1. You may need to get there tomorrow to get a place to stand  ;D ;D
2. Silsbee has all the tools to win it all this year. They have size, speed and shooters.I think the key will be the players you don't hear alot about.#3,I believe his name is Gaines should have an opportunity to be a difference maker.Stallworth should also pose some mismatch problems for whoever they face.
3. I had the opportunity to watch HJ 8 TO 10 times this year and realized these are the type kids you build successful programs with. They all know their role and accept it without question. Some I have known for several years and some I had never met but found myself yelling for them because of the way they played the game.Turner is the quickest defensive player I've ever seen and was a joy to watch.I didn't think Ricossa would play again after he went down against Kountze but he proved me wrong. If I were putting a team together Ricossa would be one of my first picks.Congrats to all the senior hawks on a super run.
4. Now the whole state knows what we here in SeTexas have known for years. There isn't a better playoff official at any level.I have had the opportunity to watch you officiate game of all magnitudes over the years and I can honestly say you are simply one of the best I've ever seen.Congrats on a well deserved honor.
5. Spurgers game starts with being completely unselfish. The have a combination that makes them extremely dangerous, a post player who can come out away from the basket and play ,a very good long ball shooter and a PG that can get them the ball and does. It's unheard of to have 2 D1 atheletes on the same 1-a club but I would'nt bet against the Pirates.Coach Issacs will have them prepared and I'll pik them by 4. Spurger-66 Yuga-62
Look at it this way Kountze did not knock EC out of the playoffs. But NW did, so it look better if the team that beat you goes on to win State. at least then you can say you got beat by the Statechamps
That's the difference in changing schools so often, you never develope the rivalry or the respect for the other teams and players in your district.I wish your son the best of luck in his senior season but it is extremely tough to change schools 3 years in a row and be successful at any of them.

8. You won't see anything but the game being played the right way out of a Coach West coached club.
9. The head coaches of these 2 clubs knowledge of the game is well known but I have never seen better bench coaching from the assistants of these 2 clubs.I found myself watching the adjustments the assistant coaches were making at times more than the game. These schools are lucky to have these staffs.I hope this is the Tigers year, they are due.Good luck in Austin.
10. Congrats Spurger on a big win and a great season.
11. Now that's what an all tourney team should look like.
12. All I can say is WOW!!! This is a perfect example of what makes high school basketball the greatest game there is.Two teams that were prepared to perfection.Every player that entered tonights game left everything they had on the floor. It was a priveledge to get to watch this one.Congrats to both programs on a great year and thanks for letting us old basketball junkies watch.Good luck Tigers in the drum.
13. Even I can't argue when you have a player like Weatherspoon on the 3rd team and I can argue with myself  ;D ;D
14. Silsbee's half court defense was as good as I've seen this year from any high school club and I have watched a lot of ballgames. That being said the Hudson staff made zero adjustments became frustrated and took an early shower. That's very unusual to see a coach get the boot in a regional contest.
15. We were down this year but I think we'll play the hand we're dealt  ;D ;D
16. I predict ahuge crowd of the best fans in the state.Damn this is fun.Looks like I'll be driving back to Huntsville. The teams know each other so well it will come down to execution.Silsbee will win the battle of the boards by sheer numbers.HJ will have to hit the 3 ball and make ft's to pull it out.I learned a long time ago never to pick against a Sutherland coached club. It's gonna be a war.The team with the fewest turnovers wins this game.
17. I like to see a kid try and make a play at that point of the game rather than go hide. The post play between him and Ricossa had been a war all night, that was a fitting end to a good high school ballgame.
18. The secret to this one was definitely on the boards.Silsbee controlled the glass and the game.I was surprised Hudson never made any adjustments to attack the Tiger zone.It was very aggressive tonight and frustrated the Lufkin bunch from the coach on down.Good job Tigers and this sets up a dandy.
19. Was a great game to watch.Had to feel for the Green kid on the offensive foul at the end,he was just trying to make a play.Good basketball played there tonight.
20.

It's funny how folks are saying Zay was the PG at Kountze. Most of what I saw was Brey or Walker bringing the ball up the floor, particularly in crunch time.
My bud! You hardly ever hear anyone from Kountze referring to him as the PG. I said it was a mistake at the beginning of the season as I've watched him since Little Dribblers and I know his strengths.
I caught heck several times this year for saying Kountze had a weakness because they didn't have a true PG but it is probably what cut their season short.Zay lost the consistency on the long ball this year I think because he wasn't comfortable. If the Lions could have left him at the 2 guard and and Roman at the 3 I think they would have been a little better in the long run.
21.
Andrew Brown jr Arp....lol
Is this kid #32?I heard today from a VERY reliable source that Arp had a kid that could flat out go.
22. great, coachable kids all."  And there is the recipe for success.
23. Now there is a serious all star club.
24.
OK, granted...some of the district selections are "large".   ;D      Most of the posters in this section have fairly close ties to their school's program...probably a daughter (or sister) involved at some point now or recently.  You all know that the Head coaches are the only ones involved in the selection process.  If this is TRUELY a monumental issue for you, why not just go to the source (your source) and ask why instead of repeating the same thing over and over?
I don't have any ties to any of these players.I just felt sorry for both the girls that didn't make it  :( :( You gotta admit though it livened up a board that had been way to quiet.
25. I would have to say Donahoe, he just refused to let the Hawks lose.He absolutely took the game over in Austin on one leg, took a savage beating in a crucial game that season in a game against Silsbee. He may not be the best but when they get together they talk about him  ;) ;)
