AMEN!!!! I've gone to every Lamar home game for years until this season and what I saw Wednesday night down there was pitiful.Sam Houston looked good and I got to visit with my son so it was bearable.
-
I have never seen Rudder but if you have a good shooting club that shoots 50% from behind the arc you're not gonna beat them by 15.Shooting is a lost art and it is the great equalizer.I hope Silsbee plays well but they are going in to the playoffs on a little bit of a down note.
-
I think while both clubs wanted to win this one there were elements of their game they didn't show last night. Was Whisenant under the weather last night? He didn't seem to have the intensity he usually plays with and that's unusual for him.Roc was probably jealous because this was alot better crowd than was at the LU game on Wednesday.

All 3 of these clubs play good ball but Texas is a BIG state. This is the most fun part of the season for the fans.
-
Hill played an excellent game but you're exactly right about the Tigers inside game last night. They repeatedly came down the floor with their bigs open on the break and just didn't feed the basketball.A lot of these breaks they didn't convert on.That and sketchy free throw shooting was the difference in this game.New Waverly will have to bring their A game to compete with the Kountze club that took the floor last night.Duane has done a good job of developing some young guys off the bench during the season.I hope #14 doesn't have any lingering effects from the ankle.

The overall talent seems to be down this year in every classification. There are a few very good teams out there but also some very average clubs in the playoffs.O-field wasn't unlucky they were inconsistant.

He does a good job dishing the ball.Blankenship shot it very well tonight.
-
Great game to watch.Should help prepare both clubs for the playoffs.

I'll be there backing the Pirates.I think the game will be real close with depth being the deciding factor with the phsical play.Spurger has the better skill players but Newton will be deeper. Newton-60 Spurger-57 Good luck to both clubs in the playoffs. I sure would have liked to see a Spurger/Woodville matchup,it would have been a gem.
How can you consider them deeper when they only have 7 players they suite out. Just curious
That was the first time I had seen them play and I was surprised they didn't have any depth. In the past they have always had lots of folks on the bench.I don't know how they made the playoffs from what they showed tonight.Spurger looked solid tonight.

Congrats to the ladies on a great season.I thought going in this would be a rebuilding year. That wasn't the case as it turned out the foundation was and still is solid.Super job. -
I can't help it I rode the short bus ;D
-
My bad,I meant they would win one and be done.I misspoke.

OK
-
This amounts to a 1 and done for the Bucs.
-
I never learned to shoot or dribble on paper and I studied the game alot over the years ::) ::)
-
The Silsbee fans are a pretty quiet bunch on here but they are very knowledgable about the game.I have been to tons of games this year and the most fun about it is setting among the fans and listening at them support their clubs. The Sils/HJ game was packed so I got to sit among the Tiger faithful and they were anything but quiet there.Anyone that thinks this is gonna be a 15 point game is dreaming. They match up very well with Silsbee having a little edge on the point. They win this one in a close game.
-
Newton and E/C or Newton/Anahuac would be pretty close ballgames.Newton got a late start but the district there in isn't a real strong basketball district.
-
EC isn't anywhere near the club they have been in recent years. They will win a early playoff game if they get one of the prep schools but I don't see them going going very deep this season.
-
One thing won't change. One of these clubs will still be 3-1.At the end of the day you have to go by the head to head records, they don't lie.Right now however in the season that matters all three clubs are 0-0 in the season that counts.
-
One thing about it,if EC and Woodville play now it will be easy to get seats ::) ::)
-
They are gonna be tough.
-
I haven't looked at the bracket but EC isn't real strong. They should win their first one easily if it's against the Prep schools but after that it's a toss up. What region is Cayuga playing in??
