got a slightly better "post presence", but their run and gun style is suffering. Although they needed to get rid of Marion, I think they could've gotten a lot better player for him. They are 3-6 since making the trade. The Mavs traded a possible future superstar in Harris, plus several decent role players to get an antique of a point guard. Although he's healthy, and can still pass well, Kidd has failed to improve the Mavs. His scoring has always been shaky, and his rebounding has decreased since the move. The Mavs are 4-5 since making the trade. Obviously, neither trade has had the desired effect. As both of these players are very old, these trades were designed to immediately improve their teams, which has not happened. The question is, which trade was the biggest flop?
  9. When i was going through HJ, us and Silsbee were always fighting for second place behind Lumberton, so I pull for you guys... that being said, this is beyond optimistic. It'll be a struggle for ya'll to win one of those games. LCM is playing really good soccer right now, Vidor has been solid all year, and Central is finally starting to get some good results against the top teams in the district. If you had HJ, Ozen, and WOS left, then maybe this would be a little more plausible, although Ozen is not the easy result they've been in years past.
  10. A bit surprising that this was a one goal game, but Ozen is much improved, and for Nederland, a win is a win.
  11. turning into one hell of a race for 2nd-6th.
  12. Have their been any long ones in recent years? I remember back in the day we had some teams go far, but I haven't been around the past 5 or 6 years. Has anyone gone deep into the playoffs lately?
  13. someone wins in a shootout.
  14. To old and slow. He can still pass... but he's not scoring at all.
  15. not looking like such of a peach of a trade now that the mavericks are playing .500 ball with kidd.
  16. Vidor 3 Central 2
  17. best team in the district vs. one at the very bottom= no contest. I hope my hawks can get a respectable result though.
  18. nice win for the cards!
  19. Congrats on a great season! You showed everybody just how wrong they were for not putting ya'll in the rankings... I'm excited to see ya'll and my hawks duke it out next year.
  20. Made it reasonable with one to go. No reason why they can't come back!
  21. Texas' youth may explain why they are always pumped up and ready for the big games, but sometimes overlook teams they should beat.
