Just to play devils advocate, would it still not be a significant advantage to sleep in your own bed before the game, follow your normal routine, and then get prepared at your own school before a 30 min ride to the stadium (where you've already played several times) the day of the game? as opposed to riding 5 hours the day before the game, sleeping in a hotel room (I sleep like crap in them), before getting up, holding meetings at the hotel, and then riding to the stadium? I'm not sure how someone is a snowflake for suggesting it's not fair for one region to essentially get home field advantage in the state championship games EVERY year. As to your patriot comment, they would probably B**** plenty, as well as the rest of the league, if the NFL decided to hold the Super Bowl at Heinz Field (or Jerryworld, for that matter) every year.

For what it's worth, PG has given up 240 points this year, WOS 119 (with two less games). Some might try to argue that PG has had a tougher schedule, but madisonville, wimberly, salado, and Kennedale are all very good teams. Going through each team's schedule, I'd say they're pretty even.

I'm in the arklatex area hunting right now, and I keep seeing a little local news commercial that says "if defense wins championships, then pleasant grove should win one next weekend!" And I'm just thinking, they might, but I don't think they don't exactly understand the caliber of defense they're about to face.

I think Silsbee wins comfortably. Center is a very good team, but Silsbee has played a ridiculous schedule so far. They've more than prepared themselves to beat up on a quality 4A team. I'll say 93-73

This played a big roll in Duke getting back in it, but Texas had a lot of mistakes down the stretch as well. Once the second of Texas' three main big men fouled out the game was over.

Sam does some good things, but he's the opposite of clutch.

Big Sam with another dumb play that could cost the horns the game. That being said, terrible clock management and play calling. The first three snaps of that Texas drive were taken with 45 seconds left that could've been drained off the clock.

The bad thing is you can do your best, but no matter what laws are in place, there's very little that can be done to stop these mass killings. whether it's an ideological terrorist attack, a mentally ill person, or someone who's just downright evil, there will always be people who slip through the cracks and perpetrate these terrible events. And they'll use whatever weapon is available, be it gun, bomb, or vehicle to do so. What a horrible situation.

Texas is still a QB away. This will be the 4th game the horns have had where their defense played well enough to win against a ranked team, but either poor qb play or dumb qb turnovers have cost them the game.

Not true! They picked up a football national championship when they moved to the SEC a few years ago. Of course, it was from like 90 years ago, but still. Them actually "winning" it happened when Mack was very much alive.

They have three 1-score losses to top-12 teams, two in OT. They're a competent qb away from a top-10 ranking right now. I'm not happy with their record, but I'm very happy with the direction they're headed, especially on defense.
