I'm starting to think that Texas probably overachieved at the beginning of the season more than they're underachieving now.  They're definitely a good team, but a #20 ranking or so is probably about where they deserve to be right now.

this is the first horns loss that i can actually take some positives out of... they struggled through a poorly played game to keep it close against #1 KU.  their defense played well enough to win the game against probably 90% of the teams in the nation.  Brown is starting to emerge into the player he's going to have to be if the horns are going to be successful.  still, this is going to go down as another loss in a game where most fans are going to go away shaking their heads, feeling like things could've gone much differently.

It seems like Brown might be turning a corner here... the one thing he's doing that's hurting him is shying away from contact when he drives a lot of the time.  a strong drive for a layup is still being turned into a twisting, dodging circus shot too often.  still, he's doing a bit of a better job of that in this game, and it's showing.  

i don't care what the announcers say, the dude may need room, but he seemed to have enough to throw an elbow straight into James' face.

J Brown is having a great 2nd half.  Glad at least one horn has decided to step up.
