1. They've lost JJ Barea, Tyson Chandler, and Caron Butler, but they've added Lamar Odom, Delonte West, and Vince Carter!  i don't see any reason why they won't be contenders again this year!
 2.
Could HF make playoffs this year?
they might.
 3. i'll be in... been wanting to go for a long time with you guys, but the one trip i could make got cancelled due to weather.
 4. Anybody know the last time that the hawks started a season 17-0?

I'm not saying he won't still be decent at that time, but there's no way that he'll still be a superstar in 7 years, or that he'll even be more than pretty good in 10.
They probably said that about Nolan...but there is only one Ryan Express!
Carlos Lee contract comes to mind Maybe the contract is structured with less financial burden on the back half
i doubt it... he was looking for a salary that either got bigger each your or remained pretty steady.  i haven't seen the deal in writing, though.
 6. the reports i'm reading say that he and his agent are confident that it will be reasonably explained and that he will be exonerated.  we will see.
Ugh.......not so sure about that.  Several big games on the HJ schedule coming up.  At PNG on Tuesday, and then they play Jacksonville on Saturday in Huntington.  Also have to see who they draw in the EC Tournament.  Not to mention two games with Silsbee in District Play.
if PNG plays them close then the hawks are having an awful game... don't know much about Jacksonville, but at most the Hawks will only have 3 or 4 quality opponents until playoffs.

 9.
28 points the whole game? I've seen Little Dribbler games score more than this.
I've seen Little Dribbler PLAYERS score more than that :)
 10. it's either 54-29 or 64-29, couldn't hear real well.  either way, the hawks are tearing them up.
 11.
4:22 min left in the Kountze/Dayton game. Dayton up 66-39
ouch.
I believe its more than just  a race.  Who knows, maybe HJ will get more rebounds or take higher percentage shots and defend better.
Or maybe Silsbee's speed will offset all those variables you mentioned ;)
this is as fast an HJ team as i've seen in recent years.  i think HJ will be okay.
 14. 81-31 with about 3 minutes left.
 15. wow.  Krum may be 2A, but at 8-1 you have to assume they don't suck.  HJ up 73-27
 16. 2001 HJ team:  We started off 8-0 without having any really close games... In the 8th game of the season our RB (Quentin Riley), FB (Curtis Leday), and QB (Patrick McKeller) all got hurt.  We lost the next game in double or triple OT by 2 points, and the game after that to then 3A powerhouse Barber's Hill by 2 points on a PAT that they botched, recovered and ended up running in for a conversion.  We then went to the 1st round of the playoffs (still without Riley and Leday, and with a still-injured McKeller playing) and lost by about 3 TDs to Bridge City.  That team was stacked.  We had 3 or 4 all-state players on that team (how often can you say that for an HJ team?), our defense was stiff, our offense loaded, and our special teams was very good for a 3A school.  If everyone stays healthy, i think we had a reasonable shot at making a very deep playoff run, maybe even to state.
 17.
Saw they maybe in runnings for Prince if they can clear Hanley's salary by trading him he refuses move to 3B.
i wouldn't be totally shocked if Prince somehow ends up at Texas.  he'd be an excellent fit there.
 18. doesn't bother me too much.  the rest of the angels' offense is pretty much going to suck, and they aren't going to have much money to pick up anyone else.  as for losing wilson, that does sting a bit, but look at it this way:  the rangers' entire rotation is solid, and Feliz is going to be moving into it this season.  also, wilson became the first pitcher in history to lose a game in a division series, championship series, and world series all in the same year, and he also was the losing pitcher in the all-star game.  he might be pretty good in the regular season, but he sucks in the post season.  also, his price was super-inflated because there were no other really good pitchers out on the market.  I have a feeling the angels will eventually be regretting BOTH of the big contracts they signed today.
 19. the hawks offense wasn't overly impressive tonight, but their defense is tough.  this is the fastest hawk team i can remember in recent years.  most of lcm's shot attempts were taken in almost self-defense.  prudhomme didn't play a lot tonight.  got his first foul called in the 1st quarter on a bad call, and got a tech about 3 seconds later.  played most of the 2nd quarter, then some of the 3rd, picking up 2 more fouls and did not play the 4th.  in playing maybe half the game it didn't seem like he did much until i did some figuring and realized he had probably 15 points, 6 or 7 boards, 3 or 4 steals, and 3 or 4 assists.  Even not playing that well, it's easy to tell that this hawk team is VERY good.  tough to complain when your team beats a 4A team by 21 and don't look all that good doing it.
