Maybe the Vidor team is young and their getting a little more playing experience and confidence as they prepare for war.
according to joesbros, "98%" of this team is returning from last year's team.
 2.
Lots of people on here concerned about Vidor this year. Must mean they're doing something right.
beating the crap out of really bad teams, or losing their first district game?  they've got a solid squad, and they've got a solid coach.  who knows, maybe they beat nederland if they have any experience at all this year playing against a good opponent (and by any, i mean a single game, even)
 3.
After tonights game, I think Vidor proved a lot of you guys wrong. They may not have won, but they proved that they can hang. Nederland didn't really have an off night either, so that excuse is out the window. As I'm a Vidor fan, I mat be somewhat biased. However, I have a big cheesy smile on my face as I'm writing this because I think Vidor just shut all those haters up. They didn't win, but that was a close game. I can imagine Bryan English had a little sweat running down his face all the way to the end of the game.
i've been out of town, or i would've responded to this sooner.  as one of the "haters", i'm not going to give them much credit for losing against the ONLY real opponent they've faced all season.  i did see that bounced back with another win over local powerhouse legacy.
 4. i use a thompson-center 25-06, and i love it.  tight groupings at long range, only a moderate kick, and a more than adequate round for taking down deer.  the plus to the TC is for less than 200 dollars you can buy a new barrel and change the caliber to just about anything you want.  of course, you don't get to go out and spray the woods with bullets.  you're only getting one shot, so you better make it count.
How did they exploit them? All they did was break their press the whole game. I'm sure every team on their schedule practices breaking presses, so there was really nothing to exploit. Findlay Prep was just better.
you asked, then answered your own question.  they were too good for Yates to press, but Yates knows no other way of playing, so they exploited that by consistently breaking the press and getting easy layups and dunks.  had Yates had ANY semblance of a half-court game, this game could've been much closer.

 7.
This coaching staff is underrated and this team is ready thats all Im saying.
we'll know soon enough.  i don't have a clue.
 8. joe, i'm not going to argue your point, as it's valid, but i don't think games that happened 10 months ago are going to have them ready for the same type of games this year, especially with absolutely nothing leading up to district to get them "re-prepared" for this type of ball.
 9.
The KIDS don't make the schedule and the KIDS won all the games they were supposed to win... Seems that people are bitter that they haven't loss.. Vidor has lost to some of these teams in recent years.. I'm not saying they will win state, or district for that matter but no need to discredit what the kids have done so far because the COACH put together a weak schedule. At least wait for them to get blown out to rip them apart, and tell them how over-rated they are. Then I'd be right with you guys.. As I am just as against THAT weak of a schedule.
i don't think anybody's bitter about that.  maybe some people will be bitter if they start winning a bunch of district games, i don't know, as i don't really follow 4A basketball much.  the only reason this is an issue is because it's the softest pre-district schedule most of us have ever seen.  in the long run, i think it will hurt the boys rather than help them.  they have no experience fighting adversity, they have no experience bouncing back from a loss, heck, they don't even have experience playing decent teams.  i just don't see how "learning how to win" against mediocre to awful teams is going to prepare them for the quality teams they're about to face in district.  all that being said, i don't think they're overrated, but under-prepared.
 10.
ya exactly..10th... Wow...w three district teams ahead of them... Cant say that is a great rating..
i'd say it's pretty generous considering they're 12 games into the season without playing a team above 3A, or a quality opponent, for that matter.

I read that Jackson's mom was calling the Minn. coaching staff and trying to find out why her son was not playing before Farve got there... :o
:D :D Oh no
I rode the bench my entire college career and begged my mom to call and complain but she wouldnt do it.  She said that if I could have generated my own shot, she might have been willing but that I was a lowly spot up shooter. ;D
that was back when y'all were still shooting at peach baskets, right?  ;D
 12. Nederland wins, 71-48.
That question will be answered on the court friday night  ;) Why does a person who follows a 3A school so concered about it?
because y'all are picking pretty heavily on one of the teams from my district :)
Like I said it will be answered friday night when Nederland plays at Vidor. If I were you I would be more worried about Silsbee in yalls district then coming on here complaining about scheduling for a 4A team.
nothing to worry about with Silsbee. they're the best team in the area.  if they beat us, as expected, it's not that big of a deal. maybe vidor can get into 21-3A, then they can play HF two more times.  i'm thinking they can go 6-0 against them this year :)
 14.
If he wanted to play small schools, I know a couple he could have played!!  But then again all this false confidence he built would be long gone!!
he didn't want to play small schools, he wanted to play bad schools.
 15.
Vidor has some good players. Maybe they are young players and he is getting them ready by gaining some confidence before district.
should put them on JV then, instead of just playing a JV schedule  ::) ;D

 17.
No way Silsbee loses to HJ this year. Unless HJ can work some home-game magic. It is harder to beat a team when you play 5 on 8 instead of 5 on 5 ;)
we hear that every year.  one of these seasons you haters are bound to get it right.

 19. this sucks... i really thought the rangers might snag him.  that being said, the rangers would've won the division without him last season, and he only went 12-9 last year.  he's a fantastic pitcher, but they have enough young talent that i'm hoping that can make it to the playoffs again next season.
 20. they should be gone for the year.  period.
 21. HJ could win.  they obviously aren't the favorite, but would anybody really be all that surprised is Silsbee and HJ split again, like they seem to do every year?
 22.
Lazeek answer the question. Are you saying HJ's schedule is harder than Silsbee's? You can control who you play in a tourney if you host and invite them. Let's see....Host your own tourney.....invite weak 3A and 1A schools.....got to lose twice in the tourney not to reach the final....rematch vs team who played earlier that day......win by 20 and beat your chest like a champion..HJ keys to a 23-6 record.
can someone refresh my memory on how far that weak 1A school Cayuga went in the playoffs last year?
 23. nice bounceback for the hawks against a pretty good 1A school.  i know it's a game they should win, but it's nice to see them do it.
